These photo-period Gelat.OGs have just popped and enjoying their first week in the veg tent.
Foxfarms Ocean Forest soil has been amended with Down to Earth nutrients with a ratio conducive to vegetative growth....hopefully 😅
Still just watering only where the seedlings roots may be reaching to prevent and fungus or mold issues in the soil.
Been waiting a while to grow this strain and am very excited to see how the ladies do!
The ladies look like they are ready to explode with growth. At the moment, I am trying to keep them happy by watering when need.
This is the time I would start thinking about plant structure. These are photoperiod plants, so topping is a must to increase yields. I also have LST in the back of my mind, waiting for a bit more vertical growth and its first top to start tying the leading stems down for a more even light distribution.
This has been a busy week in the garden!
The pots are drying out more often now and watering a couple times a week. Both Gelat.OGs have been topped at their main stem and will be waiting for new growth before starting LST. Their vertical and horizontal growth has been amazing. The Gelat's are sharing a tent with 3 Northern Lights Auto's and all seeds were popped at the same time. Joining the crew for a bit were 4 Maui Waui clones that I've been trying to save from a previous borg mite infestation on my previous run.
By the end of this week, the plants should have used all the available nutrients in the soil and top dressing should follow. I opted not to do this, being that this is my first run at this strain. The plan is to wait for deficencies to show to know what to amend the soil with on the next run with clones.
Started LST on the Gelat's this week in hopes to bush out the canopy. I'm also keeping a close eye on the leaves for signs of deficencies.
LST the plant right now by just tieing the main stem down and exposing the lower canopy to more light. I will watch how the lower colas grow and tie them back to, hopefully, keep and even canopy.
The ladies seem to be enjoying their environment so far 😁
All the ladies are looking good! Moved the autoflowers into the flower tent, brought the Maui Waui's back in, and a special guest appearance from a re-veg project going on as well.
This weeks focus was on canopy structure. The method I have chosen to use are LST and Topping/FIMing. As the side branches started to shoot up, the plant was topped one more time. Topping a third time would usually be the next step, but I wanna be cautious not to make the plants too bushy as they are sharing space with 3 simultaneous grows.
This week is pretty much the same as last; Water when needed. Train the canopy by tieing back the higher colas. Monitor for deficencies.
The plants were also feed a full dose of an organic top dressing optimised for vegetative growth. I did stay to see signs of nitrogen deficiency in the lower leaves. A calcium/magnesium deficiency started to show itself, as well as a bit of what I think is phosphorus deficiency. I'm no expert at plant deficencies and am going of of charts and diagrams of cannabis deficencies. If anyone can comment on what they think the ladies need in terms of nutrients, I am all ears!
I've also posted pictures of the effects of FIMing (which is a true FIM, I guess? If it wasnt intentional?! Lol)
Mahalo! 🤙🏽
I have a couple of the gelat.og that I am going to run soon. I am very excited about them also! Sounds like a great strain. Good luck on them. I will follow along
@Wicked_Stix, Right on brotha 🤙🏽 I am currently into week 8 and am just getting around to posting the grow. Can't wait to see how your ladies turn out!
