My last diary was a bust and the attempt before that didn't even make the it to the diary, What a ROUGH start!
So here we are folks, day 1 and her name is Dixie. She has a sister named Doodle, but she is apparently a late bloomer.
Dixie and Doodle are Greybeard Seeds Auto Northern Light that I received as a freebie with a previous order. These
may be rebranded, I have no idea, I attempted to search for NL on their website and could not find anything.
It was really east to germinate this time around thanks to some support and help from a special discord group and a big shoutout
to @Droidx-rage for giving me a step by step on his germination methods.
So 48 hours in distilled water, not covered, not heated just ambient room temps... was around 69-71 in my room.
Once the seed cracked and I could see the taproot, I placed her into the Rapid Rooter in a plastic greenhouse and onto a
seedmat. The humidity in the greenhouse stayed around 90+ RH and the temps were 82-87f, After another 48 hours, Dixie sprouted
and I put her into the 3.9 gallon pot with Fox Farms soil amended with perlite. These pots are AutoPots with the AirDomes installed, however,
They advise not turning either of them on until she gets proper roots, which is hear is around 2 weeks. I plan on letting her get used to the lighting
while her sister Doodle tries to catch up. Once I get them acclimated to light I will be increasing is slowly...
So all this brings us here, DAY ONE FOLKS.... DAY ONE.
Thank you to anyone who followed my last diary and followed over to this one, I hope to see some growth this time.
Stay tuned!
oh... p.s. I'll be running some Time Lapse's just for fun so we can hopefully experience the whole ride together in a short clip!
11-20 - Dixie needed a little help sliding her protective shell from her new growth. I’ve made sure the soil was wet and have been continuing to use a humidity dome to keep the RH up. Since Dixie’s sister Doodle hasn’t made any progression I’ve contacted her cousin, Jackie and she’s going to come lend a hand. Jackie is Jack 47 XL from Sweet Seeds. I’ll be making another diary for Jackie is Doodle doesn’t make it.
11-22 - We’ve got lift off for Dixie anyways. Doodle is probably going to get culled tonight, she hasn’t made any progression so it’s time to let her go.
11-24 - Dixie is doing well, no issues and as you can see in the most recent photo she is starting to develop her second set of true leaves. Doodle was a no go, RIP. However, I've got a her cousin in the rapid rooter this morning so I'll be starting another Journal for Jackie.
Today is the 7th day, so we are starting Week 2!
She’s starting to get her second set of true leaves and is loving her some light. She’s leaning over to the right a bit, I asked around and people think that it may be root growth. Another week and I’ll turn on the auto pot!
Got a humidifier in the tent now and we are doing some test runs to see how it goes.
Stay tuned!
11-27 Day 9 I believe... if I am wrong please comment below. She’s forming her second set of true leaves and it ALMOST time to automate this grow with my AutoPots and AirDomes.
11-29 Day 11 I think.... Woohoo she’s loving life. I’ve turned on the AutoPots and will start MegaCrop this week. Next week AirDomes will be turned on.
Day 15 - She’s getting smelly! She been on MegaCrop for a couple days, AutoPots are on and AirDomes are on as well. She’s in auto mode for the most part.
Had some temp issues and had to rework my filter and duct work.
She’s growing at an alarming rate and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
Day 16 added a few more pics
Day 21 / Dec. 8 - Added pictures, first time here so I’m trying some things. This plant is super bushy, so about 2 days ago I did some LST to expose another bud site as well as cut the two old 3 finger leaves from the bottom, they were dying out so I just removed them.
Today I did some light leaf tucking and tied her down in another direction to expose a 3rd bud sight. Hopefully she’ll start growing taller because she is very short.
Dec. 10 - I recounted from previous journal dates and this is day 22.
Super sorry the journal dates and logs are mixed up on week two and weeks three... as a good friend of mine says “If that’s the worse thing I do today, I think I’ll be alright”.
So, I didn’t do much besides check functionality and some minor leaf tucking.
Day 37 she’s in flower!
Keeping up with 5mg per gallon of water, it’s tap water from my well. I’ve stopped pH’ing the water as well I am just going with it.
I’ve since bought a kill A watt to measure the watts, I’m running 160w and plan on hitting 180 after a small recovery from the last defol... no need to give too many new things at once.
I’d say she’ll flower for 30-45 days as this seems like a longer auto flower.
