**I want to preface this update by saying that my watering and feedings have never been extremely regimented; I only feed and water my plants in response to how I see them behave. As much as I would like the add what I use to supplement my grow and amend my soil there really isn't an option to do that based on the unites of measurement provided above so I will go ahead and list it here. As I have mentioned in my last grow I enjoy doing DIY projects and that includes how I feed my plants. This grow I have been saving, drying, and collecting both banana/plantain peels and garlic/onion peels to grind down and sprinkle in as a top dressing. In my previous grow I used both of these items in a different fashion adding them to water and letting them steep for several days before I fed my plants. As much as I enjoyed that method and saw a positive response, I feel like storage-wise, keeping them as dry adamants made more sense + I didn't have to deal with any funky smells. I would probably say that I sprinkle 1.5 - 2 tables spoons of each powder to the top of my substrate and then water them in thus allowing them to break down, release nutrients and feed the microbial life in the substrate. There was nothing particularly challenging about this week. What I have noticed though, is that that the combination of coco & soil in a nearly 1:1 ratio has improved moisture retention. Unlike growing in straight coco where you have to water everyday I have found that this is unnecessary and the plant can go quite a few days in between its next watering/feeding. I had noticed this several weeks ago but it was confirmed to me after listening to an episode of "The Cheap Home Grow" podcast where there was a debate about growing in soil vs. growing in coco between Jeff Lowenfels & Dr. MJ (definitely worth the listen)!👌

I've always found this to be a good read on defoliation. The content on this site takes a scientific approach. https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/community/photons_corner/to-defoliate-or-not-to-defoliate/
