29/7/2019: Day 1 of germination, I have started the diary now just to keep track of when I started. I am going to be growing using biobizz lightmix soil, and their nutrient range also. I will be veging under a 400w hps and plan to do some low stress training with them too.. and then will be flowering them under a 600w hps. I have started the germination process by placing the seeds directly from the pack into John innes seedling and cutting soil, and saturated the soil lightly with root juice at 1ml/l, and then placed the pots into a heated dome so Fingers crossed we get off to a good start! Will update the details properly when we start seeing some progress! Been waiting since Christmas get these in the dirt so quite excited for this run!
Germination update: so roughly 48 hours after I started germinating in the soil we have life, 4 out of 5 lil troopers have surfaced so off to a flying start so far, hopefully the last one doesn't take long to follow. With decent beans to pot this is a good example of why I like to germinate in the dirt instead of paper towel method ECT.. I find it easier my self and takes just as much time too I find so why faf about with something that works? Next update everything will be set up and these lil
ladies will be growing away in the tent
So last update im going to do this week, I've put them in my small veg tent temporarily whilst I wait for my soil to come, I put them around 18"under a 400w hps but they already look like they are stretching a little so have dropped it 2" and will continue to do so when necessary, going to be transplanting them in a few days into 20l pots so will do my next update after that. Still no sign of the 5th seed but I'm more then happy with the 4 that seem to be off to a good start so not going to complain!
Thanks for checking in!
Pics are from day 8, the girls have been transplanted now into 20l pots with biobizz light mix soil and this will be where they finish growing. Have had to raise my light a few inches as im fighting the heat a little bit at the moment and have started the activera because of it too, 2 of them seem to be staying a little more compact then the other two but either way im looking forward to seeing how they get on!
Will post some more pics once they have settled into their pots!
Update: so we are about 10 days in now since these first started showing, and the fifth seed has decided to make a late appearance as she has just broken through the soil so all in all i have had 100% success with germination this run! Hopefully she will start picking up the pace now!
So onto week 3, pics are at 16days old, have started on the bio grow now but im going to continue with the root juice till i start with the bloom nutes, the 5th seed that sprouted sadly didnt make it (rip northern lights #5) but the other 4 seem to be doing ok, i have started some low stress training this week adjusting the ties daily to try and even them out as much as i can... 2 of them have been showing sex since day 14 though so just hoping they grow quite well during the stretch!
Update is a little late so will be doing an update for week 5 in a few days, girls are 29 days old now. They started showing sex after 2 weeks and are now budding, they arent the biggest autos i have run so i dont think they are going to turn out how i expected.. but still im looking forward too seeing them develop over the next few weeks, i get the impression this is going to be a quick grow, and they
Are to stay fairly small but everything seems to be growing ok though at the moment
So week 5 has gone pretty well, girls are looking lovely and green, i had been struggling with a little with heat up untill last week so they had started stretching a bit along with the flowering stretch, i wasnt able to train them like i wanted to as one looked to have balls on it so thought i stressed her out, plucked the two balls and stopped training them all only for them all to start budding anyway! Ontop of that it would appear that i might need a new bulb because as well as the stretching, despite the hear one or two of them are reaching for the light.. they are starting to produce sugars around the buds now though so hopefully they keep growing well over the next few weeks
