Germination happened really fast on this one. It caused me to make a change to my plans. The plan was to drop it straight into its final pot but I wasn't able to get it ready. I was layering a pot with layers of banana peel, used coffee grounds and coco coir. This was originally to help me if I forgot to give it nutrients.
Since day 4, it's hasn't grown as much. I'm trying to avoid putting in under a grow light but it's probably been under the light longer then on the intended windowsill.
Moving forward the plan is to switch between the light and windowsill until 3 or more nodes have formed. At which point I'll leave it on the window for the rest of the grow. I want to focus on LST for this, I want to see how far I can go with it.
So I had to overwater this about 5 days ago. Needed a break and took a trip up North to visit friends for a while.
I think that giving this one nutrients early may have lead to the new leaves being less serrated. Doesn't matter since I'll be switching to a different formula at the end of the month. Just waiting for payday.
Nothing special has happened or really note worthy. The stem began to fall over, hence why this one is now propped up with a pencil. I think I will repot this one in a couple of days. Just to bury the excess stem.
I notice that the fan leaves are coming out faster compared to my other grow. I can't wait to see this one enter true vegetation phase, I want to do some LST but to an extreme level.
So the deformed leaves seem to have been getting worse the bigger they get. I plan on trimming these leaves soon. Not yet, need to wait for some more leaves to develop.
Watering seems to be good and the plant seems to enjoy the nutrients. I want to start a flush but seeing as how my other plant didn't like being taken off them I'm not going to risk the same here.
The goals moving forward is to find a new pot to move this into. Replanting will definitely be happening in the future but I don't want a full-sized pot but I don't want anything too small either. Looking into fabric pots to help get some air to the roots.
The longer this one takes the closer I get to abandon it. Originally this was meant to be a back up to my other grow but when I look it now all I want to do is burn it.
The new pots and nutes came in today. Starting tomorrow I'm going to give this some tlc. Starting off with some root juice followed up with the new formula.
In the meantime I'm going to grow some lemon balm, lavender and basil to stop me from thinking about this one. It's ironic, originally I was caring for this one more than the other. I"m sure it'll change again.
So part of this grow is the random factor. It's not really had that many changes in the past week.
I really messed up and wish I could go back and fix them sooner. Not ready to grow another one of these for a while. Since winters coming I’m going to try something else completely.
