So after writing last weeks post, I didn't want to smother this one so I overwatered it and took a trip up north. Completely shocked when I came back to find it surviving. The damage while still there is healing. Ironically I accidentally learned how to do High-Stress Training through this ordeal.
This week has been uneventful, besides the lessons I learnt in growing. When I was told that this one loves nutes, I wasn't sure what to think. I've been worried that I might overfeed it but instead, it seems to be loving it. The leaves are healthy, it has a very mild smell and is starting to stand on its own. Well, that last one might have nothing to do with the nutes but I feel like they might have helped.
As for watering, that's been an interesting turn. So far this plant has been overwatered at least once a week, then spritzed with water until the following overwatering. I'm debating if I should keep doing this or attempt to regulate the waterings. I feel the later would be better for me to learn as a grower. For now, I'm just going to go with the flow.
This week the plant has only been under the lights in my closet for about 3 hours. Thanks, GreenMachine for the advice and helping me out with it.
Still, need to finish adding the fans to the closet. I've found the work tedious and would rather avoid it. However, based on how this has been doing so far I might not even put it in the closet. I'm still going to finish the build since it's was since I already bought the equipment. It's really more of a question on if at this point.
The one thing I dreaded the most was that this week was going to be the week it needed to be repotted. While I know that I will need to re-pot this one again in a couple of weeks into the final pot, this week was about getting my confidence up about it. Not sure how using an empty beer cup will affect this but I didn't have space for the big pot.
Next week I'm going to start flushing in preparations for the new nutes. Also might as well start LST then to save myself some time. It's clearly getting ready to blow out like crazy, the real question is 'am I ready?'
I've got some handymen coming over to fix things around my apartment in a couple of weeks time. The closet lights I ordered won't arrive until after they've gone. I was wondering, how long can I leave the plant without light?
Ideally, they'll be without it for at least 36 hours.
36 hours without light will be too long. It will stretch and cause problems. If you can get a cheap bulb to hide it somewhere then that would be a lot better. I start my seedlings on a 23w cfl daylight bulb. You can get a 4 pack for like $10 at home improvement stores. I will post a link below to the lights I use. Hope that helps
These lights work great for seedlings. Not sure if it is an option but it would be a lot better than no light.
