Germination using paper towel method, then placed in Jiffy pellet, then transferred to cup filled with experimental soil, mixed with coco soil, coco coir, homemade compost (non food scrap), and fine crush rinsed gravel. Day 4 transfer to .50 gal clear container with same soil mix, to note subsurface water retention when placed in the direct sunlight. Note: Coco soil was obtained from a coconut tree that was killed by an invasive species of Rhino Beetle from Japan, I cut the tree down to stop further infection. The larvae of the beetle continued to feed on the third layer, and core of the tree trunk, producing a soil like medium as a by product, trees' second layer consisted of a finer strands similar to coir, the outer layer consisted of thicker heavier strands, which I'll use as surface cover once I place plant into ground. All three mediums were washed with plain water and sun dried five times to remove any possible traces of sodium, as coconut trees thrive on the element. Then mixed, 20% coco soil, 30% coir, 40% compost, and 10% fine course gravel.
