Strain
This is my first report on FFT3, the third of the fast flowering photoperiod testers from Fast Buds. Like many on the go at the moment, this was a smaller sea of green style, so I got more of an idea of taste and effect rather than yield.
I ran the first five testers in winter so I was struggling with the youngling states. All five grows were somewhat tainted with cold temperatures, and so the rate of bounceback was more chance than anything, I’m not sure FFT3 is actually stronger than any of the other testers.
Other than early temp. struggles, there were no issues with this one. Obviously, I wish I had gotten it bigger now that I see the stretch, I will make up for it with my single clone that I took and have vegging.
FFT3 produced lots of trichomes and got nice and crystally. During growing it was quite strong with a light tangerine or orange-y smell. Upon harvest, the smell persisted but the reality is it is a light smell. It will give you a hint of tangie when mixing, or give a bit more flavour if solo, but the taste is easily overpowered by other strains. I want to be clear, the taste is fantastic, its just not heavy. It becomes more clear and distinct with time and curing. I find with many tropical or citrus like strains really don’t get strong flavour until it has had time.
Like the taste which provides just a nice citrus backdrop to bowls, the effects are nothing special on their own but are a nice hybrid to add to any session. Its just sort of bang in the middle of indica and sativa, the effect is there, light and relaxing. Very manageable.
Of the first five testers (FFT1-5), I haven’t vaped them all but this one stands out as one of the better flavour wise. I don’t think it would be your backbone strain, though.
