Day 0: Germinated a seed in URB for 25 minutes and planted straight into soil instead of using a jiffy pellet. My last few tries with jiffy pellets caused me to go through more seeds than I wanted. Let's see what I can do with this Ripper monster!
Day 3: we have liftoff!!
Day 22: she’s really starting to take off! Almost ready to top the 5th node and I’m not even in 1gal pots yet. I will probably transplant her in the next few days and move her to the led closet.
Day 29: I have topped the 5th node and transplanted into 1gal fabric pots and moved them into my closet with two 150w LED until the tent is ready in the next week or so.
Day 36: THRIPS!!! I discovered I was infested with thrips in both tents and all of my new babes. (I suspect I brought them in with my outdoor grow) I harvested the plants and cleaned out the tents and treated the new babes with Spinosad and the thrips appear to be eradicated and the new growth is nice and healthy. Onward!
Day 57: she is really loving the 7gal pot and has responded very well to LST and I’m pulling the branches apart using plant tie downs and attaching them to paper clips at the edge of the cloth pots. This plant is a stinker!! I can’t believe how much she stinks at this size. Just messing with the leaves stinks up the whole room!
Day 64: things are looking good! Very stinky and lush green leaves. I installed the screen and will let them grow up over the next week or two before flipping them to flower. This has been a pretty quick run, so far. I’m glad I installed new charcoal filters since this one is going to be a stinker!
Day 71: she’s really starting to fill in the scrog now. Every day I tuck leaves and move things around in an effort to keep an even canopy. She’s really a pungent plant and is very very healthy! A week ago I had a broken branch at one of the 4 mains and I didn’t find it until two days later and it looked like a lost cause, it was little rally barely hanging on by a thread and the wounds looked like they were already closing in on themselves and the leaves at the top were all limped over. I applied a dab of clonex gel and used some clear packing tape and performed a delicate bandaging and somehow it worked and she’s come back. I included a photo where you can see the point of repair. She’s a very hearty plant with thick branches that do not want to bend easily. I have to be very careful with tucking.
Day 77: well I did it again. The branches are so stiff on this plant that while trying to move the branch to another square of the screen, I snapped a main nearly completely off. I tried my surgical method again, but the top didn’t make it. It looks like a sub-node made it though, so I’m going to wait a little longer before I flip to flower and let her grow a bit more. I’m a little late on the defol this run, but I did a major defol and lollipopped most branches and took off a ton of fan leaves.
Day 78: after the major defol yesterday and seeing the positive response today, I decided to let her go for another week so let a bit more veg growth before switching to flower. I could probably flip now, but since I broke a main, I’d rather have a bit more time in veg.
Day 85: Finally flipping to flower today. I fed EH transition week nutes and continuing to water 1/2 gal every two days. On non-feed days, I’m giving her 15ml URB, 5ml cal mag, 5 ml sturdy stalk and 1ml mammoth P. The tent smells great! Unfortunately, I could not save the broken top. Oh well.
Day 92: on to flower week 2! The flowering stretch is underway and there has been a lot of growth. The tent is really pungent when first opened. Whew! Feeding early flower nutes this week.
Day 99: just finished week two of flower. I did some defol and heavy tucking and moving around to spread out the canopy. This plant had a huge growth spurt. Some of the dinky branches from down below are 7-8” above the screen now. I can’t do much more with it at this point. So far, she’s very healthy and getting pretty stinky! I’ll defol a bit more by the end of this week. I’ll move to early flower week 2 nutes this week.
Day 106: beginning the 4th week of flower. I did some major defoliation over the course of a couple of days last week and really opened up the canopy to more light. There are some serious shooters on this plant and they are towering above the screen. I cleaned up under the canopy pretty good as well to let energy focus on the buds and not the under fluff.
Day 113: She's really coming along now and is starting to get nice and frosty! She is beginning to stink big time! I'm feeding week 5 Mid Flower nutes this week. The buds are starting to pack on some weight now!
Day 121: Beginning week 6 of flower. It will be a good 3 weeks before harvest, from what I can tell. The buds are really fattening up now and the smell is outrageous! I haven't needed to use any supports, but they may change in the coming weeks. Feeding week 5 mid-flower nutes this week and may throw in some Rock Resinator through the finish. I've been doing some selective defoliating where the buds are congested and blocked by fan leaves. I can't believe how sticky they are already. My fingers were pretty much stuck together after trimming a few leaves!
Day 128: Starting the 6th week of flower. She is ripening nicely, but still a while to go. I'll probably bump things up to late flower nutes. Still watering 3/4 gal every 48 hours. I'm also defoliating here and there where there are lower clusters of buds that I just can't separate and trying to do the best I can with those. I know they won't be ripe underneath where it's so dense, but at least the tops will be nice. There are some large colas on this beauty! The tent is stating to smell like tropical fruit, it's delicious!
Day 135: The buds are really fattening up now. They have a ways to go yet before completion, but the tent smells like sublime tropical fruit. It used to stink like rotting flesh (zombie kush?), but has transformed into an absolutely remarkable pungent smell. My 190cfm fans aren't working very well to keep the odor down. I may have to invest in a 440cfm 6" exhaust system. Feeding late veg nutes this week.
Day 142: Holy moly has this beauty exploded! Colors are changing quickly now and it won't be long before harvest. Probably another week, maybe 2 at the most. I can't get over the size of these colas and the SMELL....absolutely intoxicating!! The tent is a tropical paradise with coconuts and pineapple and beautiful women! I am hoping for a huge yield. It was so hard to choose the best angle for photos this week. Every bud just looks spectacular and is glistening with trichomes. I don't want this one to come to an end! Ok, yes I do haha!
Day 149: 'twas the day before harvest and all through the house, was a great smelling plant ready to be chopped! Tomorrow is the big day, so I took some pre-harvest pics to capture the best of the best from this run. I would have liked to have flushed a bit longer, but the amber is setting in and I don't want too much couch lock. The colas on this plant are absolutely huge! I have never seen buds this big in my two years of indoor growing. I hope she smokes as good as she looks!
Day 162: Harvest finally arrived and after drying for almost 6 full days, I put her in jars. A few buds were still a bit damp, but I aired out the jars for a couple of days before weighing everything up. Aside from breaking a large main top in late veg, she rebounded with huge returns. Coming in at 5.3oz of some of the most colorful, sticky and delicious buds I've grown yet! Incredible plant and I will most certainly grow again in the future!
