Continued attempting LST but a top was damaged so I decided to try Topping on a whim, we'll see if I end up regretting it 🙃 a lot of people say not to top autos. She's going into pre-flower, not sure if that was trigger by the stress of topping but it will mean that my new tops won't have much time to grow.
This week she quickly showed me that she was hungry, and since I'm using slow release amendments, she'll probably be mad at me for a while. She started perking up for me though.
Getting impatient but loving this girl. There's definitely been some changes this week. I took a few leaves off. She's sharing a tent with a 2 week old White Crack from Mephisto, some struggling kratky cherry tomato plants, and some catnip 😆
This week went by quickly. I took off some leaves gradually and checked the trichomes a few times. I cut one of the tops that looked ready to go (judging from trichomes) and set it up to dry. I think I'll keep checking trichomes, I prefer couch lock so I'll be looking for some more ambers.
Throughout this grow I've used Dr. Earth premium gold, flower girl, and kelp meal. Grow media is coco, perlite, and a little bit of worm castings.
It feels like it's been a long week!
Because this strain was a freebie, there wasn't a recommendation on when to chop.. I've been watching trichomes for a while and decided to chop half, and leave the other half to see what week I prefer. I'm going to leave this other half of the plant for probably another week and a half. Hopefully buds will increase in size and density by then. I'm not sure how far I can let her go with the obvious signs of hunger, but we'll see. These plants are definitely still experimental for me.
After drying and trimming, I'm estimating 1/8th but haven't weighed it. I'm really excited about making edibles with the trim because there was a lot of it.
I've pretty much ignored her and just watered this week. I'd already defoliated all I wanted to remove and it's just been a waiting game. Hunger and deficiencies are still obvious. I do think that the buds got a little bigger but not really by much.
Tomorrow is the first day of week 10 and I'm thinking about harvesting.. I'm always doubting though and wondering if waiting would make a difference.
With autos I really think a bigger pot would be beneficial, my lady in the 3gal is bigger. Probably going to go with 3s from now on. 🙃 Right now all I can do is plan for whenever my next grow will be!
