Very late to be planting a photoperiod plant. I’m hoping to get a male and freeze the pollen till next year and fertilize a feminized version of this cross. If it’s a girl at least I’ll find out if I can bring thisvariety to harvest. We have long warm autumns here but I’ll have to take precautions if it goes into November. Anyway, I had an open pot and just thought to try it. My autos should be done before pollen stars flying.

Nice growth. I don’t expect it will be a very big plant started this late, but we will see. I’m just very curious about this one. Hope it’s a boy!

Just popping out the 7th node. Good week of full sun and a light feeding of some compost tea and molasses. Impressed with the early branching. Hoping for some good growth before shorter days arrive. It’s fun to watch it grow.

Growing super well. Gave some molasses and kelp. The pot has an ample supply of bone meal and blood meal so I’m not concerned about nutrients... yet. It is a very supple willowy plant and winds here can be vicious going into late summer and worse in the fall so decided to start training. Video shows how even a modest breeze blows those thin leaves around.

Still doing very little for this plant. Weather is a little cooler and the shorter August days have started some preflowers. I am hoping for a male to collect and freeze pollen from, but I’m not good enough to tell yet. I think it looks promising though!😀

Propane? Funky cabbage gas? Did something crawl into my garden and die? No wait! It’s sweet like jonquils or pansy just stronger. Whatever it is it’s coming from my Honduras X Panama and it’s getting stronger. Still can’t tell from preflowers if it male or female but it is growing well and branching profusely with the LST. Gave some compost tea, kelp and molasses. It loves the very temperate days and nights we are into now.

Hmm, aphids and.... PISTILS! Guess I’m not getting my pollen after all...sigh. LOL. The consolation prize will be fun though! Whacked the aphids with some insecticidal soap. Will have to come up with a shelter plan cuz this will go into November I guess. Whatever. I’m just doin’ a happy dance.

@HighRoller909, i’ve Got Erdpurt to try next year along with an H X P feminized. I’m loving the size of my Sweet honey peach CBD so will likely stick with Sweet for my Autos next year depending on how I like the finished product. Nepal Jam looks good though.

@ODNTrick,yeah I got that impression at first, thought you crossed these yourself :D but anyway it seems like a nice choice.Ace know their stuff.their nepalese jam gives a warm uplifting relaxation as well you might try in next grow.best wishes for your wife too, hope she gets better.

@HighRoller909, haven’t had any Panama since at least 1983.😃 bought this as a limited edition. Ace crossed Honduras males over their Panama elite cut to make the regular seed and reversed the Panama cut to pollinate Honduras females. I got both this summer thru TrueNorth Seedbank. I think they still have some left. Was planning to plant next spring but had an auto this summer that didn’t survive so decided to see if I could get lucky with a late grow. Couldn’t figure out how to put the special edition variety in the drop down so entered it asPanama. It’s Ace’s Cross so hope I didn’ give the impression that it was mine. I’m mostly trying my hand at growing some high CBD strains to help my wife who is on some powerful heart meds that cause her a lot of joint pain... I haven’t grown or smoked in many years but legalization, Canada, has opened the door so when I was was looking at seeds this caught my eye.

@HighRoller909, so I’m not sure what you mean. Two weeks ago I thought the pre flowers which were very small, looked like male. Last week I thought I saw pistles. Watching it this week the male parts have very clearly shown themselves as well as a small inflorescence of pistoles mainly near the top of the bud. I’m tempted to just keep growing it out. I din’t Have any nearby neighbors who could have plants blooming that the pollen would wreck. I really like the plant and would like to see how it colours up as the cool weather sets in. Maybe I should put it up as a question and get some other opinions from more experienced growers. Maybe it’s normal for males to produce a few female flowers in Central American sativas. I know hermaphroditism is common among them. I don’t think that whatever is happening is induced. Plant health has been fine. I suppose the fact that it was a late planting could have some influence. I’ve never grown outdoors before. Cannabis science has come a long way since I had my little cabinets back in the early 90s. Hence the Old Dog New Trick nickname. Thanks for your interest in this diary by the way.
