madyru This is my third indoor cycle. Now I'm more interested in the process of growing itself, rather than just the desire to get buds at harvest. So I'm studying the theory and experiences of other growers, trying to apply it in practice and improve the process. madyru AK is a bit behind in growth compared to the psycho-delic, plus it has a reddish stem. no idea. I was browsing eBay yesterday. Picked up a bunch of cool stuff for our project Thermohygrometer, 0.01g scales, x60 microscope, pH, TDS meter. I'll check their usefulness in a month.

madyru I water about every other day, roughly when the soil dries out. About 0.5-0.7 liters per bush. The psychedelic one also has some kind of purple-red stem now. I think my plants are slowing down in growth. I blame it on bad soil...

madyru I watered today according to the watering scheme (you should water in a ring around the plant, not just directly under the stem), adding some rooting hormone. Let's see if the growth picks up... I looked at the photos from my previous cycle - by the ninth day, the plants were already growing up and out. Here, they haven't changed much at all; I don't even see the point in taking pictures.

madyru On the 7th day, I watered with root stimulant about 250-300g per bush. And on the 9th, I gave some amber acid on the leaves. It seems like the plants are gradually coming to life and starting to grow. I probably overwatered them at the beginning, which is why they stalled in growth. Even after three days, the soil is still wet and the pots are heavy after watering. So for now, I'm not watering, let the roots drink what's already in the soil. And I still have some distrust towards the soil.

madyru I accidentally overwatered my plants and have already realized my mistakes, so I'm on the path to fixing it. I've been holding off on watering for 5 days now, only sprayed the leaves twice with a spray bottle. I'm planning to water tomorrow. And the plants definitely appreciated it, it's definitely psychedelic.

madyru Basically, both plants showed the 3rd pair (with AK, of course, it's a bit of a stretch), so I consider this the end of pre-veg and the beginning of veg. I watered this morning with some root stimulant and lightly covered them with soil. The psychedelic one is clearly doing well. I hope AK catches up with her over time.

madyru yeah, totally unhealthy topic. for example, here's a bush that's 14 days from sprout, grown under the same light, in the same pot, and probably with the same crooked hands. in some no-name cheap soil, I forgot the name unfortunately 😅 (against it, my 16-day plants look like they're only 5 days old). I have no idea how to transplant from a 14L pot. I feel like I’d either kill them or stress them out even more if I start digging around in there. so I’ll just pump them with nutrients, increasing the dose and watching how the plants react to it. and if it all goes really badly, I’ll have to start the cycle over again in new soil. I’m never buying this crappy stuff again.

madyru I decided to give them a few more days, watering them with nutrients. The problem, as I understand it, is probably the lack of substances in the soil. If they don't perk up, I'll transplant them. I still wanted to order GHE Flora after a while. As for Agrikola, it's the only thing I know of that's available in our city. I used it on flowers twice, both times it was fine.

madyru I transplanted, decided not to wait and transplanted today into different soil (People's Soil). If everything went well, I hope they'll come to life in a couple of days. But if karma is bad, I’ll have to start the report over. The psychedelic strain kind of drooped its head after the transplant, but I think it’s nothing serious. Also noticed a couple of spots on one leaf today.

madyru Good news, AK after transplanting - it sulked for a couple of days, but then started to grow and green up abundantly. Bad news - the psychedelic died, necrotic spots appeared on the leaf even before transplanting. After the transplant, it stopped growing and quickly turned yellow and got covered in necrosis. I decided it would be better to plant a new one.. of course, there will be a difference with AK, but considering it has only been growing for 3 days, and the new psycho will immediately start growing normally in decent soil, I think the difference won't be too big. I want to grow exactly 2 different strains. The only thing that's unclear with AK is the 3rd and 4th pairs of leaves with 3 fingers.

madyru To fight off the pests, I bought Fitoverm and today I generously sprayed the leaves from above and below, as well as the box and pot - 2ml per liter plus a bit of dish soap (I read somewhere in my search that soap or dishwashing liquid increases effectiveness, leaving a film on the leaf surface after drying, which is deadly for pests). By the way, the plant is drinking water like crazy now) 1.1-1.3L a day. After the bush gets pretty big, I water it every day. If I water every other day, the plant droops its leaves)) Anyway, as soon as I solve the spider mite issue, I’ll set up the SCROG because it’s about time.

madyru I set up the net 4 days ago. Now the plants are actively growing into it. I'm bending the shoots. They have enough light for now, but when the net is fully covered, there will be a dead zone below. I’m keeping the water pH at 6.5, alternating nutrients with water. I plan to switch to flowering when about 70% of the squares are filled. I think it won't be sooner than in about 7 days.

madyru The little plant has flowered 😄 I'm even a bit surprised that it flowered in just a week) My previous two cycles took about two weeks to flower. Yesterday, I discovered a problem. The main branch broke under the pressure of the net. I really didn't want to lose the main cola. So, with some shamanic drumming, tape, a rubber band, and a few plastic ties, I managed to securely fix the broken part to the stem. Judging by the fact that the tip hasn't wilted, the operation was successful) But now it's taller than the other colas, bending it is no longer an option..

madyru Everything is going well. I did defoliation on the plant, removing some of the leaves blocking the light. I'm trying to tuck the big leaves under the net. The branches that clearly won't reach the net are being removed as well. I'm watering with a mix at pH 6.8-7 and ppm 700. I measured the drainage - pH 6.5, 350 ppm. SCROG definitely rules! I'm really glad I tried this method. It's not hard to do and is even somewhat exciting. I'll definitely use the net again in the next cycles. Everything is fine with the branch now. Indeed, the resilience is impressive. Plastic ties (not sure what they're called, usually used for headphone wires and such) and rubber bands are very useful in our work)) For now, I've tied the stem to the net, and after a while, I'll continue bending or tying it to the net.

madyru The plant is actively forming buds. The SCROG shape has already been formed. It turned out slightly holey at the front and dense at the back. But for one bush, I think it's fine, especially considering this is my first SCROG and my understanding of it was purely theoretical, based on neighboring reports. I give 1.5 liters of water a day in the fertilize-fertilize-water mode. I tried watering every other day but the plant didn't like it. The pH of the water is 7.0, ppm 700. In the drainage, I get pH 6.5 - 6.8, ppm 500. The temperature in the box is 27-28C, which is pretty good. A few days ago, I had to turn off the ventilation because there was a small incident—the power strip burned out. I connected it securely, according to Feng Shui. So, advice: don't use those crappy Chinese-Turkish power strips. I just installed a good new Euro plug for the light.

madyru The little trees are growing, and we're gradually getting closer to the harvest! There haven't been any major issues during the flowering stage. I once slightly over-fertilized them, giving them 1000ppm. The buds aren't super big, but they're really dense. Some small leaves on the buds have taken on a burgundy-purple hue, looks cool. Just like Purple Haze)) I'm planning the harvest for next week, depending on the situation.

madyru Here comes the harvest!! I cut part of the yield on day 121 after a week of drying (during that time, I probably smoked half of it, shared with friends). The rest I kept for another week + a day in the dark. The first buds were jarred and, for the experiment, put into syringes and sent for treatment. The second ones were manicured and sent back to dry in the box. I decided to check the roots and was surprised to see so many at the bottom, under the drainage. The beginning of the cycle had constant problems, but the color turned out just amazing - no mold, no bugs, no diseases, no hermies. For myself, I made the following conclusions - SCROG definitely rules, I will definitely use it in the future. The quality of the soil is very important - it was very unfortunate with the psychedelic strain... (and it delayed the cycle by 2-3 weeks. Based on the report of the respected d9, I realized that in DR60, I need to grow 4 plants at once, each of a different strain. They will fit wonderfully there. I also need to buy good fertilizers (probably Flora). Otherwise, it’s like pouring 76 gasoline into a Mercedes. Now about the AK - VERY stinky. Even with a filter. The smell is some kind of acidic. Not the strongest strain I've tried. I liked WW and Power Plant more. As for the taste - buds are just buds, idk) it scratches the throat moderately. It's hard for me to assess the strength right now, as I've already smoked quite a bit. That's why I came up with the idea - to order a new bong for myself, and while it's being delivered, to take it easy. They will cure during these one and a half - two weeks. Then I can do a smoke report) Thanks to everyone who visited my thread. I wish you a good harvest!
