3 full weeks into flower, defoliated and fed them first batch of bloom food. I might of been a bit late applying bloom as they developed buds fairly fast and am just noticing a bit of yellowing on newer leaves at the bud sites.
The smell is really starting to kick in and can smell hints of it even with the carbon filter.
This is under a COB/blurple hybrid LED light that claims 2000w, actual draw is 405w but would probably compare more to a 600w HID which is exactly what I was looking for with the space I have (3x3)
The smell is coming on real fast, pungent and kushy. They have recovered well from the heavy defoliating performed last week. Just fed them 10 liters of my bloom food mixture (following DNFs schedule) feel like I could add a cal mag to the mixture as well but don't have any yet. Next feed I'm just going to clear them to prevent any build ups as the run off can start to get spicy on the TDS meter. Will continue with the bloom feed mix after.
You can see a lot of purple developing which I find very appealing, I think it is a trait from the bubblegum. I have grown bubblegum outdoors in the past and was extremely impressed with the smell and blueish hues it produced, am really looking forward to seeing how it turns out with the og Kush genetics blended in.
I found a seed!!!! Pretty upset about that as I haven't seen any indications of hermaphrodites yet, so not sure who the culprit is. Am optimistic that it's only a minor infestation. Applied my first application of DNF cal mend (cal mag) in response to seeing indications of the deficiency. They are emitting am extremely strong pungent Kush odor, no notice of the bubblegum trait in the smell yet, kind of expecting it will come out when it gets busted up.
No more seeds on either of my Bubba's (2 on the left) , the cookies kush seems to be the most effected (front right) and the love potion (back right) has been growing like a weed taking over. It's been a struggle keeping it from getting too close to the light which is causing light burn. The cal mend seems to have stopped the progression of that deficiency. It looks like the Bubba's may be finished bulking up and just focusing on trichome production, they are completely covered. Touching them makes my fingers immediately sticky and a pungent Kush smell.
Finishing up week 7 of flowering, the smell keeps getting stronger. Whenever I touch anything on the plant, there's an instant glossy sticky smear on my finger which strongly smells of pungent kush. I didn't bother adding any pH down with this feed as I don't feel lower pH is helping the calcium issues. This is going to be the last feed, next watering I will be starting to flush.
I've given them their first clear a couple days ago. I haven't been letting enough run off come out due to them being not very accessible stuck in netting and yoyos, which I discovered measuring the run off and seeing readings as high as 3600ppm, I ran a good amount through and bright it down to 560ppm. I also let it get a bit hot for a couple days, so between those events, you can see I stressed them a bit, but almost finished anyways at least.
I couldn't resist and snipped off a small piece from the Bubba and Love Potion. The Bubba has a very strong indication of the Bubblegum strain I remember enjoying very much along with a very pungent Kush smell, you don't even need to give it a squeeze to have it flood your nose with its aromas. The effect is definitely relaxed on first impressions. Am looking forward to seeing how this is when it's properly finished and cured!
The finished product has far exceeded my initial expectations. This diary, which has been focused on the Bubba Kush, is coming to an end. I couldn't have put this diary together without my amazing girlfriend and her photography skills.
What an awesome experience this has been and am really looking forward to my next batch and continue to learn and improve my methods.
Everything has been cut down and trimmed, hung in 60% RH for 9 days, in a box for a day after that and has been in jars for 4 days at approx 65% humidity. The total 287g is of the whole tent, 120g came from the 2 Bubba Kush so approx 60g per plant. 75g from Cookies Kush and 92g from Love Potion which was a bully, taking over the area!.
The Bubba is my favorite out of the 3 with an overwhelming pungent odor of sweet kush. You can really notice the Bubblegum sweetness accompanied with an extremely pungent Kush aroma. The smoke replicates the aromas along with a pleasant earthy taste.
It's very relaxing creating positive vibes and leaning more towards night time use as it is extremely potent and you don't feel like going anywhere after having any.
Overall I'm very happy with the favour and effects of this strain
This was a very pleasant strain to grow!. It kept short, bushy and controllable. It would of yielded more if it wasn't taken over by the sativa dominant love potion, which I'm fine with because I enjoy the variety. I also made a couple newbie mistakes which effected yield and I'm hoping to avoid them next round.
It was exactly what I was looking for flavour wise, which I'm very happy about, and they were completely loaded in trichomes and the smell is amazing. The flavour in my vape is exactly how they smell accompanied with earthy taste and a potentcy shutter. This will definitely keep me satisfied until next variety is ready.
