Starting my 2nd grow(s) before my harvesting my first grow, hoping to cut down on some waiting time :D Using the Vivosun 3x2 tent with a HLG QB96 Elite V2 running at 200w (currently flowering first grow) It took 2 and a half days for her to sprout, super keen to see how she goes compared to a 5 gal container. I'm also going to not start LST as early this time, let her get a little taller so I have an easier time watering. The first week seems to have been business as usual, she's alive so I'm stoked!

She seems to be growing pretty quick, every time I look at her I'm impressed with the growth. I am interested in if this is because of the 1 gallon pot compared to the 5 gallon pot. The roots needed less time to fill out the pot and now she's focused on plant development is my guess. If she continues growing at the rate she is I will probably end up topping her, I'm super excited to see where she goes!

I am super impressed with how quickly she is growing. All I have to do is keep watering when dry, pHd to 6.5-6.8, until day 35 and then I will top dress with more Gaia Green. I'm also looking into topping autos a little more, she's growing so well that I really want to give it a try. -later thought- definately won't be topping, just want to see how she grows.

I probably sound like a broken record but I am super impressed with how strong she is growing. If this is how S.A.Ds grow I will be definitely keeping them in my lineup. They don't grow tall but it looks like they will get nice and dense if given the chance. The growth rate that they show (at least in a 1 gal fabric pot) means that you could totally get away with topping. I'm going to run my last 2 seeds at the same time next time, one I will top to see if there is an increase in yeild. All I'm doing until around day 35 is watering when dry pHd between 6.5-6.8. When growing using dry organic amendments in coco this is the ideal pH as it is closer to a soil grow than a hydroponic grow. All of my growing knowledge has been obtained through watching Mr Canucks Grow on YouTube, check him out if you want to learn how to grow the easiest organic buds ever.

There was gradual yellowing on the lower leaves and silly me thought I had another week before needing to top dress. This was not the case and the yellowing is definetely a nitrogen deficiency. On day 30 I begun LST. On day 32 I came to my senses and top dressed, hopefully I didn't wait too long! On day 33 I tied down all the tops poking up. It's interesting how small this strain seems to stay.

It looks like lower leaves are yellowing again... Since this is the second time growing and the first time was in a 5 gallon I don't think I quite understand how that effects feeding with dry amendments. I top dressed on day 42, this is a full week earlier than I originally intended. 1 gal pots may be just a little too small for using a Gaia Green style grow.

Plants in smaller pots want to be fed more frequently when using dry organic amendments like Gaia Greens range. It seems like the feeding instructions would work well in maybe a 4 gallon pot, then you can feed once every 3/4 weeks but in a 1 gallon it's more like it needs to be top dressed every 2 weeks. The grow itself is going nicely, she's yellowing quicker than last time because of the smaller pot size. Wonder if that means she will be ready quicker

She is fading so quickly, the feeding regime that I have used for this 1 gal pot is obviously wrong. She needs to be fed much more often in this sized container, which makes total sense. Lesson learnt!

Sorry for the lack of updates on my grows, life has been busy and if I put all the effort into my diary I'm afraid I wouldn't be as active in the garden. My patience got the better of me as I decided to put her into darkness after this photo. I'm pretty sure her nugs would have continued to fatten if I just left her but now there is more room for potentially bigger plants.

SAD Auto is some fantastic smoke however it appears that genetics will dictate it to be a smaller plant. I would not recommend using a 1 gallon pot, minimum would have to be 3 gal especially when using slow release dry organic amendments. If you are planning on a PC stealth grow, or grow in similar small places, this strain will be perfect! Her effects are extremely indica, definately a night time smoke. Good for nausea and pain.

I learnt a valuable lesson about pot size, don't use 1 gallons! It's nice to have different results to compare with each other, it would be nice to know how much of the varience is from genetics alone though. This strain is VERY easy to grow, highly recommend for beginners. Don't expect monster yields though, just some lovely tasting smoke with fantastic effects! Also I highly recommend bud washing! It was crazy to see all the dust and dirt floating in the first wash after I was done. Doing this noticeably reduced harshness in comparison to my first grow. I will be bud washing from now on.

@GanjaFarmerGrow, thanks for the feedback! It's good to know that they grow small, I started LST on my first one too early and she never got taller than a foot. I'm super happy with how much oomph they have though! Thanks again for checking her out! :D

it's very interesting to watch your diary. I wish you a hard harvest of buds. What do you prefer to use a Bong or a joint. 4-20 Bro. subscribed and watching your grow.👍

@EZgrower, happy to have you tag along! Hope this grow isn't too disappointing though, the nugs are hard but could have been bigger 😝 I started smoking with bongs and haven't found anything quite the same, bongs all day bro! How about you? I'm glad to have you around! 🤙🤙

@Sweet_Seeds, for sure we do. The good thing is that I've learned that there's a relationship between "pot-size:feeding-speed:required-food/feeding" when using organic dry amendments like Gaia Green. If only I knew the relationship or had enough resources to test until I do. From what I've gathered and from my growing experience I think this genetic would do perfect in a 3gal fabric pot with this grow style, the 5 was overkill and the 1 is too small :P Thanks for following along again!

@Sweet_Seeds, I slipped up and didn't amend my medium in time! The top is still healthy 🙄 I have another bean in the dirt, I have a better schedule for that one now!

Good move on the early planting. If you got the space... then of course do it. Seedling looks healthy. 💚🌱💚 You are brave doing autos. I have failed on autos. And then I finally woke up. As I usually dont veg for more than 4 weeks ... I dont find autos much of a benefit. All it would do is shave a few weeks off... but the downside is that autos are rather unforgiving... no time for healing.

@Puffer_Bill, it's a little tight in my 3x2 at the moment so as soon as the first S.A.D is done I'll be just running this, the cheese Auto (and a sugar snap pea :P) which should line up with their increasing light demand. I am looking forward to running photos, but I want to get a good quality flowering tent. Vivosun are great for the price but golly there are a lot of light leaks.. I can't wait to experiment with all the extra training methods though. Every day in the garden is so stressful with my older auto.. she's so short and bushy with such tight internode spacing that it can be quite a rough procedure trying to adjust LST or even tuck leaves away.. I had a side branch rip off in week 3 (I think) it probably stunted her a little bit, leading right into the start of flower :P I'm just super impatient and wanted buds as quick as possible, next time I'll definitely be more on the photoperiod side of the shopping cart
