Jayann These seedlings were rescued from tipped over solo cups which had already started growing. I was able to find the seed and root with 8 hours of the accident and get them successfully replanted and able to get them to take. Due to the accident, I now have no idea which seedling is which out of 2 Secret Formula seeds and 1 Real Gorill4 seed. I believe at least one is Real Gorill4. The seedlings were given a couple weeks to re-acclimate before being transplanted outdoors on 6/26/19.

Jayann Continue to have higher than average rainfall during this time of the year with rain during the evenings of the 1st, 2nd and 4th. The plants were also watered on 6/29/19 for the first time since it had been a while since the last rain.

Jayann The constant rainfall has finally stopped which led to a watering on 7/13/19. I also did a top feed on 7/11/19 of 1 cup worm castings, 3/4 cup Mexican Guano, 1/2 cop Jamaican guano and 1/8 cup lime with less than 1/2 gallon watered on top to leech it into the ground. No sign of sexing on either plant so far as I can tell but it is hard to get right down in there and look with the fencing I have around it. Either way both are thriving and if one is the Real Gorill4 she will be a female regardless.

Jayann Heavy rainfall on 7/23/19 and short daytime rainfall on 7/29/19. Aside from that I have only needed to do the one supplemental watering. Everything looks good aside from the Real Gorill4 showing signs similar to the large plant of what looks to be some strange purple coloring on the inside of what looks to be the beginning of flower. I will include an image of what this looks like on the larger plant just for information purposes. While the real Gorill4 is not showing as much signs of this as the bigger plant, I did see the beginnings of it on the one plant.

Jayann Plants continue to benefit from rain and have not needed to be watered outside of that except for once. Naturally it rained immediately after watering. Wanted to do a small top feed on each plant of 1/2 cup Mexican guano and 1/5 cups worm castings. Raked into soil and then did a light water to allow it to seep on 7/23/19. Rain is expected for this evening to give them a real watering. We had a pretty heavy storm on 7/20/19 and I ended up securing the possible Secret Formula with a bamboo stick as the wind had caused the plant to start falling to one side and was no longer as secure in the dirt. The bamboo has stabilized it and the growth that was causing it to lean is starting to straighten back out.

Jayann Watered each plant with 1 gallon of rain water on 8/3/19 collected from last rain to avoid any pH fluctuations. Turns out the pH of the rain water is around 5.5 so it is no wonder that there were fluctuation signs when they were watered with the bottled water at 6.3. Due to growth patterns I am still fairly confident that the possible Real Gorill4 is accurately labeled which mean it is female. If this is indeed the case, the growing patterns of the possible Secret Formula have it looking more like a male. Still no pre-flower signs on these.

Jayann The Secret Formula started showing signs of deficiency and so it was fed 1/2 tsp CalMag via 1 gallon pH'd to 5.5 on 9/1/19. Both plants were fed 4 cups Jamaican guano via top feed and watered with 1 gallon collected rainwater pH'd to 5.5. Temps have started to drop at night so I have been covering at night with a frost blanket when it gets below 50. This has not stopped it from continuing to purple with the cooler temps at night.. I realize it has been 4 weeks since the last update but the flowering has really initiated its stretch. Such a big difference in height in just 4 weeks. The Real Gorill4 is around 5 feet tall now and the Secret Formula around 4 feet.

Jayann Plants continue to only require the rainfall that has been provided up until this point with the most recent rainfall happening on 9/21/19. Possible Real Gorill4 is clearly stunted by outdoor life as her buds are no where near as developed as the other plants. Possible Secret Formula is being second guessed. The other plant currently growing which came from the same bag seed is clearly either a different strain or a different phenotype as the smells are entirely different. I am fairly confident on the guess of the Real Gorill4 just based on how picky and sensitive the strain is and she got stunted without even being topped. Possible Secret Formula still shows signs of the Cal/Mag deficiency but only on the older growth. All newer growth is fine. We will continue with what mother nature has to offer for likely at least the next 30 days.

Jayann Over the course of the past two weeks we have had VERY heavy rainfall causing some areas of bud rot on both plants. Contemplated harvesting but trichs are not quite ready yet on possible Secret Formula and possible Real Gorill4. In fact Real Gorill4 is not even structurally ready. Lots of white hairs. She was a slow flowerer and an even slower stacker. She has just now these past two weeks started filling out and stacking. So, I made the decision to cut off the affected branches, being careful not to touch any other areas of the plant. Area cut was treated with hydrogen peroxide as well as the scissors used. The weather has improved and although I am having to cover at night because we have had a few night of low 40s, the days have been pretty exceptional growing conditions and I have only had to remove one other branch since. My goal is to push these as long as possible which will be tricky as we are expecting a dip into the high 30s couple evenings. I am aiming for a harvest around Halloween (as long as trichs cooperate) but am prepared to harvest as soon as is needed if I continue to find Botrytis. I am planning a wet trim and am contemplating drying individual buds on the rack due to the moisture issues.

Jayann Harvest of the possible Real Gorill4 was on 10/15/19 which was a little sooner than I had anticipated. The growing conditions had started to become difficult with the night temps dropping into the 30's and a week of non stop rain was expected the week after harvest. Due to the Boytrytis I wanted to get the fastest possible dry to avoid any continuing issues. All affected branches were removed and the buds were immediately separated from the branches. The Real Gorill4 was not trimmed wet but was placed on the drying rack as well. The Real Gorill4 buds were turned over the course of the 4ish days of drying to try to help prevent flat spots. These buds were dry trimmed. All buds were jarred for 4 weeks. The RH was near perfect during the cure. The end result was the possible Real Gorilla had the heaviest amount of crystals. The smoke was very smooth and gives a very heavy high. She has had very positive feedback from my people.

Jayann Harvest of possible Secret Formula was on 10/13/19 which was a little sooner than I had anticipated. Due to the Boytrytis I wanted to get the fastest possible dry to avoid any continuing issues. All affected branches were removed and the buds were immediately separated from the branches. Possible Secret Formula was run the the trimming machine while wet and the buds were placed on a drying rack for 3ish days. All buds were jarred for 4 weeks. The RH was near perfect during the cure. The end result was some very compressed buds in the possible Secret Formula. She had a very different terp profile than the other bag seed companion that was grown in the garden ( see https://growdiaries.com/diaries/30659-secret-formula-bag-seed). The smoke was hard to burn and has drawn very little interested from my people. However the above mentioned garden mate has been the biggest fan of them all.
