These might be blueberry or they might be C99, seems some C99 seeds have jumped the dividers in this box I kept the seeds in.
Planted 2 the week before, but they did not even pop. I wonder if they were C99? They were free seeds so I wonder if they were old...
But I guess we will find out what she is!
Next 2 seeds popped, but got a bit leggy so replanted in small pots.
I have been ill/busy at work so it's all ! could do was hand water the seedlings with seedling strength nutes. Well it kept them alive, hopefully the N def has fixed with a fresh batch of nutes. Those babies have been very forgiving of my neglect, very hardy. Should up watering to 2x a day. Need more fabric pots.
Leaf shape is night and day to the sativa heavy hybrid I grew last.
Few weeks veg, take clones and put one into flower? Sounds like the plan.
These very short and stocky girls! Hopefully, this will make flowering much easier if they don't massively stretch. She sure is an indica.
Dialing up the nutes, 760 a bit high than target but see no adverse effect.
Waiting so they big enough to take some clones, and once they have taken then will flip to flower. Actually, I'll just top and use that for clones. Can't waste the top!
They like it cool so gotta keep that air con low. It works well enough keeping the temps in about 24C.
Topped this week, and setting up the flowering tent.
Continuing veg. Not sure about the clones I took from the topping. I think they rooted but um burnt! Poor things.
The one plant finally got upgraded to 3 gal fabric pot
I am going away for a trip, setting up auto watering wish me luck nothing goes wrong!
So I set up the drippers before I went away for 4 nights. Was a bit worried because of lack of time to fine tune the drippers but yolo. The res had run out of water by the time I was back, and the girls were looking thirsty but alright.
You may notice the crispy clones, so I have to take another batch of clones. Am trying to get the aero cloner working to see if I can make the process a bit easier.
Getting close to flippin
So last week has been increasing dark time, but not officially flowering yet.
And they moved into the flowering tent!
But I think they've started stretch, so as I was moving them into the new tent I done some defoliating underneath and a little pruning of the larf bud sites.
That root growth! I forgot to put the risers under when I set this time so it was in contact with the tray.
And yes I have put 2 plants into a 40x40 space, YOLO and all, see if it can be done.
whoooops made a bubu with the timer and I haven't been on 12/12...So I guess I'm flipping from now. I might have vegged too much (gonna need a bigger boat).
Made an upgrade to the tent. Got a wet vac to pump out the waste water, I no longer have to hand pump lol.
I defoliated and pruned the lower branches to give a bit more space and circulation, though it wouldn't matter since we still in veg.
I guess we still in transition. So long...The mechanical timer I had my light on was giving me hell so I've switched to a smart plug. Boom problem fixed. I just hope they aren't stressed. But they definetly stretching so I'm hoping we can see pistols soon...I'm down to my last jar lol.
This tent is sooooo small it's hard to fit the fans without blocking the QB. Where to put it... I am really pushing things with having 2 plants flowering in there. I guess ultimately I will have the same amount from two than if I had trained one.
Started defoliating the underside since it was packed and humid. The leaves were starting to yellow anyway, I try to leave the canopy intact, just removing big ones blocking buds. There were alot of very green shoots stretching to the top which I removed, figured they would be popcorn and just taking up that valuable real estate.
We finally have buds! nice ones too.
Moving up the bloom nutes when I remix the nutes, and do some defoliatig and give the top buds some more air and light.
Well we have some flowerings developing!
I lollypopped the lower stems, yah I vegged them waaaaaay too long. But I think they just about fit in the tent. Lessons for next time. Should take them out the tent and neaten all those little larfy shoots that are trying to grow. I see you guys there.
I also pruned alot of the weak shoots that were trying to reach the canopy. Has helped the humidity for sure.
We are moving to week 2 flowering nute schedule, Happy for my first grow with this strain.
Flowers coming in, lollipping and taking away the weak shoots. Feels bad but I know it will make for better buds at the canopy.
Might need to rethink my waste water system
Well the final major lollipopping was done, was really needed as it was so thick and so much larf. But I saved the trim in the freezer for butter next time.
Made the nutes too hot, so had to diute in a few days.
Getting exciting now!
Another week and I think we are entering late flower lots of clear trics, nutes will be changed this week. Give her all the nutes she needs for some big buds!
I had the water too hot as you can see form the bottom leaves having their nails done but the magic of cooc is that it can all be solved with the next fertigation
Humidity is a drag, I have to manually take the wate out with a pump so defo installing DR MJ's waste water pump net time. But I like DIY projects and it will make the grow fully automatic. Very excited.
She looking gooooood! Love how frosty she getting. Under a microscope mostly clear but some turning cloudy I think.
Realised why I've had some nute problems my cheap PH pen was out of calibration. I went to calibrate it and it just wouldn't calibrate saying 4.0 was 6.4+. So I threw it in the trash. I now have a slightly more expensive EC/PH pen. I think I've brought about 5 PH pens at this point. I hope this pen doesn't break.
3 more weeeeeeks I think till harvest, so hard to wait.
Was suggested to flush because the yellowing could be lockout, both plants starting to yellow. Not too concerned at this stage, ph is right. Calyx are huge and sticky, pistols turning orange.
Trics under microscope mostly clear with a few turning cloudy. I am aiming for 10-20% amber for harvest so 2 more weeks should be about right.
The disaster of the week was a flood, yeah that was not pleasant to clean up. Desperately need wastewater upgrade so looking forward to harvesting!
Finished the ripen phase hope to get a few more ambers after the flush, but from the leaves worried she given all she got.
Things I need to upgrade before the next grow:
Install T to stop the siphon effect. Oh wow finally figured out why I had flooding, the pipe had fell down below the water line in the res.
Better support, even if it's some bamboo sticks, the colas so heavy now.
Install auto waste water system!
Only flower one plant in the tent :)
Well I really trimmed these buds well, so they dried nicely and are now into jars for cure. Little disappointed with the yield but I think that was down to my lack of training. I think one well trained plant could do better yield wise, I had a lot of small buds which I could have lolly popped. Plants would have been better with support.
I swished the buds in water with a few drops of lemon juice then rinsed with fresh water.
Cos I'm impatient I'm smoking uncured bud and the high is very relaxing and "in the moment," good for chilling with a movie.
Will update with more complete smoke profile once she's cured.
But the buds were super frosty
