Got 2 NL Auto Freebie with my order of Hulkberry :) Thanks Royal Queen Seeds! I am super excited to get growing with my first autoflowering grow and impressed with the 100% germination rate on the beans from rqs. Planted both of the Autos into their 20L homes after germination, nothing fancy, diy paint buckets with enough drainage and some holes drilled on the sides for a bit of air pruning to the roots. The soilmix is a homemade, pretty natural mix amended with quite a bit of perlite for airation. I hope the girls will enjoy their substrate, not sure if autoflowers prefer a special soil different to photo strains. If anybody has advice for me feel free to let me know, happy to learn more here on Growdiaries 😁 Strain Info: Northern Light Automatic Northern Lights is one of the best-known strains of cannabis in the world. This indica cultivar derives from Afghan genetics and was originally bred in the US in the 1970s. In the 1980s, the plant made its way to Holland. Northern Light Automatic infuses the best traits of this iconic strain in a convenient, autoflowering package. -Day 4 - Excited to see the beans pop above the ground, transplanted into their future homes. -Day 5 - NLAuto #2 - Did not open I think it dampened off :( The other seedling is growing strong. -Day 6 - The little plant is growing well, I am just watering with a sprayer at the moment, dampening the soil when it gets dry. -Day 7 - End of week 1 from seed.

Start of week 2 and the little seedling is looking happy and healthy. I will try to monitor the amount of water given this week so that I can be more accurate on the water per 24hr. Day 10 - The soil in the pots dried out quite well after just watering with the sprayer, I gave 150ml of water, if it dries out in 3 days it should be 50ml per 24hr. Day 12 - Soil dried out a lot quicker than I expected, I think it is mostly due to the fact that the semi-dry soilmix in the 20l container is still taking up moisture. I misted with the sprayer to moisten the top of the soil. Day 13 - Gave 150ml water with a very light dosage of kelp, the plant is loving life and looking happy, pushing out the second set of leaves. Happy growing all! Blessings

Start of week 3 and the NLAutomatic is chugging along, really like its fatish leaves. Day 15 - I gave only 100ml of plain water today, it seems they are drinking a bit less, if I have to water again in 3 days it is roughly 33ml per 24hr. Day 18 - Pot was drying out and I gave 50ml of plain water, I will see how fast she dries out. Day 20 - The soil was a little moist, but on its way to dry out, I gave her about 50ml water again today with some GHE nutrients. Peace and love, keep on growing.

The NL Automatic is growing very well and the leaves are now pushing past the edges of its container. I have been feeding half strength nutrients every other feeding, the plant is responding well to the change in her diet. Not sure if I should train her or just let her grow naturally, any ideas welcome. Happy growing friends. :)

Week 5 and what can I say, the NLAuto has blown me away, it is growing like a supercharged plant, very exciting to grow and happy with the health and vigor of the plant. Hats off to RQS. I have been feeding only half-strength nutrients and also not with every watering, some lst training, but I have not tied the plant down, just bending it when I get some time and letting it bend back to the light. Thanks to everybody taking the time to see my diaries. Happy growing!

This week the NLAuto just exploded and growing very fast pushing out lower branches towards the light. I am still only bending the plant over periodically and letting her grow back to the light. This was the last week for the vegetative stage I think as I can see the first pistils. Happy growing everybody, thanks for reading my diaries.

It is the first week of flowering for the NLAuto lady and she is indeed a very pretty plant, took her outside for a photoshoot. I gave no synthetic bottled nutrients this week, but I did feed a light organic mix with some kelp added. There was no particular reason for this, just a busy week, and it was easier this way. Happy growing friends, take it EZ.

What can I say I am in love with this plant, she has been steadily pushing out new growth and flowers, a very pretty plant. Gave half-strength nutrients again this week and she is loving it, I will slowly start to increase the feeding in the next weeks. Thanks for checking out my diary, happy growing!

The NL Auto lady from RQS has grown too big for the little veg box that she was living in, I have decided to finish them outdoors, weather is pretty good. I will have to set up a space for Autos only to test some again, I, unfortunately, have to give my mother plants some space or I might suffer some issues. Adjusted her to the sunlight slowly, over the course of a week and now gets about 7 - 8 hours of direct sunlight every day, when it's not cloudy ofc! Thanks for checking out my diary, keep it blazed up 👊🙌🙏💪

You're a little heavy on the watering my friend, you don't need to water the whole pot at this stage as I can see droopy leaves which indicates you're overwatering. Just a little around the center of the pot until establish roots. Cannabis thrive in a wet/dry cycles, feet wet and ankles dry. I water my plants which are 10 times the size every 3-4 days which I water 5-6 litres at a time until 3-4 days has passed. I hope this helps you!! Looking good otherwise!! 🇨🇦🌴😎👊🙏

@TuPuff, I know what it's like to start out, this is my second grow and I wish someone helped me out the first time but it does get easier in time. It doesn't really matter what you read or hear because everybody has their own opinion how to do techniques and such, but as soon as you get your environment down: temps, humidity, light distance, circulation, then the rest is gravy. Just remember, when you think you need to do something, don't!!! Read what your plants are telling you and then react, start 1/4 strength nutes if using or full strength organic and don't water daily to promote root growth because cannabis thrive on wet/dry cycle and watch out for any signs of deficiency. You're in the right place, if you need help don't hesitate to ask grow questions and the next thing you know it will be harvest time baby, Stalks Strong!! 🇨🇦🌴😎👊🙏

This thing has been in Veg for a long time as an Auto. Try tucking those big fan leaves where possible, if possible to expose the lower sites.

@NeedsMoreFans, Thanks a lot for the advice 🙏, I will put some effort into training her a bit where I can. stoked now that she has finally started to bud.
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommentedweek 46 years ago
@TuPuff, when it comes to training it really depends on how you feel. If you like the look of natural growth then don't worry about it. If you want maximum yield per sq/ft, then you need to train. So people could suggest many things, and different training techniques, but it has to be what you want in the end that determines it. I imagine most people would say train. If you are doing this for medical reasons, then train, no questions asked, you want to maximize your medicinal yield. If this is for fun/hobby, follow your own interests.

@NeedsMoreFans, thanks a lot for your input, I appreciate it. My problem is really space-related, not so much in the height constraints, but to the witdh. I was not sure how big they would get during veg, I will follow your advice and try to maximize my yield with some training, where I can. Thanks again for the advice, happy growing my friend. 🙏

@Wachsemilian, thanks bro :) this NLAuto from RQS is a beast, been away and a bit slow on the updates. I can't🙏💪 wait to get some time to check out your updates I missed!

She's doing amazing man! Good job! Heard they get quite big, so some LST is probably not a bad idea, but you're going to have a beast either way!
