Greeting and salutations. I have a plan to create an Oasis in my bedroom, in the form of Oasis Genetics all around. Three in the tent, and one under my fish tank. This Journey is all about the Northern Lights crossed with Big Bud. I have never tried either of the parent strains, but have heard all about them growing up. Along with all the strains I am growing inside, I will be doing an outside comparison also, just happens to be 1 full week behind this one. Peaceout Mosucka's, see you next week.
Greeting growers, and you too Steve. Not much to report for now, as they are just coming into full veg mode. Things will certainly start picking up in the next few days or so. Gave the NLxBB 1.5ml of Medi 1/liter of water. I filled a 2 liter jug up with 3ml of Medi 1, then split that up between 4 710ml bottles. 2 got straight nutrient, and 2 were filled half with mix and then topped up with water. Very little runoff that was soaked back up very soon. I am hoping they will be able to start the LST in the next week or two, as I am eager to spread the canopies out again, something I haven't done in the last few grows, and suffered for it. Good smoke, just not near enough to last me. Peaceout Mosuckas.
Greetings. This little feller is growing the slowest out of any strain I have grown. It is growing really well though, extremely healthy looking. Space between nodes is not even 1 cm, more like half a cm. Should make for some nice tightly spaced buds. maybe this will give me the picture to enter as a donkey phallus. As I have never tried NL before, I am super excited to give this one a shot. Someday I will get NL in a photoperiod, so I can truly see what it is all about, and of course I will be keeping close tabs in my journal, and uploading it all here. That is all I have for now, Peaceout Mosuckas.
Going really well so far, finally starting to put the height in. Forgot to start the LST last night, so I did it first thing this morning. Thought about just letting it bush out and just grow naturally, but I want to maximize overall yield. Little bit of smell coming from the leaves, but nothing to worry about. Peaceout Mosuckas.
Little bugger decided it's time to start jumping well into flowering. Looking like a possible early harvest, or a long time to fully ripen. Decided it was time to stop the training, and let him go vertical now. I love the way this little guy is going, so I will drop another seed very shortly, and let him go naturally. Peaceout Mosuckas
Well this little feller is certainly a speedy devil. Starting to really take off towards the sky. Just look at that stretch. Contemplating if I should tie him down one last time before letting him go. Probably will, but I will decide very soon. I am actually quite surprised on its overall size, as I know Northern Ligts can get large. This isn't my only run with this strain, I will certainly be doing another one in the very near future. Peaceout Mosuckas
I should really start some more of these seeds soon. The growth is great, albeit small, but still awesome. The denseness of the buds is ridiculous, I have yet to achieve anything close to this yet. Its not the light I know that, so the genetics is high quality. The smell is normal, until agitated, then it smells sweet and fruity, like bubblegum. I can't wait to try this out, I am very pleased with it so far. If you notice on the close up of the cola, you can see just how closely stacked those buds are, and they still have a heck of a lot of fattening up left to do. Peaceout Mosuckas
Not much changing now, as it's just bulking up nicely. The smell is stronger, no need to rustle it at all to release the smell. Very fruity and sweet still, almost like a chewing gum flavour I've had before. Similar to juicy fruit, but not as intensely sweet. Trichome production is in full swing, leaving all buds coated throughout the plant. So far it is contending for my favourite strain, which should not be hard to beat. Peaceout Mosuckas
Not much has changed at all, still just slowly bulking up. Hairs are starting to turn red and are starting to die back. Trichome production still seems to be going strong, plant is just covered. There is some purple hues on some leaves, making for some nice looking buds.
When you combine the smell, bud density, trichome coverage, branch strength, and compact size, there is no doubt as to why I already have a new one started in one tent, and slated for another. Keep an eye out, one will be grown with a TS-1000, and the other under a 315 CMH. If you haven't already noticed, this bad boy was just cut down. I hadn't watered it in a few days, so the dirt was very dry. Very satisfied with the wet weight, and I'm positive I will be satisfied with the dry weight. Cannot wait to fill out the final report but that's a pleasure worth waiting for. Peaceout Mosuckas
I harvested this beauty on Tuesday November 5th, so it has not yet had enough time to dry, but I will certainly be updating once it has. I weighed the plant just after it was cut down, and then at least every two days since. I want to see how the bud changes as it dries, and how much weight is evaporating in between. As with all my other plants during drying, the smell is only pleasant when tousled, otherwise it doesn't smell very nice. Once touched a little, the sweet bubblegum smell is still very much alive, cannot wait for this to cure. I will certainly give a post dry, pre cure smoke report, but not until at least it dries for two more days. Looking forward to growing this again, which has already begun. Peaceout Mosuckas.
*November 12th, 2019 UPDATE*
After the initial dry, I came out with a beautiful 27.6 grams. So far I am very pleased with how it smokes. Very smooth, and extremely clean. Much stronger than I had anticipated, I really do not feel like going out right now. Considering I haven't done any curing yet, and only dried, this is without a doubt the best tasting plant I've ever grown. Once lit, there was no longer any fresh "green" taste at all, transitioned instantly to a sweet and delicious flavour. I feel like a kid again, being this excited to start another plant. I look forward to the cure update. Peaceout Mosuckas.
This was not only one of the easiest plants to grow, but it was also the most surprising and impressive. While mine grew short and stacked, I know it can produce a much larger plant. I won't be training my next run, which is underway now. The smell of this plant is the most appealing of all the plants I've grown. Its sweet smell of bubblegum brings me back to my childhood, opening a piece of Bazooka Joe to read the comic while chomping on that memorable piece of gum. Oh that flavour, this plant brings it on strong. Peaceout Mosuckas
Just a suggestion, you might want to try and get your temps down to the mid to high 70’s or your heat stress your babies. Also the humidity should be a bit higher when in seedling stage, somewhere around 55-60% RH and are they an autoflower or photoperiod?
@Jeffro4140, While I have had some plants in the past show some signs of heat stress with the taco leaves, but other than that everything has gone smoothly. Plants are all autos. The tent is in my room, and my room has a South facing wall and window, so it absorbs a lot of heat. For now I am not worried about the temps and RH, as we are just heading into Autumn now, the temps will fall along with it. Once the RH starts to dip, I will be putting the humidifier back inside the tent. Next summer grow season I will be moving my tent into the basement, where its always very cool. All 4 of my hygrometers show it is very warm inside the tent, even had a week of over 34C outside, so it was nearly 40 in the tent. Days like that I just open it up and direct a floor fan to blow inside and remove the heat. If I had more money to invest in my setup, I would certainly have it all set in a way the temps were way lower. Odd thing is, my friend has a tent with some of the same strains, and my plants are twice the size of his. Only difference, other than tent size, is he has several air conditioners in his apartment to keep the temps around 21C. Much better temp to be growing in, just not as much yield as I can get. I mix his dirt, adn I put it in the buckets, so I know there is nothing different between our grows other than nutes and temps
