Growing in Aurora Soul Soilless (70/30 Coco/Perlite). It was certainly a struggle to get my humidity correct, still working on it. Temp and everything is okay, slightly stunted b/c it's seed got stuck on it's head for some time before i learned i head to get it off. lol. But seems okay for now. I'm using a 40W draw grow light on it right now, will be putting the 240W QB up tonight.
First time grower, that's for sure. Very interesting experience. : )
Rough week. Had trouble regulating temperature and humidity, might have it worked out now. Then part of my stalk kinda turned white, fearful it might be PWM i gave it a 3-4 minute h202 bath (1.5 oz/1 gallon). Her roots popped through her nursery bag so i placed her in her final home, a 3 gallon fabric pot. She almost looks like she might have a Mg deficiency so I'm going to increase the Mg next fertigation.
Something is up with Penelope. It looks like a Mag deficiency perhaps so I bumped up my cal mg to the higher in the range on the schedule. Here’s hoping that does it. Dimmed the light and raised it, it started to burn the plant wherever the water hit and new growth seems blanched.
Week went well. It’s got little issues here and there (a little over fertigation, salt buildup but seems okay now. Phew! I topped her at the maybe 5th node? Hopefully that went okay. I have yet to start lst, have to buy some ties first.
Topped her at the 5th node I think last week, she’s just recovering now. Tied her down in 3 places and I think it all ended up okay. I keep getting what I think are little bleach marks, not sure from what but I’ve inspected the plant with a loupe all over so I know there’s no bugs. She’s doing okay I think.
I’m waiting now to flip, should be any day now. I was going to flip her around 10” but she’s not growing taller, only bushier, so assuming it’s genetic since I’m doing everything else correctly. I’ll flip her next week. Can’t wait.
Her second week in flower and she’s doing great. Waiting for the stretch, she’s so short and bushy! Lol. She’s a fantastic plant and brings me joy for sure.
Weird that she didn’t really stretch. She’s still 9”. But I won’t fret. She’s got her scrog set up, I upped the light and brought it a little closer, not sure that was a good idea but it’s done now. Really excited for the next 6 weeks.
I have no idea what is wrong with her. She’s still 10”. There was no stretch at all and she’s tiny. I did everything right. Down to taking her leaf temperature so that she would be in the right VOD range. She’s been super healthy. Leaves always perfect, temp/humidity always in range, ppm in and ph perfect, light is. 125w qb with Cree red diodes. Coco and perlite medium. And yet she’s tiny and barely growing at all. I’ll be lucky if I get 1/4 oz off this plant. I’m so sad, I put so much work into doing everything right and this is what happened. :(
She grew what I thought were male parts so I cut off a branch that I thought had them. Lol. No idea if it was or not. I hope she’s okay. She never quite took off like I thought she would and even after her week of pk 13/14 I’m not sure what she’s going to deliver. Well, she’s got 3 more weeks to go so we’ll know soon enough.
