Shot in the dark - Turns out awesome!

I had some seeds laying around for the last few months, after a big move and seeing what kind of sun and privacy we had I decided to germ some year old seeds. Used compost, and potting soil as a starter soil. Germinated in two days.

A few weeks in, lost a few pictures. This was still 18 hours of light, floros were inches from top of plants, and only feed water. She was topped about one week before this and responded wonderfully, but definitely a runt.

5 weeks in. Lost some pictures due to deleting them. This is about 5 weeks in now. She really responded to topping. After week 4 we did start adding fish fertilizer every other feeding to give her boost.

Week 6. A tad behind on updates but she is growing like a weed. She really took off after some intense training, bending, and topping. She has about 8-10 large colas and side shoots and moving along wonderfully. She still hasn’t shown her sex yet but I am pretty confident based on growth and her “pre-flowers” that she’s a gal. Lots of growth in between the nodes while she is she bent down. High stress training and bending has really opened up the canopy. Plan on doing some taking off some bottom leaves and cleaning her bottom canopy up.

Week I here going strong. I am done topping. I found an area that gets good sun and trimmed some bushes and it helped a lot. She easily gets 8 hours of direct sun a day!

week 8. Still doing good. Still getting nutes about very 6 days or so, and water every three. It has been rainy in my area so sometimes nature’s takes care of it for me. I stopped any major bending of branches, I think she’s ready for flower, any day now! She started stretching easily about 6 inches over the last few days, and something tells me she is stretching for flowers! Fingers crossed!!

Very excited for this update. After 9 long weeks she finally showed her true colors! Happy to see pistils showing up on most of the TOP bud sites. She has a very pungent smell within about 2 feet of the plant, got a nice, lemony, kush type smell, excited to see how she looks while she grows and fattens up. I also was lucky enough to pull a few cuttings from her BEFORE I knew her sex, I could tell on her pre-pre flowers I was pretty confident she was a female so I cut 7 smaller shoots off and they are rooting as we speak.

She’s growing nicely, the buds are really starting to slowly take shape, and the internodes are showing good bud sites. I doubt I will have any large main colas, but lots smaller medium sized ones hopefully. I tied her down to get more sunlight to the middle canopy, and she is getting a dose of Bloom boost via miracle grow. 8-27-15 type deal.

The last week she started to really packing on more buds and growth. I notice a lot of the internodal growth developed and grow up to the next bud. It looks like we got the build up of some colas, but right now, everything is about the width of finger, nothing to big, yet! We easily have about 10-12 good grow points, and lots of popcorn developing due to the canopy being open with all the tying down, so we should have a good yield for the amount of time, and effort I have spent on it. Some of the buds are already showing trichome development, and the smell is SOOO strong. Even just walking by it, I can smell it. Sometimes I notice I might of touched a bud with my nose smelling it, and later I will catch a wiff of it still lingering, so goooood! I started doing nutes every almost twice a week, with one feeding of water in between. She is going through about 2 gallons every 2-3 days or so depending on the heat. I upped the nutes a TAD during the last feeding to test her out, haven't noticed any burn or issue with over doing it as of yet, but I will keep you updated.

Another week another update. Feeding her every about 2 days now. Every other feeding she gets nutes. I haven’t seen any issues with the nutes, even after upping the dose. So I might up the frequency to maximize her bud formation until flush and harvest time. She is pretty damn stink too. If you are within 10 feet of her, she has a pungent skunk smell and heavy lemon notes. It’s amazing.

Another week, more progress! Buds are thickening up, and building up lots of trichomes! Heavy skunk and lemon smell, she is so stinky, that my clothes smell like skunk for 15 minutes or so when I move the plant and carry it to its sunnier position during the midday. Need to get a jewelers loop or at least a magnifying glass to see how cloudy these trichomes are. I am thinking she has another 3-4 week or so.

Week 12. We are about in our 5th week of flower. She is still showing at least 30% of her hairs turned brown. Haven’t checked the trichomes yet, but I plan on getting my hands on a good keepers loop. I think she has about 3 weeks left or so. Definitely filling out and getting some weight on her. I harvested a few smaller branches to test my drying method and also test potency. She had a strong heavy head high and very cerebral, definitely some sativa couch lock going on! I am hoping to get at least two ounces from her!

Had a good week of growth, took some test branches down to practice my drying method. First run I dried it way too quick, so this next run they have dried for almost 7 days and still not brittle, so the buds should be ready for some jars soon. I have 1/2 of the plant left to harvest! L Plan on grabbing a jewelers loop to check the Trichomes but right now, she’s only showing about 30-50 % of orange hairs, so she definitely needs more time.

Overall harvest was around 2.25 oz. I chopped part of her down early to practice drying, which was a good idea, because by the second round to dry I had my system down. Dried them for about 8 days in the garage, then still curing for about 1 week and half now. The other batch just got put into jars, and is one day two of its cure. The smoke was not harsh, very heavy head high that locked me down, which screamed it’s indica traits. Overall I am very happy with the results, and look forward to growing the two clones and mother I had of her to continue working on her genes and traits. Not bad for “bag seed” !!
