Hey guys,
This is my first indoor DWC grow. I have done an outdoor grow previously which went fine but was in soil.
Seedling is currently looking good, has some yellow spots which I believe happened due to wrong PH (my bad).
I will be using the entire botanicare line for this grow inlcuding great white mycorrhizae, really gives the solution a noticable sent.
Hey guys, currently i'm struggling with my plant. I think it's a calmag deficiency but i'm struggling to add more to the solution than currently possible due to the EC value rising to fast with this. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
@Sand0rv hi mate you are giving them too much too soon It is very very easy to over love your plants early on
when all they all need is a small amount of nutes lots of light and a comfortable environment.
Try to cut back on that feed regime Lower the temps a bit and she will be good A tip to raise the humidity a bit is to place a bowl of water inside the tent with the plant/s it helps add alittle moisture to the air Hope I have helped and happy growing
I would say you are over feeding and possibly not enough air to roots. Less is more with DWC in terms of nutrients. Also if you are using hard water ( 300ppm or higher) then cal mag is the last thing you want to add.
Basically nobody wants to hear this but your tap water is contaminated with excess calcium so any additional nutrients that you add will more than likely give you nutrient lock! Which will leave you with crap yields and wasted time and money. Find a local aquarium shop and they will sell u Reverse osmosis water. 00ppm and then you will see the results.
But to be fair it’s all a massive learning curve and you will get the hang of it the more you start to read your plants and what they want and don’t want. Watch some garden sage videos on YouTube. He’s my guy. Also The grateful grower. (Jim Carey if he grew dank) 😂👍👍👍
Just a comment on your nutrients.. Great white and hydroguard are basically the same thing. Hydroguard is the Bacillus bacteria and Great White has that and a bunch more (think 14 total). Hydroguard is supposed to be more concentrated, but yea haha, both probably aren't needed. Good luck pushing through! 👊
@labossanova honestly no I’m not sure as I’m new but I would like to put in my cents and see what I can get out of this situation as well. How els do you learn :)
@Majormolasses, well if you're genuinely asking i would say learning is easier when I listen rather than talk isn't it? I never feel bad being wrong because at least I learn something if I get corrected. But I also try not to "guess" at random like this lol because my opinion on a subject i know very little about isnt that important and for sure that's not learning.... but .... you good bro ! here's a REALLY USEFUL ressource for all sorts of plant issues if you need a reference : https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-symptoms-pictures
They do look a little tatty ,if it was me I would feed at half dose to the packet for upto 3 weeks . I wouldn’t add calmag till this point either they don’t look like they have cAlmag deficentcys leaf tips look unburnt .
What temp is your Rez
Too cold and they won’t grow but hibernate around 20 degrees c is perfect 16 is too low 25 is too hot really need that sweet zone
What ph is your Rez
My girl had the same leaf twisting and deformities. I got hydroguard and it cleared up in 2 days. As for the nutes I'd go 1/4 strength. I'm on week 5 and barely pushing 550 ppm
If your tap is really pushing 400ppm, then you really should use calmag lightly. Half what the container suggest max. Looking good now, good luck with the harvest! My LSD is about 2 week behind yours so it'll be nice to compare ladies!
Happy growin' y'all!

@majormolasses : are you sure it's a P issue? plants need P much later on, you'll really never see this deficiency at this stage in the plant's life. you can tell it's a magnesium issue because of the way the oldest leafs are affected first and the side of the leafs are burning like that. @sand0rv hope i answered your question : EC measurements are really important, but listening to the plant is more importanter 😂 anything else you need just drop me a message 🚀
could be from your light being to close, my Led is about 27inch away in veg and down to about 20inch in flower. Cal mag might sort it out, you will have to keep your eye on new growth as I cant see them damaged leaves recovering. Edit.I dont use your nutes but I'm usually at an ec around 1.0 at the stage yours is at. I would check some of the top growers on here, see if any of them use your nutes and see if you have been feeding them similar to theres.
Hmm very interesting guys! I never knew CalMag works this way. So I should just give nutes to the desired EC and then add to what the bottle says or the plant tells me.
Thank you all for the fast and many responses!!!
@Sand0rV, yeah it's hard to over do it with cal mag (unless you go crazy) ... another thing you can do is make a calmag foliar spray if you're nervous about EC, mix something like 3-5ml/L then spray it on the leafs, leafs uptake at 85% efficiency versus 15% for the roots... you do the math ! 🚀
Thank you all for the many answers! I heard that especially in DWC you need extra CalMag so that's why i was thinking a CalMag def.
Fortunately I received my carbon filter + exhaust fan yesterday so i was finally able to have the hot air blowing out, this dropped the temp with a couple of degrees and upped the humidty. Right now the tent is 23c/73f and when the lights are on it's 27c/80f which is a lot better than previous! A small intake fan is also on the way.
If this one should fail I still have 2 seeds left for this strain, I also have green crack and fastberry left to grow. But I respect every seed so I will try my best!
