This week went pretty well! I'm starting with Ironhead's updated method for coco found on grasscity. I believe I may be running into phosphorus issues because there is some slight darkening on a few of my leaves, but I think this may be due to underwatering as I left over the weekend and came home to some very dry coco. The guides I have read said the older leaves may not recover but new ones shouldn't show signs of discoloration so I'm waiting for the new ones to grow a little more. The one plant you see with a veggie tie on it was also drooped over on it's side but has now seemed to gain it's strength back. I tried posting close ups of the problem leaves, they also have some denting/twisting which is another reason I believe it was underwatered. Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated though, I am somewhat familiar with plants in general but this is my first ever cannabis grow so I've got a lot to learn. Setup for those curious and other new growers: TENT: 4x4 Vivosun tent - Seems comparable to all other tents at this price point, it took like 15 minutes to build and I've noticed no light leak at all, though I've heard pinholes usually form with time so I'll update my journal if I notice any LIGHT: Timber Grow Lights Redwood VS - These are really sturdy, I was actually able to hold it on one end and there's absolutely 0 flex in the frame and it includes a dimmer so I'm adjusting to 300W during veg up to the full 640W for flower. All of the light information regarding PPFD is also available on their site, I'm not very familiar with this info so I won't speak on it. FAN: AC Infinity T6 - This fan is amazing so far and runs very quiet, but it creates negative pressure at the lowest setting so I would recommend the T4 model for 4x4 if I were to rebuy fans for the sake of saving money CARBON FILTER: Phresh Intake Filter 6 in x 8 in 270 CFM - I see a lot of people buy really large filters, but I read improperly matching the filter can reduce the life length of the carbon inside, if you visit Phresh's website they have a calculator to show you the appropriate size filter. I ended up getting a smaller and cheaper filter after checking that so I recommend looking that up for new growers Misc: I bought two wire shelves from Home Depot and cut some weather treated 2x6 wood to raise it off the floor. This has made watering to drain a breeze since I can reach underneath and pull all of my drip trays out. I bought a Buckethead vacuum but find it more tedious than just pulling them out and dumping them. I also have fans coming, I bought 6x USB powered 6" fans and a USB hub to plug them into in order to conserve outlets in my power strip in case I ever need to add anything else. After receiving those I will work on cable management and hopefully get it all nice and pretty. Cheers!

I believe I have a phosphorus deficiency from lack of watering/early pH issues. I also have curly/dented leaves that can be seen in the close ups. Does this seem like a phosphorus deficiency or what else may it be?

Hello shreddedminiyeets, Your girl is looking good, not bad at all. I would recommend you do change some things to make sure you get no problems later on. First of all, try to aim your ph more to 5.9 or 6 and not above 6. You want the nitrogen to be pulled by your plant. Also the humidity is very low if its 40%, try to mist or spray your girls daily to maintain a humidity of 65%. My last recommendation is to raise your light, because i think the spacing between the nodes is very small and its getting to much light. I think with these small adjustments they will look better overtime. Hope this was an helpfull answer. Keep on growing my friend. Peace 👍🏾

This week was full of improvements. I raised my lights, lowered my pH, and raised my humidity 10%. I'm still unsure if I intend to add a humidifier to the room until I get my other tents setup. For reference I'm growing in a room of about 12x16 and I currently have three 4x4 tents built with one running, with the other two being setup today to start their grows which I feel like will raise my room's humidity more. I caught a very early calcium deficiency and raised my CalMag levels, the leaves perked back up and and have been looking beautiful since. I also began adding root excellurator which I noticed a nice growth spurt with upon starting. I have a couple light spots on my leaves that I believe are from spilling light on them during watering. The only question I have for you guys is is this a good height? I was expecting them to grow taller than they have, I intended to LST but they don't really seem uneven enough in height.

A week of potential problems :( I tried lollipopping and defoliating as well as some low stress training this week. It seemed to go well, but now I'm not sure if I have bugs or other issues. All issues are pictured above. Added photosynthesis plus twice per week at 7.5mL/gal, everything else is the same except I raised light intensity today. I am unsure if it's bugs because the only damage is the four spots pictured, and the discoloration is on the one leaf and no others/other plants. I'm really confused and not sure what to do, I have neem oil but I don't want to spray if not needed. And I also have hydrogen peroxide to aid in case the discoloration is caused by root rot. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as always, thank you!

I'm at the point where things are going well but I'm not sure what to do. Do i scrog or let them grow naturally for my first grow? I also have some seedlings that just popped up for another grow will be posting pics soon

I setup a SCROG net a few days ago, I think I may have been late to getting it setup but things still seem to be better than they previously were, I can see a lot more bud sites from a bird's eye view than I could previously so I imagine that means more lights is hitting them which is good. I defoliated when I setup the SCROG since that moved around the leaves and a lot of things were covered, but I don't intend to touch the plant anymore until harvest. I have no idea how long to expect to wait for this seed to harvest but I'm really excited for the end result. For the nutrients I dropped Roots Excelurator for Floralicious and added Cannazym, FloraNectar, and Liquid KoolBloom as well. I'm only doing the Photosynthesis Plus 2x per week and I'm never feeding with plain water. I had a higher runoff PPM so I adjusted all of the levels listed down by about 10% to try and hone things in. Any tips would be great! This is my first grow so I haven't had any experience doing SCROG, would I normally start it earlier? Thanks for reading

This week has been fine! At the moment I've just been watering regularly and slightly adjusting nutrient levels still. I think that 20% less than what I have listed for everything except CalMag works best. The only troublesome/weird thing I've run into is my one plant is seeming to mature much more quickly. It has already developed a decent amount of trichomes, though the buds seem pretty small. The other ones haven't really gotten buds yet and are still growing the pistils out (correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the white hairs right?) At this point I'm wondering how to know when to start flushing since they are at different points I am guessing the one plant will be flushed soon As always tips are appreciated, thanks for any help.

This week has been rough for the plants, but great for me! While I was busy spending time with family and friends and training for a new job, my plants got severely dried out. To top this off I got home at 3am on the night I finally fed them and I forgot to pH the water, so they continued declining in health. I have since seen improvements in their health and see new green areas popping up on the leaves, but I was worried about potentially losing the back left plant. My ideal feeding schedule is currently about 5 quarts of water twice per day (2 hours before/after lights off/on) at 80% nutrient strength from what's listed (except CalMag, Drip Clean, Cannazym), prior to the plants drying out and me not checking pH this was doing really well and I think for this feeding routine 80% is about the max this strain would like. I also had to chop down the top right plant as it reached harvest time, I neglected to take pictures because of the busy week but I will update with pictures when it's dry. The yield on that plant is incredibly small, while I expected that I'm not sure why the plant matured so much quicker than the others.

I think this strain grows very well and would be truly amazing if I adjusted a bunch of different things, but that's what the first time is for! I've got my temperatures down now and I'm able to lower my lights more and I have a better feeding schedule and nutrient lineup in my opinion, check out my other grow diary to see how that's going! I am about to start some Fastberry seeds from Fastbuds as well and I'm excited to see how that goes after seeing the quality of these Gorilla Glue plants despite the issues during growing. Total weight from the 3 final plants is 220 grams of bud + lord knows how much trim and larf. The 1 plant that matured early gave me only 40g but it was strong and looked/tasted similar. Overall I'd recommend this strain and intend to try it again from FastBuds to see how I can improve it because even with my mistakes it's good.
