This week started great but went down hill fast in the last 24 hours. Basically the seedling was doing fine on the window until this morning when I noticed the leaves were falling over. On closer inspection I noticed that the stem had been damaged. It's such a let down but I've propped it up with a pencil.
Over the next couple of days I'm expecting it to die. In the meantime I'll keep watering it.
The sister plant, a cream cookies strain, will have to take its place in the closet. Most of this week I've been preparing a grow bucket. I still need to wire it but that shouldn't take long. Need to find my soldering iron and it should be all good.
I'm completely devastated by the damage. This plant looked like it would have been my first to make it to the flowering stage. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past and honestly it hurts every time I mess up I feel like it's another set back. I get that I learn from my mistakes but I can't figure out how this one got damaged.
I've got some handymen coming over to fix things around my apartment in a couple of weeks time. The closet lights I ordered won't arrive until after they've gone. I was wondering, how long can I leave the plant without light?
Ideally, they'll be without it for at least 36 hours.
36 hours without light will be too long. It will stretch and cause problems. If you can get a cheap bulb to hide it somewhere then that would be a lot better. I start my seedlings on a 23w cfl daylight bulb. You can get a 4 pack for like $10 at home improvement stores. I will post a link below to the lights I use. Hope that helps
These lights work great for seedlings. Not sure if it is an option but it would be a lot better than no light.
