connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 10/31/26***
Hello Everyone! Today I begin my cannabis breeding journey, I plan on documenting the entire process & will be starting off STRONG!
I've managed to narrow my entire collection down to 47 strains, I will be running 47 singular seeds in order to start, these will be split up amongst one 4x4 & 3 5x5's for now, this run is moreless a taste testing, I should be able to get a general idea on what I'd like to work with while kind of playing the lotto in regards to singular phenotypes selection wise, I will then narrow my selection down even further until I'm left with 3 strains I can hunt through thoroughly, this grow will be seperated by breeder here on GrowDiaries, I Will also drop a link to my 1st video down below for anyone who is interested in following along :P

My goal on this 1st run is to have 36 females going into flower so I can run 9 plants per tent, I currently have 250+ strains on hand & it's hard to try & narrow those down to 47 let alone 3 so I may end up doing this twice, this will be a mixture of regular & feminized seeds, I'm bound to run into a couple males along the way & I definitely want at least 1 female per reg before I pop the remaining seeds, I think 2 runs makes the most sense, once the runs are completed I want to pick 3 strains that really stand out & I will hunt through the remaining seed prior to crossing a couple of winners, from there, I will take this creation & gradually work my way towards an S1, I plan on stabilizing my cross through 3 to 5 generations before I self, the S1 will be used to create an entire line amongst others so I have some variety, a majority of my selection consists of legacy/land race type strains although There are a few newer ones on the list I'm genuinely curious about as well, I also wanted to ensure I end up with a couple washers this time around so I can test out my new freeze dryer!
I will be using the same products as always, 100% organic, the only thing that has changed is the scale of my grow & the size of my nutrient bottles, there may be a fair bit of copy/paste in throughout the diaries as I have to try & manage 16 tabs at once & the plants are seperated by breeder, I want to try & keep up with these diaries daily or it will be every other day at the very least !
Strains in this portion of the grow are as followed:
Pre 1970 Mazar-I-Sharif (Landrace) - The 7 Club
Balochistan (Landrace) - The 7 Club
I will be back with another update on the day of the transplant, all 47 of my seeds have germinated sucessfully within 1.5" rockwool cubes, I will be moving them to 1 gal pots shortly :P
***UPDATE 11/01/26***
Transplanted everything into 1 gal pots with a little bit of Great White Myco & moved the plants into a 5x5, each plant is now receiving roughly 300 - 320 uMOL of light!
Gave each plant roughly 300ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour at a PH of 5.8, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water!
Temps/RH were good throughout the day today, an average of 25c/57%RH, calibrating new hygrometers so no pic of stats today!
I will start week 1 veg in the next couple of days :P

Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! I will be bumping PH up to 6.1 to 6.3 for the remainder of the grow now that everything is above soil! I shall continue to run the Armadillo Armour (Monosilicic Acid) every other watering throughout veg & I will begin to introduce additional microbes/beneficial bacteria near the end of week 3 veg!
A strong start with very minimal loss, anything that fails to run will be tried again during my second run, I'm 46 out of 47 germination wise, the Cannalien by Romulan Genetics was the only dud out of the entire batch, the Romulan IX2 is above ground but very slow to start, I shall keep a close eye on this one in the coming days! Everything else seems to be doing quite well although I am still waiting on the Tampa Crippie IX & Hindu Kush by Sunshine State Seed Co. & the Lemon Diesel by For Fam By Fam to surface, if these ones fail to reach the surface I will also try each of them again on my 2nd run!
PAR in this tent is right around 300 uMOL, temps/RH were pretty good throughout the day today!
The second episode of my Cannabis Breeding Project should be live on YouTube in the next couple of hours, I'm hoping to have this up by 10pm EST tonight, here is a link to episode #1 for now if you guys would like to follow along :P

Currently running 16 diaries at once, I will try my best to post pictures daily, the diaries that have 5 plants per breeder will only be updated every other day during veg as the picture limit is 30, they will be every day once I reach flower, Cheers Guys!
***UPDATE 11/03/26***
Busy day today & I was late watering the seedlings this afternoon..... Opened the tent to find roughly 1/3 of my seedlings slumped over & in dire need of water..... In a panic, I ended up giving each plant roughly 300 - 400 ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water, a majority of the seedlings have since recovered although I'm still dealing with a couple of issues in between both tents, will list them below:
Tampa Crippie IX by Sunshine State SeedCo. - Germinated but did not reach the surface
Hindu Kush by Sunshine State Seed Co. - Germinated but did not reach the surface
Cannalien by Romulan Genetics - Did not germinate
Romulan IX2 by Romulan Genetics - Possible runt, cotyledons have been above soil for a couple of days but finger leaves are nowhere to be found
Garlic Chem S1 by Private Breeds - I damaged this one originally, lack of water has more than likely cooked the seedling this afternoon
Chem 91 SK VA Bx1 F2 by Prvate Breeds - More than likely cooked from a lack of water this afternoon
Lemon Diesel by For Fam by Fam - Germinated but did not reach the surface
Garlic Diesel by For Fam by Fam - More than likely cooked from a lack of water this afternoon
^ I have started to germinate a new one of each using the paper towel method, there is a chance a couple of them may still surface or recover but I want to ensure I have these present during this first run, once the seeds have germinated I plan on skipping the rockwool cubes & will be putting them directly into 1 gallon containers with living soil !
I'm very early into this grow & I already have a few things I will do differently the next time around.... Now that I know rockwool cubes are 100% safe & easy to work with, I will give my seedlngs a bit of extra time in the cubes before I move them into the 1 gallon pots the next time around, this is my 1st time ever working with rockwool, it would be beneficial to have more root mass poking out of the bottoms of the cubes before they are placed into the soil!
The pots dried out fast in between the night of November 1st & the 3rd, bone dry in roughly 36 hrs.... Humidifiers would definitely help but I am currently unable to run them, I also want to avoid covering the 1 gallon pots with hay until they are in their final 5 gallon containers somewhere around day 21 to 23, will be keeping a very close eye on water retention throughout the coming days, I also moved my clip fans up & away from the pots for now since I do not have anything in place for water retention, last but not least, I will rehydrate my living soil before I go to use it anytime the bags have been sitting, I grabbed my cubic yard in July & the bags had been sitting idle for 4 months, the soil was on the verge of becoming hydrophobic by the time I got to it & I had a hard time with it during the 1st watering, thankfully the water did start to absorb a lot better during this second watering!
I'm thinking everything should be ok from here, Just need to check on them periodically throughout the early stages of growth to ensure I don't run into anything else along the way, a couple of the seedlings are slightly overwatered but they should still survive without any additional issues !
Temps/RH were good throughout the day today, I was able to maintain 25C/60% RH!
***UPDATE 11/04/26***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering & everything seems to be back on track, the 1 gallon pots are retaining moisture a lot better after yesterdays adjustments, it should be smooth sailing from here!
I've set placeholders for the 8 strains I am starting over, am hoping to have those in 1 gallon pots over the next couple of days!
Temps/RH were good throughout the day today, a very stable 25c/60% RH in my current environment!
