sowed 9 MK Ultra & 1 Gorilla Glue #1 on Sept 10, 2019
9 sprouted Sept 13, 2019
1 MK Ultra left to sprout
During the first week they'll be under the T5's getting established. I reused the coco from my last grow to start these. I used a garden sieve to clean it and mixed a light blend of nutrients (Calmag, micro, & grow to 150ppm @ 5.5PH) to saturate it before sowing.
I was quite impressed with every aspect of the MK Ultra from the last grow. The plant was easy to maintain and yielded over 5 oz of amazing medicinal buds. I learned a lot from the experience and look forward to building on that knowledge to enhance my skills as a gardener.
Sept 15 - a few of the girls were looking a little stretchy under the CFL so I went ahead and put them under the small LED.
Sept 18 - switched to 18/6, all looking healthy and should unfold the second set of fans soon. I noticed a few seedlings stretching as if they were trying to avoid excess light. I know the light is powerful enough for that area maybe too much too close? Changed to the big lights and raised them to a safe position for early growth and that should make a difference. Medium is still moist and I haven't watered at all. light spritzing twice a day for a week.
*I will be transplanting directly from the solo cups to 7 gal fab pots at around 2 weeks. I believe the transplant will be a breeze with the roots having time to establish.
Sept 21-27
All going well, preparing for transplant to 7 Gal fabric pots. I have only irrigated once since sowing directly into the coco medium.
Last crop I used dry coco and flushed it myself and felt that was the cause of some of my problems with nutrients. I’ll be using a blend of fine, fiber, and chunk coco coir with a 30% fine grade perlite blended in. This stuff looks and feels great.
Sept 24
Transplanting complete, lightly watered into their final pots. Will saturate the coco tomorrow with an early veg solution to get them going.
2ml/Gal calmag,micro,grow
1ml/Gal bloom

Sept 28-Oct 4
Sept 28 - Up to this point I've only watered twice since seeding. When I prepped the 7 gal pots the mix was not dry but not "wet" so I gave 1/2 a gallon each on transplant and then another 1/2 gallon each today to really get the coco wet.
Sept 29 - All's well, everything going better than planned at this point. I plan to let them get slightly bigger this time before doing any kind of training. the night humidity has been around 97%. I don't know if thats a bad thing but I am keeping an eye out and will just implement the ventilation system during lights off to cycle the air.
Sat Oct 5 - some vertical growth happening with the lights up higher. Found a very small area of yellow spot on one plant but it doesn't look severe and I plan to monitor it for changes. Ive gone a bit heavier with the micro and lighter with the cal mag so it could be an imbalance on the one plant.
Mon Oct 7 - AOK...minor stunting on a couple of the short ones, temps fluctuating between 86 down to 68 but nothing too crazy. gave 15 gallons across the lot yesterday to rule out any ph drift. was the first deluge since transplanting and they seem to have responded well.
Wed Oct 9 - Feed day tomorrow. All going normal. I have a couple runts underperforming so I pruned the lower nodes on the 7th and recording a favourable response so far. If I can't get the canopy even across the tent, the plan will be to split them based on canopy height and adjust the light distances accordingly.
Oct 12 -18
Oct 12, everything looks fantastic so far and it seems the short statured phenotypes have finished digging in. I can clearly see there are 2 Dif phenotypes at minimum and look forward to seeing how they compare come harvest day.
Oct 13, Well I filled my tanks to water today but the medium is still quite moist and I'm going to just hold out for another day or two. I notice a growth spurt 2-3 days after each fertigation. The coco blend I am using holds a ton of water and it makes me wonder if it maybe limiting oxygen at the roots from over saturation similar to overwatering in peat moss or soil blends.
Oct 16, Did some pruning today. I took a small amount of lower growth and started spreading the branches out a bit. The ladies are so happy, they're really starting to fill out as week 5 comes to a close. Next week I'll be adjusting the feed schedule to begin the flower transition and hopefully be in full bloom in a couple weeks. I really love my fabric pots and I believe that they are quite comfortably rooted for the long haul now and we should be seeing some explosive growth over the next week.
Oct 19-25
It is difficult to look at a picture and gauge size of a plant, to give perspective for future reference, many of the fan leaves are larger than my head. Some of them are 14"x 14" and most have 11 leaves per fan. I will do some mild defoliating over the coming weeks but plan to keep it as minimal as possible.
Oct 19, I changed the photoperiod today even though I wanted to hold out a week. All the girls are healthy and the growth has been amazing and I am confident they will continue that pattern for a few weeks. I have also raised the lights to avoid burning after spreading out all that foliage.
I loaded the coco with my transition feed and adjusted the timers as well, and will followup tomorrow by pushing the trellis down a tad more and further spreading them out to fill the space.
Oct 23, More bending and weaving through the trellis, waiting for pistils to show.
Oct 25, First sign of pistils, a few are beginning to show maturity though it requires a very close inspection. Each day I have been doing some select defoliation and cleaning up the bottoms little by little. I know that a certain degree of stress is a good thing and makes for a stronger healthier plant which is a good thing.
I have this idea that instead of stressing the plant in one major defoliating session, I can spread that stress over a week long period and ideally achieve the same desired result without the stunted growth that comes with a shock effect. I believe that bending and tucking and removing select secondary and tertiary branches over a period reduces the impact on the plants vitality whilst still causing enough stress to jumpstart the plants natural defences.
Similar to sun exposure on skin, if you expose your skin each day to a nominal amount, your body responds by increasing melanin levels and the result is tanned skin with minimal tissue damage as opposed to a single long exposure causing sunburn and tissue damage, you still get the tan either way....
Oct 26 - Nov 1
Oct 29, Fed and weaved the scrog on left side today. The stretch was getting uncontrollable and the plants pushed 12" over the past week becoming dangerously close to the light and I felt the result would be a bunch of cooked flowers by the end so I tied them down to the trellis and spread them out a bit.
Oct 30, Today I checked my scrog and found that a few rogue tips managed to evade me and the ones that I didn't tie down were easy to recognise and deal with. Now everything is tied where I want it and that earned me about 6 inches of space. I think that will do the trick and I will let them stretch upward so that the tips can fill properly along the stretch.
I doubt I will have to do much with the right side, as the branches push upward I will simply pull them outward and use the trellis to keep them separated slightly allowing better airflow and easier pruning next week. I am leaving as many fans on as possible to retain the plant's natural reserves and allow problems to be identified a little easier.
Pistils are everywhere, so I am confident we will have budlets by the end of next week , right on schedule.
Nov 2-8
Nov 2, Cooler temps this week have not slowed the growth at all. Starting to form a few budlets, and the ladies are showing off their impressive growth spurts even still. I am concerned that they will continue stretching and I may have problems with height. I will need to defoliate this week and maybe a little more training to keep them from hitting the roof lol.
Nov 3, Big defoliation today. I took everything below the trellis and removed ALL larf in the lower parts. The airflow beneath the canopy has much better movement and the plants will hopefully put those resources to the top. The canopy is still about 6-8" thick and thats just fine with me because there is very little light hitting the floor. I took a few of the big fans that I felt might be impeding development. This also improved airflow, as well as light penetration. I have noticed a positive response when I did this before so I was fairly comfortable doing it again. I was going to fertigate today but the pots felt moist and the humidity was 60% so I will let them recover from the stress and give them a nice big drink tomorrow.
Nov 4, Fed 40 liters with very little runoff, will feed again in 2 days to avoid PH Problem. (suspect early stage mag def on one, not worsening, just keeping an eye on it)
Nov 6, 40 more liters today, everything looks great, and budlets forming, the three branches I super cropped are perking back upward and should begin to heal up soon. still slowly stretching, but noticeably less having defoliated. The removal of some fan leaves slowed the stretch as intended.
Nov 9-15
Nov 9, Feed day 1.7 EC about 1 gal each. Girls are starting to form up and the trichomes are already setting on the sugars. so far so good, no real sign of nutrient problems. The stretch is real, and I am a little concerned the tops will end up closer to the lights than I want but at this point I have done all I can to pull them back. The buds look really healthy and I am beginning to detect that sweet citrus smell I loved so much during the last grow. What a beautiful and pleasant strain this is to grow.
Everything is looking great, with the removal of the FloraGro from the regimen some of the lower foliage is fading and I routinely go through and tug on lower fan leaves to aid in removal, they aren't getting much light and the humidity has been rising to the high 70% range after fertigation. I really need a dehumidifier but I am going to make what I have work for now if possible. thee buds are beginning to form nicely and we should see full colas within the next week or so. There is a couple underachievers in the room but It's too late to remove them and they should still crop out a couple ounces each anyway so they're staying for the long haul.
I took some beautiful shots with and without the purple leds on. The pink hue makes for some nice photography and the trichomes really stand out so I added them as well.
Nov 23-29,
So far so good. Everything is coming along nicely for the most part. I have basically lost one, it has 3 tops left as it failed to transition and became rather weak and stunted. This one was a difficult one from the beginning however so my expectations were low for this particular plant.
The first round of pistils has begun turning color so I know I'm getting close to the finish line, a few more weeks to go no doubt.
11/30 - 12/6 2019
Week 7
Looking beautiful this week! I did a fair bit of defoliation and I feel like that was a good call as it opened up the canopy and already I am noticing swelling and maturing beneath the tops. Soon These will fill out and increase the yield. Had to start tying up some of the colas and also tied a couple down away from the centre of the light to avoid burning. I am impressed with how big and healthy some of these plants managed to get with just a 5 week from seed veg time.
A couple of them would have outgrown the tent easily if I hadn't pulled them under the trellis early on. Glad I didn't veg longer, but if I had, and done a bit more LST, I think they would have stretched a bit less. In the future I will definitely utilise a longer veg with more intense training early on to ensure a more even canopy.
Also, removed one plant entirely (underperformance). Not sure why but it was just very leggy and overall would have produced less than an ounce of flowers.
Will upload more pics in a few days to demonstrate the effect of the 7th week defoliation.
As week 7 comes to a close, everything is putting on weight and the defoliation has played a big part in that. Much better airflow and the humidity is a bit more manageable as well. I think they can run another 2 weeks and that should fill them out nicely. For now, the plan is to begin flushing mid next week and give them a solid 10 day flush to really ripen up.
Week 8
Dec 7 - Dec 13
cruising, will begin flushing soon, waiting for them t finish ripening up a bit beforehand. few of these smell like orange creamsicles and one reminds me of mango habanero sauce made extra sweet! totally amazing terpenes.
Dec 14-20
began flushing Dec 16 with Dec 23 being the most likely harvest date.
Showing some signs of color change and the buds look and smell intense.
