This baby got off to an interesting start. She sprouted quickly but had trouble shedding her shell. The weight held her down and she kept stretching, so she curled down. I finally helped pop that shell and then she opened up her first set of leaves. This might work out to help keep her low! This is the first time I'm only growing one plant in the basin so I hope she takes advantage of the room and my full attention!
Raised the light up a few inches this week after the first set of real leaves started pointing downward. Seems to have been a good move as the new leaves are looking strong. We'll see how it goes with this bent main stem.
It's been 31 days since I soaked the seed. This week, I slowly introduced her to her first taste of nutrients. I am going simple again an only using maxibloom for the entire grow. I was pleased with the results and simplicity of the last grow and want to see how the Lucas Formula will work with only one plant in the basin. She popped out a couple new sets of leaves and I wanted to start LST as the main stem is thickening up fast. So far so good. Everything looks healthy, probably most promising start of all grows so far.
38 days since soaking the seeds. Nice growth this week, new leaves everyday. Taking it slow with the nutrients, same amount as last week. Trying to keep her low, and doing some tucking when I top off the basin with fresh water. Roots looking very healthy.
45 days since soaking the seed. Second week of half nutrients and the whiskers are filling in. Overall, things look healthy. I added the second light, 300W LED UFO, a day before cleaning out the basin. I think things will really start happening now, as we go to full nutes, and full light. Happy with things so far, she is staring to smell like a pine tree.
52 days since soaking the seeds. This was the first week of full dose nutrients, 7g. I will continue with this amount for the rest of the grow. Lots of white whiskers on the main cola, and all bud sites. I wish I was able to keep her lower, but she thickened up quickly and is shooting up like a small tree. Overall, looking healthy, roots super white.
59 days since soaking the seeds. Buds sites thickening up, but there looks to be some type of deficiency this week. Hoping a fresh feeding and new water will help green her back up.
66 days since soaking the seed. Staying the coarse with the simple feeding schedule. Leaf color looks better all around week over week and bud sites are thickening up. Happy with where we are to this point considering the effort.
73 days since soaking the seed. Looks like I have maybe one or two weeks to go before the flush. Bottom of the plant is still very green, while the top looks to be close. She is thickening up nicely and has some weight to her.
80 days since soaking the seed. We're close to the finish line. Hard to tell from the pictures, but she is all muscle. I can't wait to trim her up and see just how dense she is. The pod keeps dropping through the lid of the basin from the weight! I think a couple more days of a final feed and a couple days of a flush and we'll be ready. Smells really good!
87 days since soaking the seed. Feeding is complete. Just finished up her last week of food and beginning the flush with distilled water. Will be harvesting on day 90. I can't wait to trim her up and see just how thick her main cola is! This was a very easy grow with minimal effort and time spent. Probably only spent about 15 minutes a week maintaining.
As you can see, my grow space is a small stealthy grow box. My goal is to get at least an ounce per grow to last me until the next 3 months, and do it with as little effort as possible. The only maintenance I did was weekly cleaning of the small basin, prior to weekly feedings. I topped off the basin with plain water when needed. I didn't go crazy with pH checking as I knew my solution was right on at 5.8 when I fed her. The MaxiBloom seemed to auto balance the filtered tap water I used. I just mixed the solution 24 hours prior to feeding and I rarely had to use pH down. It was exactly 90 days from seed to harvest.
This was my best looking harvest and the first of my grows where I only had one plant. This seems like the way to go, as I would sacrifice some quantity for quality. Can't wait to try! My first sativa!
@@ATOWN, I’ve never done soil so I don’t have first hand experience. But the argument is that the plants can grow bigger/faster in hydro since they don’t have to work as hard to get their food. It’s very simple but the only thing to fear is a power outage.
@@ATOWN, thanks! It’s a small operation but it’s been perfect for my needs. Close to 2oz of fresh bud every 3 months with minimal effort and no one even has a clue!

@northernMike, not sure how I didn't see your grow until now. Looks like we're about on the same pace. I can see similarities with our plants, obviously yours have more room and are in soil, but I think they both are the same strain. I'm not so sure my last grow was truly Northern Lights. It didn't look or smell like the previous grows, so I suppose a seed slips into the wrong packaging from time to time. This is my first real sativa so very excited to try it. Hope I get at least an ounce out of here. Good luck with the rest of your grow! I'll be checking in!
