Wedding Gelato: Complex Love Affair!

A big thanks goes out to Royal Queen Seeds for offering me to test one of their strains of my choice! Since I originally decided to grow Girl Scout Cookies this period, I decided to go for RQS latest premium US Genetics: Wedding Gelato! This love triangle in question starts with Triangle Kush x Animal Mints, creating Wedding Cake. Then, in true threesome spirit, Gelato 33 is added to spice up the partnership. 20–25% THC comes courtesy of Gelato 33, while the genetic diversity of Wedding Cake contributes the majority of her flavour. There is some GSC lineage in Wedding Gelato. As an Indica lover I am extremely curious and excited to grow this strain and her terpene profile:). In this diary I will grow 2x photoperiod strains. After growing till the 5th to 6th internode I will top off to the 3rd internode and start mainlining. By mainlining I will create 2 main colas per plant (1 cola per square feet). When the 2x tips per plant are approximately 30cm apart I will switch to the new SolarXtreme 250 COB. I will still have to decide how long I will grow till I induce flowering. This is my second grow and on GROWDIARIES! As a cannabis enthousiast I am researching the latest genetics for medicinal purposes in small-scale home growing conditions. I chose photoperiod genetics to compare with my previous autoflower diary with US genetics. These days autoflowers seem more convenient to grow in small spaces and seem to reach the potency of photoperiod strains. I'm eager to test this. Expecting a better resin production on petioles and sugar leaves, we all just love frosty plants! Next diary will most likely include US genetics autoflowers again for a proper comparison. Setup: - Darkstreet DS60 R4 - Mastergrow 600W DUAL LED (100W Power draw) for vegative growth, bloom switched off. - California Lightworks SolarXtreme 250 COB (200W Power draw) for flowering phase. Purchased from my friends at Dutch Passion! - 250m3 Fan + 255m3 carbon filter on Cli-Mate Fan Controller - Romberg Hortiswitch with Skinny heatmat 60W, 16w MonkeyFan, Garden High Pro Thermo/Hygro meter, - 9L Air-Pot, Blumat Tensiometer, BIOCANNA soil and nutrients, - RQS Wedding Gelato Seed! First week seedling will get 24/0 hours light regime and then switch to 20/4 with vegetative switch only (320W) in the first week. Day 1 (02Jul19): Day 1 counted from the moment the seed breach out of the ground. 9L airpot fully watered. Only watering if necessary to minimize stretching, promote root development and short internodes. Day 6 Second watering pH 6.25. Runoff: 6.02 pH & 4.75 EC.
