This week seems too be going well, there progressing at a decent pace i think. I had a problem with one of the seedlings out of 4 of the Dark Devil Autos, I am not 100 percent sure what is wrong with it. It has been going very slowly since the beginning compared too the others which are all doing about the same. It started too show up some odd colored dots first and has progressed and got worse and filling the entire leaves slowly, the spots have spread across the leaves and looks like rust and the end of the leaves are starting too curl up slightly and it feels crispy too the touch. I think its a goner as i do not have a clue what i can do too save it as i do not know the exact cause. The leaves also look very dark green and it's growth has definitely been stunted since the beginning. I Had my pots inside at first and i have had a fungus gnat infestation although i have been letting the top of the soil dry out in-between watering's and couldn't see any there today which is good. I also left a door open in the house one night and my cat went in there and i found tread marks in 3 of my pots. I am wandering if the cat might have urinated in one of the pots and that may have caused these symptoms? Or possibly the fungus gnat larvae chewing there roots and causing a disease too them. Over watering, under watering? Looks similar too calcium deficiency as well. Odd that it is the only one with this problem as they are all in the same medium. I moved them inside my green house in the second week but we have had real nice weather here so i have been taking them outside the back and giving them some fresh air and the full rays of the sun. I am worried too leave them out there now as i am not sure if one of my cats and i have 3 of them might just go on them when i am away. I was watching over them carefully when they were outside and one of the cats did attempt too go on one of the pots but i tapped him on the head a couple of times and he seems too be staying off them at the moment. I am a bit uncertain whether i should leave them outside for good or not yet? There indoor/outdoor variety and im not sure if that means you can grow them in the green house as well or mix it up outside and in there over night etc. There is pure sunlight in the green house from 8 am until around 3 pm so if i have sun i try and move them outside as i can get them in sun light until around 7 pm that way. Out of 4 seeds which one was free i cant complain as i did expect the fungus gnats too wipe them all out pretty soon after finding them. I have read now though that they don't generally cause much harm too your plants but there feed on the organics in the soil which i used some garden compost and bit of manure compost i had in a bag. When i first made my soil mix it was all pretty saturated and i put my germinated seeds straight in it and then a day or 2 later i noticed them and then done my research and realize they are attracted too very moist soil full of organic material. I noticed some webs around the plants as well in the green house and am wandering if that might well be spider mites or just normal spiders i am not sure. A couple of my other seedlings also have curled leaves but i noticed on another grow diary of dark devil auto had the same thing going on when it was a seedling so not sure if that is genetics or something or just because its still young and these things are expected. One of them looks fine with no abnormalities and seems really healthy though. I also had a black spot on the vein of one of the leaves in one of those plants and i tried too scrape it off with a twig and i sort of slightly damaged the leaf and gave it a little hole. I am hoping it doesn't get infected now or something and i am not sure if that black dot was a bit of dirt that got stuck on the leaf or if it was the start of black mold or not. On another leaf i also notice a white-ish patch which i am not sure about but it could be nothing. Well that's the first 2 weeks done i have heard that this strain can be a bit prone too things in the first week but when it gets past that then it gets a bit tougher. So far looking good i'm sorry i missed the first week for photos, starting this diary on the 13th day. Soil Mix I Used: ( I Tried too follow someone else's recipe a bit but also changed it slightly by using different products which i had around ) 3 parts---Multi Purpose Compost W/John Innes 1.5 parts-Gro-Sure Ericaceous Compost 1.5 parts-Home Made Organic Garden Compost 1.5 parts-Gro-Sure Farmyard Manure 2 parts---Perlite 1 part----Vermiculite Here are the links in same order as above: https://www.gardenhealth.com/westland-multipurpose-compost-john-innes https://www.gardenhealth.com/gro-sure-ericaceous-compost https://www.gardenhealth.com/gro-sure-farmyard-manure

They seem too be coming on a bit slowly, i've been looking at others grows outdoors with the same plant and they seem too be much bigger after 2 weeks. Not sure what i am doing wrong, i didn't have nutes too feed them in the first 2 weeks though but i got some and gave a little bit yesterday too start things off. Hopefully will see some improvement now. Im thinking of feeding them twice weekly but am a bit unsure on my feeding schedule at the moment, bit of guess work really. Not sure how much per plant they need either if anyone could help that would be appreciated. Got my first pistil on one of the plants day 20. I started using bio boost nutes on the one that showed its pistil on day 21. I will hopefully see first signs of pistil on the others next week. I also upped the vega dose and lowered the rhizo dose. Just experimenting really as this is my first grow in years and only second time ever using nutes, first time with liquid nutes.

Plants seem like they have stunted growth for last couple of days, i am not sure as too why. Apart from that they are looking pretty healthy. Slow progress.. Might need too lessen the amount of nutes i am giving them as i might not have enough bio boost too finish off the job. I might just get another 250ml or 500ml though. I have decided too lower the amounts of nutes for them i am now giving them roughly half the amount as is recommended. Sort of made my own schedule slowly increasing them and decreasing them over an 11 week period. Not sure if they will finish before or after than time frame but i will find out soon enough. Can see first signs of pistils on all 3 of them now on day 24.

Grow Questions

I am a newb with nutrients and growing in general and i'd like too know how much too feed and how often for optimal results. I know this will depend on what nutrients i use and different species of plant. But in general how much is too little and how much is too much? Cheers 👊

Hi @Emery1991 in general your plants only need a small amount of trace nutrients up until they transition into flowering . Then after the initail stretch is over your plants will need more regular feedings of potash (potassium) and phosphate to promote large healthy blooms. If using store bought nutrient mixes just use them at half the reccomended dosage Hope this helps

There all flowering now and looking really healthy, been lacking sun in the past week but there still doing ok. Not huge in height but i am still going too give them veg nutes this week i think along with boost and a bit of rhizo. Im going too see if i can get much more height on them i would have thought that they should gain at least triple the size height wise this week and maybe next week and then switch too bloom nutes. Well thats the first month done, im hoping for an 11 week harvest time so there is still time yet.. I found 2 problems on 2 of the plants, one has white/brown spots on all the newer growth which i think may be a K deficiency and another one has a few brown spots on a few of the lower leaves. Can anyone help me out if you think you may know the problem and may have a fix, cheers. July 15th i spotted 2 tiny black insects which i think are aphids i am not sure if that big green bug laid eggs. Got lots of insects in the garden.. I read that aphids suck the green out of the plants ( the chlorophyl ) Looking from below the plant it looks exactly like they have done that. Was my best plant as well but hopefully my cannacure shall fix it tommorow. At end of week i've given them there first bloom nutes with half veg nutes ready for week 6 ill turn too flowering but give half half for week 6 then make the full switch for week 7. 37cm tall at end of week hoping for them too double in size at least by the end. The one with brown pistils is still growing white ones out the tops of all the branches so hopefully it hasnt been seeded and it was overfed or maybe the cannacure i sprayed over them did it although the other 2 are all white. I dont think one of them has hermied but i cant tell on the one in the green pot just yet.. going too leave them for a bit and check daily for bananas or balls..

Did some more LST on the other two plants lastnight ( end of week 5 ) looking good this morning. Recovered and responded well so far, I also snipped the bottom branches off as there usually tiny and take up energy. Really coming along now, noticing the difference week by week dramatically. Hopefully get too around 55 cm this week.. Currently 37 cm tall ( the one with out LST on the main branch. July 23rd Hottest day of the year so far, looks promising. 25th July, Stopped feeding veg nutes now onto pure bloom with boost. Might get some PK 13/14 or something similar for week 8.

Week 7 already and there slowing down on growing in height as far as i can tell, there fairly shorter than i expected probably due too stress or something in the beginning. They may stretch some more but im not sure. Short but sweet. Looking healthy and got some nice flowers coming on. One of them has had a touch of purple since the very beginning but the other 2 are totally green i am hoping they will change purple over the next couple of weeks now.

Looking beautiful now, coming along really nicely. Can finally see the finish line with these 3. Only a couple more weeks too go i think. I reckon the more purple one is going to need another week longer than the other two. The scent off them is absolutely stunning and its making me want too smoke them now, haha. But patience is key here. Still have too dry and cure too so in total i think another 2 months until there truly finished. Looking forward now. 😎

So far so good, 2 of them are a bit on the smaller side of things. Apart from that i am really happy with the way things are going. Last few weeks now, the main fan leaves on the smallest one are now turning nice and yellow. Waiting on the bud leaves too start changing now and then ill know its nearly ready. Really cannot wait much longer as the smell is so nice off them and making me want a smoke now. But a bit of patience i might be able too wait until there dried and cured which may still be around 8 weeks away again. August 2nd i noticed mold growing on the smallest plant of the 3 was quiet annoying as so close too the end. I took off the bits first which looked bad and left it outside for another hour or so and then noticed more affected one of the branches.. After a bit of research and that i decided too take her down and salvage what i could. It's not much i got from this one but it is definately better than nothing. I smoked a bit fresh and its not too bad. I guess it will be alot better when dry though. I also have more small buds inside a brown paper bag drying as well, so i did get more than is hanging up in these pics here. I will take a shot of it all when dry. I am hoping so much that the other 2 ive left outside dont get caught up in it now.. We had a light shower lastnight and i watered them quiet late in the day and kept them in trays with the run off for several hours and reused it once later in the evening and in the early morning to soak them again. Luckily i removed them from the trays lastnight after reading its not great for them. I could have got another week or 2 out of this one i reckon and the same at least with the others as long as they dont now get infected with mold as well. Will see what happens now.

Well, What was going so amazingly well just went horribly wrong. Getting up too the final few days till harvest and My brother went missing and we had too phone police for help and then they had too search the house as protocol and checked the garden and found the beautiful ladies in the garden. So unfortunately didn't get too reap the benefits of my crop this time round. Luckily a few days before i had bud rot on the smallest one and so i managed too try a tiny portion. But unfortunately it was the worst one of the 3, The other 2 were looking beautiful, especially the dark purple one. I Could have possibly hid them but i was stupid and didn't act fast enough. Those colas were looking so Nice, feeling devastated since. Would have been nice too finish off the diary and try those awesome plants. What a brilliant strain over all, the bit i tried was very nice, had a slight lavender taste and smell too it, a bit flowery too and a bit of citrus. I managed too get 10 grams of dry bud from my little plant i salvaged. Smoked within a couple of days and just got a bit of leaf too finish off. Loved growing this plant, Hell of a sad ending too it though. 😢 I also lost all the other plants in my other diary which all looked absolutely amazing, 12 plants altogether. Would definitely recommend the dark devil and fairly easy too grow. This being my first personal grow by myself and first diary attempted. Feeling deeply wounded, but that is what you get for playing with the devil and god i suppose. Absolutely Gutted. I like too think there's always a next time. Until Next Time..

Brilliant strain, very fast flowering. Noticed my first pistils at week 3. The overall experience of growing this strain was brilliant, apart from the nasty ending too it. I was just about too harvest the last 2 so took around 10 weeks too harvest from germination. I only managed too harvest a bit off the smallest plant due too bud rot on there a few days before i had too let them all go too the police. I pulled the small one with rot a few days early so managed too finish that in a couple of days. 10 grams i got, the other 2 plants looked like they had about 2 ounce at least. Would have been wonderful those plants looked so beautiful and healthy. I also missed out as i didnt see how the purple buds would dry out black. I was looking forward too that. Oh well, it is what it is. Better luck next time i suppose.
