Hi all!
This grow will be using Destiny Grow System's 4 plant grow kit and nothing else. (hopefully)
Pots are filled with Dark Matter soil. Watered with Amplify (fish hydrolysate and phosphoric acid) to a rough ph of 6.2 to 6.4 although Destiny says anything in the 6 to 7 ph range is acceptable. Once a week the G-Force kelp foliar spray is applied. Weeks 1 and 3 of flower Launch top dressing applied at 250ml per plant. Weeks 2, 4 and 5 will see waterings with Ignition tea brew. We'll see how this pans out, this kit is all new to me and I look forward to seeing the results come harvest day.
Week 1 went fairly smooth!
Week two went as expected. I wasn't careful enough with the day 7 foliar feed and must have left some residual liquid on the new growth tips of one of the lemons. Other than that it was a great week.
Week 3 brought a new home for these ladies and some new lighting around day 19. They have responded well. Strictly sticking to only the Destiny guidelines still.
Interesting week so far. Trying to dial in the new light height as well as droopy leaves from possible over watering here and there up to this point. LST started first thing Day 22, probably a little late but there hasn't been any stretch yet so I think I started in time.
Day 29 morning before lights out, applied another G-Force foliar spray. Things are moving along nicely, I think I'll be adding the week 1 flower "Launch" top dressing in the next few days. LST is keeping a very even canopy which I am happy with. Definitely dealing with 2 different looking phenos.
Day 33 - Earlier in the week I had some light height and intensity issues where I had moved things around and dialed the drivers back up near 100%. This burned a bunch of leaves on some plants in the tent, it has since been corrected.
Day 34 - Watered each plant with roughly 1.2 liters of Amplify treated decholrinated water.
Day 35 - The smaller of the two LPA's is a couple days ahead of the bigger LPA in terms of the amount of pistils it's pushing out. The bigger plant is the one that suffered some light burn this week.
Week 6 was fast moving! Things really started to fill out. This week saw a half dose top dressing as well as a tea drench.
Started noticing some frost developing which was nice to see.
Week 7 has been full of ups and downs.
I learned this week that I have a severe infestation of root aphids. After weeks of one of my other autos having deficiencies and problems that were not fixed by nutes or PH, I found tons of little critters rummaging just below the top of the medium. Given that I am this far into flower I opted dry out the top layer of medium and do a 1:4 ratio of h2o2 and water treatment. Step two will be to apply a liberal dressing of Diatomaceous earth, I'm hoping this will give me enough time to complete the last few weeks of these Lemon Potions.
The root aphids have started to take a toll on my second LPA plant, it's showing deficiencies and bud development has slowed. The healthier and more bud dense LPA is also infested but seems to be less affected at this stage.
A week 3 top dressing of "Launch" was applied this week as well. Since this is the last top dress application for this grow I will be trying to dry out the top layer of medium as much as possible by watering via the bottom of the fabric pots. This in addition to the DE application should "hopefully" give me more time.
The Lemon Potion Autos really started to change this week. Pistils are turning colour but they are still popping new ones. I've been keeping up with Diatomaceous Earth applications to help with the root aphids but they are definitely slowing growth of the plants now. That issue aside, I am still extremely happy with the way these two gals are turning out. The smell of these buds is nothing short of amazing, light citrus with a smooth almost mango/papaya note. I figure a couple more weeks and these ladies will be ready to chop!
Great week overall, I've switched over to plain water now as per Destiny Organic's instructions. I'm super happy with the progression, getting real close to end of flower. As of writing this comment it is currently day 65 and they are showing a decent amount of amber trichomes, ready to harvest any time now. I can't comment enough about how lovely these Lemon Potions smell! Very pleased so far, thank you Barney's Farm!
Chop week! Both LPa's came down on day 65/66. I had a 20% amber trich coverage and was happy with that :)
Couldn't be happier with how these CBD Lemon Potion Autos turned out
Harvested on day 65 and day 66 from seed! Dry weight is about what I figured I would be able to pull, however that is made even better by the absolutely wonderful smell of the buds when dried and curing. Quality over quantity here! My two plants showed two distinctive phenotypes. This also resulted in the buds being a slightly different aroma come cure time. One plant produced smooth smelling citrus with a sweetness making it smell like lemon candy. The other has a similar lemon scent with a lot more earthy undertones. Not as fresh as the first one but nice and very distinctive. 2:1 CBD/THC strains are some of my favourite and the CBD Lemon Potion Auto will be on my list of things to grow again soon. I do not want to run out of this medicine! 9/10 due to the varying phenos, almost perfect.
