Another new diary! (I popped a few hehe). This is another fast flowering tester from FastBuds. Excited to get rolling, I’ve been trouble with seedlings so I’m hoping a few make it. This morning is the third in the line, “ FF 3 - 49 days Sativa / Indica” Seeded in a peat pod in a container of HP Pro Mix and Myke Herbs and Vegetables. I actually germinated on a heat mat in my clone box before moving to the main tent. This is day 3. My lighting is a 300Watt actual draw LED with 1/6th of that again in a smaller custom 3D printed pod, this is over the seedlings.

Day 10 for the third Fast Buds fast flower tester. Cold, cold, cold, has been the theme. My basement just swings too wildly, and my veg. tent just can’t maintain a true core temperature. All my young plants are dying. So, I diverted my furnace basement output directly into my veg. tent, then I installed a secondary thermostat to my furnace which will provide the consistency factor. I am really hoping this saves things in time. Note: FFT#3 has been the most devastated and struggling of the testers I’ve got going.

Day 17 for the FFT3 tester. Some good, some bad. Its a bit overwatered, all on me, and its taking some time to rebound from the temperatures. But the seedling is still upright and perky, and has grown ever so slightly. Will it rebound? Should I scrap it? The state of this seedling last week compared to this week gives me hope that I really helped the environment and could save things on whole.

Day 24 for the third FastBuds fast flowering tester. A short summary would be slow recovery, but go back and you’ll see a struggle with temperatures that set every seedling back. My patience is ending and I may move on soon. To be fair, it seems green is returning ... but very slowly. After fixing the heat issues I felt I had overwatered so I did not give anything all week. The seedling was perky and dried out. I did have to give more water and now you can see some more droop. We shall see where this is going... (Apologies for the blurry picture, sloppy work)

Day 31 for the third strain in FastBuds fast flowering tester line. And here I thought I was coming into this week to raise the white flag, to give up, and the seedling had other plans. I can’t quit! I’m really not sure if it was mostly underwatering or overwatering as they look similar, maybe both. But the comeback started with a very dilute 18-18-21 Miracle Grow Tomato and blackstrap molasses mix. Then, I tried a less dilute mix of 24-8-16 Miracle Grow All Purpose food with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Its green and doing well all of a sudden.

Day 38 from seed for the third of the FastBuds photo testers. Things are going well! Lots of green and growth, I’ve moved the plant to the general space, and transplanted to a larger container. Repotting allowed me to assess the roots and true plant size. My soil mix was primarily: 10 parts HP Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil, and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. I will continue as is and hopefully this rebound is steady and consistent.

Day 45 from seed for the third in the fast flowering FastBuds tester line. Wow! This thing exploded this week. It was super tall and lanky, similar to FFT2 which has been the tall one all along. It didn’t really stretch in a way or in timing that I could train like the aforementioned FFT2, so I transplanted. I might just grow it out in this way. In other words, this might be the final container. I actually had a soil mix leftover from another transplant, so I used it. To note is that it is a quite hot mix, its intended for mature plants. I will only apply water for awhile. My soil mix was : 30 HP Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 2 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 2 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 2 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 pulverized egg shells; and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. I heavily layered. This was at the bottom with a solid barrier of just HP Pro Mix which I also used to side and top fill. The plant will have to work to get at the soil amendment.

Day 52 from seed for the second FastBuds fast flowering tester, FFT2. After photos last week I performed LST, and I have been hacking away and defoliating. It looks like a completely different plant. Just water and time and allowing it to recover and fill in each session with scissors.

Day 59 from seed for the third of the fast flowering testers from FastBuds. A rocky week for alot of plants as my temperatures have been inconsistent both in my tent and outside in my region. When the days are warm my upstairs doesn’t trigger the furnace and the tent is slightly colder. FFT3 has done okay as it was a big plant, it has filled in from last week. Temps are evident on plants with streaked branches and stems. I trimmed again after photos and will continue to give water and time. Offshoots should be able to catch up soon. (Sort of crowded for pics)

Day 66 from seed for the third of the fast flowering Fast Buds testers. Filling out from last week’s defoliation. I moved some bigger plants out and so there is better air circulation and light. Just water as there is plenty of soil amendment. Still awhile yet before any space will open to flower.

Day 73 from seed for the third Fast Buds fast flowering tester, FFT3. The timing with soil amendment was nice as I’ve had other plants really struggle with discolouration and imbalance/deficiency. FFT3 however, looks very strong. The stem and branches are still nice and green. This fast flowering tester will likely be the first of mine to get flowered. I have only given water. The very first group shot is before defoliation this week.

Day 78 from seed for FFT3, the third of the FastBuds fast flowering testers. Things have been ebbing and flowing in my tent and quality has been up and down. I seriously could use more veg. room. So, for a few of the plants that made it through the last week or two generally unharmed, and those having had plenty of time with soil amendment, they will be put into flower. FFT3 is one of these plants. You can see it just starting to get straggly. The green is fading and the stems showing some phosphorous deficiency. It has been in the container for five weeks. We will see how this condition effects stretch, then it will get plenty of phosphorous and potassium. I was able to take a single clone so at least I have a chance at not expending another seed.

Day 87 from seed for the third of the fast flowering FastBuds testers. One week of flowering complete, about six weeks to go? The projection seems insane. We shall see. Fast flowers! A good amount of stretch this week. Because it is supposedly fast and I can see the start of pistils I have started flower food. I only gave it yesterday so not really anything noticable yet. 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), and a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses. My flower tent is 6’ x 4’ of hung mylar in the same unfinished basement. The lighting is the historic DIY evolution. Two 300watt full spectrum LEDs identical to my veg. tent’s light. 96 watts worth of yellow LEDs bulbs. This was to supplement the full spectrum big boys. And two, 50 watt pods of mixed spectrum. I only have an approximation as its custom made, and 3D printed.

Day 94 for FFT3. Two weeks of flowering complete, about five weeks to go. You can definitely see the acceleration with these fast photoperiod plants. I am still skeptical they will develop into big buds, but thats the fun intrigue. I recently gave water so in a couple days it will get another feeding. My region got heavy rain recently, and I’ve been flushing other plants, so the humidity is spiked today.

Day 101 from seed for FFT3, the third of the fast flowering testers. Three weeks of flowering complete, about four weeks to go. Building buds, nice white pistil caps. I recently fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Stretch should be over for sure, I’m hoping things can accelerate with four weeks left. Of course I can always extend things.

Day 108 for FFT3. Four weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. I would say the third of the fast flowering testers came on strong. You can see how much a bulb the crown nugs are. This makes me think if you had a prime setup this strain would he really nice. A wonderful tangy, zesty, citrus or orange type smell. Last irrigation was water.

Day 115 from seed for FFT3. Five weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. Five days ago I gave 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I’ll just give water here on out. Even if I cut in two weeks, the buds look decent. Nice citrus smell. I want to grow a bigger plant of this FastBuds strain.

Day 112 for FFT3. Six weeks of flowering complete, about one week to go. I’ll push it another ween after so this is about two weeks to go. It last got water and will continue to get water until the end. I would say most of my fast flower testers have been poor attempts (on my part), so I don’t have a great sense of the first five, but the smell of FFT3 seems best. I want to continue this one most perhaps, on account of the citrus.

Day 119 for FFT3, the third of the FastBuds testers. Seven weeks of flowering complete, this is the start of the window apparently. I’m going to hold off one more week and harvest alongside another plant. I am just flushing away. The smell is unreal, both in its accuracy to tangerine but also the strength. It may be one of the more generally smelly plants I’ve grown. Lots of crystal/trichomes and resin too.

Happy Harvest Day!

This is my first report on FFT3, the third of the fast flowering photoperiod testers from Fast Buds. Like many on the go at the moment, this was a smaller sea of green style, so I got more of an idea of taste and effect rather than yield. I ran the first five testers in winter so I was struggling with the youngling states. All five grows were somewhat tainted with cold temperatures, and so the rate of bounceback was more chance than anything, I’m not sure FFT3 is actually stronger than any of the other testers. Other than early temp. struggles, there were no issues with this one. Obviously, I wish I had gotten it bigger now that I see the stretch, I will make up for it with my single clone that I took and have vegging. FFT3 produced lots of trichomes and got nice and crystally. During growing it was quite strong with a light tangerine or orange-y smell. Upon harvest, the smell persisted but the reality is it is a light smell. It will give you a hint of tangie when mixing, or give a bit more flavour if solo, but the taste is easily overpowered by other strains. I want to be clear, the taste is fantastic, its just not heavy. It becomes more clear and distinct with time and curing. I find with many tropical or citrus like strains really don’t get strong flavour until it has had time. Like the taste which provides just a nice citrus backdrop to bowls, the effects are nothing special on their own but are a nice hybrid to add to any session. Its just sort of bang in the middle of indica and sativa, the effect is there, light and relaxing. Very manageable. Of the first five testers (FFT1-5), I haven’t vaped them all but this one stands out as one of the better flavour wise. I don’t think it would be your backbone strain, though.

No issues with harvest as it was a tiny little plant. I gave a bit more extra darkness before chopping. I wet trimmed and then bud wash, led, then hung to dry. First I dipped and swirled in baking soda, lemon juice, and water; and then I dipped in just water.
