GG is takin off...TG decided to join the party late on account of my ignorance 🤦♂️🤣...great healthy retard strength growth...starting nutes in a couple days, sure wish sm1 could help me with my soil PH lol
Yes hello, I have a question. How do u alter soil PH and keep it between optimal grow range? Seems like no matter the PH of water i put in...the soil always drys closer to 7 or above....which makes me think that I have to physically alter the soil but Idk where i would start.
In soil you'll have no difficulties to grow with a 7ph even if a 6.5 in flowering is the average range. The soil have a self buffering propriety so it's mean that you'll be close to 7 each time you water except if you have a big difference between your nutrients mix ph and the soil ph for ex soil is 7 and mix is 5 but it will create a ph fluctuation. No need to check the runoff PH except if you'r growing in coco.
@indoorontario, yea see i read that it does fairly well with nutes between 5.5-6.8...but i cant get the fucker under 7 🤦♂️...i get it down to 5...and then it drys and reads about 6.8-7.4...too high...although my GG is growing crazy in the 7+ soil...havent gave any nutes yet...plan on givin just PH adjusted water for the first 2 weeks so i can get the soil down pat...got the FF trio for any wonderers lol...soil is half FFOF, maybe 15% ammended autoflower living organism mix, and the rest perlite....also pretty much flushed the shit out of the soil with a couple gallons in the beginning cuz i was worried about the soil PH...first time grow is an anxiety attack, worse then the first born lol a fuckin headache i swear...but also ADHD so very impatient ha
@Certifyed252, I can't say I know a lot about soil by any means , but from what I understand is that you want your water between 6.5 and 6.8 and the soil itself will do some buffering which protects the plant. As long as you stay in that range you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about the run off ph unless you start seeing problems. Also I don't know how much water you are giving but you should really just keep your soil damp, you don't really need to have a ton of runoff unless you are flushing.
@indoorontario, thank u sir, hopefully with much trial and little error my first grow will be a high quality high yielded one.....right now, my biggest worries are soil PH, no matter how much i pour acidic water in, it always drys at about 7 or higher in some spots...leaving me with the only thought of having to physically alter the soil which at this point is pretty much impossible i feel like....any tips would be greatly appreciated, seems that i planted the tang dream upside down and never broke its shell, ripped it out and just planted another today
If ph is giving you problems get some Advanced Nutrients . It's formulated to be in the right range. Works great and I have no deficiencies and get 5-7 oz per plant! I don't top just LST .
@Wildotter , @indoorontario , i was randomly doin research and found the answer to the soil ph...aluminum sulfate.... 1/2 cup will lower a 5gal pot by 1.0ph...just for future reference...would start with 1/4 and work up to 1/2 as not to lower to far...but yes, the soil ph did lower to good zone with just one water and dry of the soil.
