Planted seeds directly in the growing medium and all 4 popped within 4-6 days. Timers are dialed in. Growing in an insulated garage in a cool climate. Have a space heater running outside the tent when the lights are off and seem to have temperatures stable between 20-24c. This is my first time growing anything from seed so thanks to Fastbuds for making it easy.

The first three seeds that popped are growing strong. Started on general hydroponics organic line this week, following schedule on the box. Fourth seed popped 72 hrs later and seems a bit slower. Mostly just using a spray bottle on that one.

Plants seem to be growing well. The last one that popped, Lil Tardy, is well behind in terms of size. Probably just a runt but I'll let it run its course. Once Lil Plant grows its next node I'm going to experiment by topping it, leaving the others as controls. It seems to be the healthiest plant so I'm hoping it can handle the stress. The next week i plan to start low stress training on all but the runt. I'm using full nutrients now and the plants appear to be responding well. Watering. 25 gallon every 3 days or so.

Both of the plants i topped have responded very well. Thinking about some light defoliation of the lower plant for the bushier ones? I've been watering with a shower type watering can. Some pics may show water on the foliage. Going to take that top off to try and avoid this in future. Since the plants are responding well I pumped up the grow nutrients from 10ml/g to 15ml last night. Hopefully that won't prove a mistake. Thanks again for any feedback! Noticed a little yellowing in tips of some new growth so I probably pushed the grow nutrients a little too high, but I've moved on to bloom nutrients so hopefully no long term harm.

Well things had clearly been going too easy. One of my plants, DaBaby, is showing some damage on a couple of buds from what i suspect to be light burn. I moved the lights up a few inches and things seem to have settled. The two topped plants are growing strong still. Hoping the buds fatten up soon. Lil Tardy is still trucking along but is flowering much slower than the other ladies. Anyone with insight either into Lil Tardy or the damage to DaBaby please chime in for a newbie.

Upper growth leaves and buds on one plant are burnt. I attributed this to light damage and raised them up a few inches. If anyone has any alternative thoughts or suggestions about how to minimize existing damage that would be great. Other bud sites look fine.

Hi! This could be nutrient burn. If you have recently changed to flower nutrients this could be the plant still trying to adjust. If raising the lights didnt help try lowering the dose of the nutrients a bit until the problem goes away. i Hope this helps. Nice set up by the way.

This week has been a struggle. Tried doing a couple of straight waters for the plants that were struggling last week. Think I've figured out my problem but time will tell. I've been using general organics nutrients mostly according to the feed schedule on the box. But I've been adjusting ph up to 6, and even did one feed at 6.5. I did a slurry from my soil and ph is over 7. On review, looks like general organics recommends no ph adjustment. I've also been told calmag in the GO box is possibly a bit light so maybe a magnesium deficiency? I'm going to feed from here out with no ph adjustment and bump up the calmag dosage. Might add in a touch of grow nutrient too. Wish me luck.

Struggling with 2 plants this close to the finish line is frustrating but I think I've learned a couple of things in the process. Hopefully the yield won't suffer too much.

DaBaby has really come around since I flushed her. Looking pretty healthy now. Lil Plant also looks better since being flushed and some of the foliage is actually regaining its colour. I think still a ways to go before harvest so the buds can fatten up. Gemini shows a little stress from the flush i think but otherwise is healthy. Lil Tardy still trucking. Didn't flush her but did give one water with ph adjusted water with cal mag. I think the health issues with the plants were a combination of nutrient burn and lockout. I have a tds meter and more accurate ph meter now and the run off was high in both from the flush. I think this will really help going forward. I've also ordered some ph and moisture meters for each pot in time for my next grow too.

Growing these girl scout cookies was a fun first attempt. They gave me enough trouble to learn a few things but also gave me a decent yield at 5oz. With some tweaking i hope to squeeze 8oz out of my next grow. Thanks to everyone who offered support and advice along the way.

Just did my first grow with ProMix HP too! Be prepared to feed a lot just make sure you dial in your nutes so you don't overfeed during individual feedings, a lot different than soil 🙌 Best of luck!

O YEAH PH 6.0 is at the LOW END for soil....6.0 is perfect for coco though
Wilson_McNugget
Wilson_McNuggetcommented5 years ago
@Newbnugz76, ok thats two things there one yeah peat???? I dont know….coco ready to use is pretty cheap....but yeah always adjust Ph unless it is already very close to where you want it.... I dont know that company....but A SIMPLE THREE PART doesnt get you to far....money is always an issue with people usually...but you need a digi Ph tester..cheap ones fine calibrate IN DYSTILLED WATER ONLY....and YOU CANT ADJUST UP AND DOWN AFTER MIXING CHEMCIALS....only one way or the other...or you can cause a lock up of the nutrients..... I started with GHE and some Advanced..Advanced Nutrients I like......but these Cyco Nutrients using THE ENTIRE PHARMACUTIICAL QUALITY BALLANCED line up is a big difference...… and if you are using a DROPPER PH TEST KIT....total garbage....no way to tell between one or the other.....6.5 soil 6.0 coco peat and 5.5 hydro....not exact but normal starting points..... A GOOD FLUSH ALWAYS HELPS.....raise it up in the tub or basement floor....pour a gallon of Ph water possibly using a CLEANSING PRODUCT....wait five minutes and flush again....The peat should still dry out pretty fast... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH NUTRIENTS....lucas formula is for outdoor gorilla growing in soil only....a once every now and hen hike and dump some nutrients....

@@@Wilson_McNugget, im actually growing in HP Promix which is peat based. I'd like to try coco soon i hear good things! My nutes are General Organics. I think I've been messing up by adjusting the ph when the box calls for no adjustment. I'm hoping the plants are just having a hard time uptaking the nutrients and that when i feed with no ph adjustment they will improve. Thanks for your comment!

are you using any nutrients????? or amendments????? in your soil????? to much nitrogen....unless you have a HID it wasn't light burn probably......unless your LED puts off a lot of heat radiation on the plants.....RED LIGHT will have more heat radiation from infrared light which is what makes THE SUN FEEL WARM ON OUR SKIN.....that can burn a little..... you should try COCO sure you have to use HYDRO CHEMICALS....but you can dump a couple gallons on a coco pot and it drys out in three days....ALLOWING FOR REAL MID GROW FLUSHING......soil doesnt grain or dry out fast enough.... im on my third grow....one finished diary....one 5-6 weeks from harvest...and one a week old.... CYCO's rep was in town and hooked me up with their full nutrient line up, since I was already using CYCO COCO....i'll tell you what....IF YOU CAN MEASURE WITH A SYRINGE THE CORRECT AMMOUNT OF NUTRIENTS.....you can grow killer weed and KNOW YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A DEFICIENTCY....deficient... super easy......much better then my first grow I only finish with CYCO nutrients.... now I have two GSC Fast Bud plants that are hitting my LED lights.....they are not burnt at all.....MY SHORT GSC had some weird TO COLA BUD LEAVES WITH SOMETHING ON THEM....looked like BLISTERING....there was a REALLY HEAVE RED LIGHT POINTING ON HER DIRECTLY...….I trimmed the damage SINCE IF THE BUD GROWS OVER THE IT WILL TASTE LIKE POOP its doing fine I took out the heavy red light.....my others are more even RED BLUE COMBO ..not so much Infrared....which is needed to get SOME WEED TO GET ALL COLORFUL..... looking good....MAYBE A LITTLE OVER WATERED.....if you added anything with nitrogen you might have used to much???? if you want to PERFECT CYCO nutrient amounts WEEK BY WEEK im putting together the full 12 week cycle.....you need to change nutrients two times....once at flower....then for the last four weeks of flower you have to swap a few things in and put again..... BUT RESULTS ARE WORTH IT.....all nutrients are expensive....just CYCO actually gives you everything you thought you were paying for...... I THINK COCO IS MUCH BETTER THEN SOIL.....in my honest opinion....I like flooding my plants every 2-3 days with 2-3 liters of water.....with COCO my two biggest GSC's are drinking and drying out in 24-36 hours drinking 3 liters each time......THEU EAT MORE IN COCO THEN SOIL..... its super easy if you can use a 10ml syringe and BLUNT TIP NEEDLE correctly.....O'YEAH you should also use REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER.....I dont trust any tap water unless its be lab tested
the end.
