Tried some LST to open her up a little. I'm pleased. It will certainly continue. Feedings are still light- roughly half of recommended dose but we'll bump that up next week. I'm pretty stoked about bokashi. I ordered a couple of buckets that would come in a few days. Looking forward to making organic teas. Also on that note, I ordered a worm composter. So I should be getting some good castings in a few months too.

The yeast fermentation is real. Day 17. - The ghetto CO2 generator did it's thing! They all exploded yesterday. I fed this morning @ full strength (1mL/L) Green Buzz Organig Grow Liquid, with about 1.5tsp molasses, and 1mL of Bokashi EM Juice (not bokashi tea, but the EM inoculant). After feeding I tied up and down. Ponytails for the top fan leaves, to expose the bottom nodes. And stakes to get the bottom nodes a bit more horizontal. My GSC is from Lineage Genetics. At first, when I realized that I was bummed. I wanted to get the bean from FastBuds. But now, I am in no way disappointed. This pheno is looking awesome. The growth on the underneath nodes is stellar. I bumped up the smell in my diary to 'strong'. It's not flower smell yet, but the veg smell is reeking. A friend noticed it as soon as I opened my vent-room door. But the good news is that she said she couldn't smell anything before then. When I open the tent, it's so strong that it's dank already. Again, not a flower smell...but I've never smelled a stronger veg-oder than these. Nobody could ever convince me that yeast is futile or too much work. The growth from day 16-->17 was simply mind-blowing. I'm expecting more tomorrow, after the heavy feeding today. Day 20. So...some news. Yesterday I got the new fan. Freaking sweet- screw that clip on fan nonsense. And today, I've been busy. Non-tent related... I put together a worm farm. So I'm hoping for castings in a few months. Fed the bokashi bucket. I've had a problem with fungus flies (look like gnats, but live in soil). Elsewhere, notice that this falls under 'Non-tent related' :D. So I removed the top inch of soil in that houseplant, sprayed a soapy water mixture and covered with 1.5 inches of sand. I'm including this here, because I was terrified that those dudes would somehow find their way to my tent (on the other side of the house). But I think I've seen the last of them. Tent related... I watered with a nice castings tea that brewed for about 24 hours. I hope I didn't f*ck up. I hit GG and Strawberry Cheesecake with it before I pH'ed it down. So they got dosed at around 7.6. I went back to them and hit them with a cup of pH'ed tea (6.5). Then the light cut off, and it was their bedtime. I had to wait for LST until after their nap. But while they were on black out, I got a package. Some dope-AF smartplugs. I can now control my LED, my exhaust, and my air mover from my phone. There's a built in digital timer where I can schedule on/off's. And it *measures* my usage! :D How cool is that?! Welcome to the space age. I also got a USB microscope, which is also badass. So look for pics from that in the coming weeks... Later when the light went back on (courtesy of my new smartplug!) I went back and did LST and pics for today.

Day 22. GSC is still the tallest out of the group. She has signs of heat stress, but I don't want to raise the light higher than the others need it. I'm more concerned with the beginnings of what I suspect to be a calcium deficiency. I'm on tap water, so I haven't been supplementing. But it looks like I'll need to if she's hungry for it. Day 23. So big thanks to those who replied to my question. I heeded the advice that my soil is warm enough, and feedings were overkill. I watered with pH'ed water this morning and the girls are all looking very healthy today. I don't think there was lockout...or if there was, the water did the trick. I'll continue with just water for another 2-3 weeks. Thanks again, fellas! Day 24. Training last week in her was a shit show, but I think I got her trunk patched up. Training with the new foam coated wire I got is a dream...also did some defoliation today, exposing bud sites. Day 26. Still water only. She's stretchy AF. Gonna have to train her shoots in a spiral form soon.

So in the last 3 pics from Day 22...am I seeing a calcium deficiency? She gets tap water, which I was hoping has sufficient calcium. But now I'm thinking I might need some Cal/Mag. Is she hungry for calcium?

Hi @RandomNoob! I think you have a combination of heat stress and over-feeding. The leaves are curling upward, they're telling you that the canopy gets too hot, so raise your light up, increase your lamp-to-plant distance and make sure the canopy gets a cool continuous breeze / a decent airflow. Now they're also very dark green, and show some spots, the spots must have appeared because of a nutrients-lockout situation, and that situation was caused by too much nutrients / a high EC during the previous weeks. Do you have an EC-meter? If you give tap water, that water might be too hot for cannabis, adding OrganicGrowLiquid makes your solution too strong for your rootmass. At this stage, let the medium dry a bit then flush it with pure pH'd water (tap water that has been sitting for a few hours, or RO water), let it dry again (a small fan blowing on the container might help) and see how the plant reacts before adding nutrients again. If you do not have an EC-meter, go grab it asap to your local growshop, this will dramatically help you to understand what's your giving to your rootmass. Hope this will help, let us know how this goes, and happy growing! 👊

Day 29. Freed her from tie downs. Hung the scrog net and now she's there. I'm seeing the precursor to pre-flowers if there's such a thing. New growth is getting dense, and leaf tips are hard to discern as such...they look like pistils at first glance. But I'm fairly certain that they'll be green. I guess this is the last set of close-up pics of GSC until the end. Next up, scrog pics! Day 34. Week 5 coming to a close. Im not entirely happy with the large spacing ok the scrog net, so I ordered another with 1 inch squares. QB288 should be here Monday. The coming few weeks should be interesting... Im gonna have to put in some work to mount the quantum boards on each side of my COB, and get the second layer trellis in place. After that, I think my canopy penetration will improve greatly. I think then the light will reach the stuff that would otherwise become larfy butter material. I also started paying attention to VPD this week...that meant, in practice, dropping RH from 75 to 55%. VPD is important! If you're reading this, check it out of your not familiar. The difference was noticeable. Day 35. She's showing the most advanced flowers, which isn't a surprise because she showed hers first.

Day 37. Heavy defol on the entire canopy last night. QB came today. Watered @ 6.5pH. No nutes yet, but probably soon. 24°C 49%. I'll include some individual pics tomorrow. Preflowers are happening for a few days now. The stink is *real*. God, I love it. But I hooked up the carbon filter for anonymity's sake. Funny thing- I forgot that I connected it. Woke up like, 'Hmm...? Is everything ok? Why doesn't it smell like a dank skunk got hit by a truck?! ... Oh, right.' Things are good. Day 39. First flower feeding. Some veg nutes, and very low flower nute dose. Hoping to ease the transition. Hope nothing goes wrong. 97ppm, so yeah...going slow with nutes. GSC and Tangie are my sativa dominant hybrids, so they got 1/2 strength compared to the others. Additionally today they all got 1.5L (50% more). Things are still good, I hope. VPD is between 1.35 and 1.4 throughout the tent (got an IR thermometer today). 🙂 Day 41. Stronger feed today. 340ppm. 19.1°C. pH6.6. Hope she can take it. I think shell be ok. Soil isn't as hot as it was 3 weeks ago.

Day 51. I've kinda been taking a break from all social media, so...sorry about the lack of updates for a couple weeks. I had a lockout situation across the board. I considered pulling the plug on the whole grow, but I'm glad I didn't. They're picking up nicely and I'm thinking of feeding next week. Once I see the runoff drop to acceptable levels, they'll get what they need. They're still stacking up nicely, and starting to show some frost. So, yeah. I know where I fucked up. Next run will be spot on. This one- is what it is. Day 53. Sorry in advance, but this might turn into a long comment for a GD comment. I feel much better. I just solved the mystery of my lockout issue. The backstory goes like this. I’m in a super soil, similar to FFOF, different brand tho. At about 5 weeks, I fed lightly and they burned. So I was naturally hesitant with the next feeding. Now for 2.5 weeks since then, they’ve been getting just water. And (sadly) they’re showing heavy signs of deficiency (P mostly, but also N and Mag). So in week 6, I measured my runoff. It was over 1100ppm. “Fuck,” I thought. But they were still growing and stacking, some even showing the first signs of sugar. So I decided, ok… it *MUST* be a lockout. That would explain why my runoff is so hot, and why they’re not uptaking properly. So I forced myself to give just water for one more week. Today I’m seeing severe signs of deficiency. Everywhere. Clearly P, Mag, and N (though I’m less concerned with the N). These necrotic spots literally make me sick. They turn my stomach. So today, I water only again. And test my runoff. 1400ppm. WHAT. IN. THE. PAST. PRESENT. AND. CONCURRENT. FUTURE. FUCK. IS. REALLY. GOING. ON? So. I decided that I just don’t accept that. I looked at my situation critically. Fabric pots, in individual, small (almost form fitting) runoff trays. To measure runoff, I jab my EC meter in a corner of one of those trays. Like I said, I refused to accept that. I suspected that these trays were somehow contaminating my readings. But then it dawns on me…ppm isn't dependent on volume. So I snatch a half cup of soil and mix it 50/50 with water (tap@~80ppm, known). PPM reading should’ve been off the charts, around 1400. It read 128ppm. My eyes nearly dropped out of my head. I’m watching my girls waste away… as a result of a design flaw in my grow, not because I’m a terrible gardener and I should just give up. So I mixed a ¾ strength batch of flower nutes and fed on top of the watering. I had to mop up some runoff, but my dehum is set to 50% and they’ll dry out tomorrow night at latest. Long story short… mystery solved, or at least I’m betting the farm on my hunch. So I’ll either see some improvements in the coming days/week or everything will die, including my hopes and dreams. Day 55. GSC isn't lazy. She might even be a little bit further than Strawberry Cheesecake. Most of her leaves have yellowed, so I top dressed some worm castings. My bloom nutes don't have any N, and my grow nutes have P & K. Rather than risk burn or lockout, I thought a top dress would be safe.
