** Continuation of previous Sour Diesel grow diary (check part 1 in profile). Was unable to add additional weeks (past week 14) to diary part 1 so moving grow log to here. Flower week 7 - Nutrient regimen(per gallon): 1.50 ml Armor Si + 2.0 ml CalMag + 6 ml FloraMicro + 9 ml FloraBloom + 1 ml Floralicious Plus + 2.25 ml Liquid KoolBloom. Solution ph'd to 5.8. 12/15/2018 (F47) - Pistil hairs not standing straight up anymore since last update. More brown/orange hairs on left plant than right. Now at mid-point in grow and have to be careful of high humidity which killed last grow with cotton candy-looking mold. According to vapor pressure deficit chart (https://www.dimluxlighting.com/knowledge/vapor-pressure-deficit-vpd-calculator/), grow is currently in optimal levels (tent =77F and 42% humidity, leaf temperature = 73F as measured with infrared thermometer gun). Feeding/watering within couple hours of lights turning on due to concern of higher humidity at lights off time. Shelf grow update: Reveg on clones seem to be at standstill. No new growth apparent. Going to "sacrifice" these clones soon anyhow due holiday guests, but new seeds should be here this week and will hopefully post pics when they get here. Of herbs, arugula only one that doesn't appear to be thriving and it's supposed to be a fast growing plant too. Only use 1 or 2 herbs a week for cooking so plenty of surplus. Going to add some much needed color on shelf with lavender soon but those seeds are hard to germinate.

Flower week 8 - Nutrient regimen(per gallon): 1.50 ml Armor Si + 2.0 ml CalMag + 6 ml FloraMicro + 9 ml FloraBloom + 1 ml Floralicious Plus + 2.25 ml Liquid KoolBloom. Solution ph'd to 5.8. 12/20/2019 (F52) - Still over a month from harvest. Bud sites continuing to cultivate mass and get frostier. Thankfully, no sign of buds drooping unlike last grow which was done without scrog. Current low winter humidity is another good sign at this stage in flower, but may adversely affect drying the harvest later on. One big concern stems from the shelf grow. Currently, there seems to be a (spider?) mite infestation there and if it spreads to the tent this grow is fucked. Already tossed the clones which were teaming with them and am researching treatment options for the herbs which are also infected. Probably going to spray them with a neem solution tomorrow, but am worried about consuming the herbs afterward. Wondering how many mites might've accidentally added to meals already. Additionally, shelf grow also has large fungus gnat problem (check yellow sticky card in pic). Should just burn shelf grow down. Shit. (Tent climate: 79F, 36% humidity) 12/21/2019 (Shelf grow entry) - Webbing confirms previous guess of spider mites. Mixed 5 ml neem oil extract with 32 oz water. Sprayed entire solution onto all herbs and surrounding plants. Turned off circulation fan to prevent neem from drying too fast, and, for whatever reason, turned lights off. Now going to have to use dried herbs on the holiday chicken like some savage. After inspection, plants in tent seem clean atm. So many spider mites on that leaf in pic, should have spotted this sooner.

** Site moderator fixed previous problem with adding additional weeks past grow week 17 to diary. Could conceivably merge Sour Diesel Part 1 and Part 2, but then would have to re-add everything to Part 1 again. Too much effort but there you go. Flower week 10 - Nutrient regimen(per gallon): 0.75 ml Armor Si + 1.25 ml CalMag + 6 ml FloraMicro + 9 ml FloraBloom + 1 ml Floralicious Plus + 2.50 ml Liquid KoolBloom. Solution ph'd to 5.8. 1/4/2019 (F67) - Got lazy with the diary updating. Sorry. Grow is still more than 3 weeks from harvest, and slowly decreasing calmag and armor si nutrients. Humidity has been a bit of an issue in past couple weeks and tent reached a high of 62% at night. Have since increased setting of both circulation fans to max, increased tent exhaust fan to max, and brought in a loud fucking dehumidifier in room to join the orchestra. Noise is now 45 db in room (35 db) with dehumidifier off. Dehumidifier raises temperature in tent 5 F. Yellowing sugar leaves noticed on some buds on right plant only and left plant seems fine. Could be nutrient burn from the KoolBloom probably but should only affect the appearance and trimming. New pistil growth is still happening as well as additional foxtails appearing. Foxtailing seems to be genetic component perhaps? Highest tent temperature reached was 84 F. Some fan leaves, especially directly under light and closer to 6" circulation fan, are canoeing or tacoing (?), however, the added air circulation also seems more important as a preventative measure against mold (Tent: 83F, 35% humidity). Shelf grow had 3 treatments of neem oil and given a healthy watering with Grower's Recharge. Thankfully, the mite infestation seems to be visibly gone though probably not eradicated. Tent is clean after some inspection and new usb microscope didn't show any creepy crawlies. Still have to do some more trimming on herbs. Eventually will have to make room for new marijuana plants. Seeds arrived today from Seedsman after longer than anticipated wait of 30 days from order. Only 3rd time ordering seeds online and never owned this many before. Actually only ordered 11 of the seeds and other 11 were freebies from their Black Friday sale in early December. This will last me 3-5 years! Not to sound like a shill, but all these seeds were under $100, and compared to my last order from Canada, they don't shake you down on shipping and insurance (around $8-9 for each). Going to try to grow 2 of the autos next grow starting soon. Still playing around with new USB microscope connected to PC, but instruction say if connected to phone it'll have pictures with higher resolution. Above pics are 720p and will try 1080p shots with phone.

Flower week 11 - Nutrient regimen(per gallon): 3 ml FloraMicro + 9 ml FloraBloom + 1 ml Floralicious Plus + 0.25 tsp Dry KoolBloom. Solution ph'd (upped) to 5.8. 1/8/2019 (F71) - Fuck me. All this time I assumed Sour Diesel had a 12 week flower, and now after looking up breeder's information on seeds it looks like it's only 10 weeks! The microscope pics in last previous week's entry clued me in to look it up and admit that those were amber trichomes. Going to have to adapt and condense the the last 2 week nutrient schedule into 4 days and chop on 5th day. So it's 1) dry koolbloom 2) dry koolbloom 3) florakleen 4) florakleen 5) chop. No more calmag now and micro dose halved, but probably won't see a proper fade before harvest. Another thing which I can't blame on genetics, the foxtailing! Finally noticed this one peculiar bud (posted up above) with the side facing the lights growing foxtails with new pistils, while the other side of the bud facing away and towards the side of tent remained unaffected. Growweedeasy site (https://www.growweedeasy.com/keep-getting-new-white-pistils) suggests it's light stress. Lights are currently 8" away from canopy but COB driver isn't turned all to max (last KillAWatt check was 200w out of 275w max). The new pistils fooled me into believing plants had few weeks left. Sorry plants, next grow won't suffer same fate. Check out the trichome pics of the new growth (point calyx with white pistils), visually they're more appealing than the other pics showing more amber, bc the amber pics look more decayed and maybe burnt looking. Hard to guess the amber trichome percentage overall right now, perhaps 10%? Left plant could come down few days before right one, but both will probably get harvested at same time. New grow coming soon. Just started germinating a couple autos in peat pellets: Auto Bubble Gum and Auto Cheese Berry by 00 Seeds. New grow diary will start in few days once seeds pop. 1/12/2019 (F75) - Long grow came to an end today. Some of the leaves and buds on left plant are visually darker than right which can probably be traced to the temperature difference between light cycles (~68F night temperature vs ~84F day temperature). Originally, was going to hand the entire plant by their main trunks, but it was buried and didn't want to make a mess. Also, squares on bottom scrog are a bit smaller than top one and I didn't want to cut up the scrog to extract the plants. Current drying condition in tent: 73F and 50% humidity. Both 6" circulation fans were moved to bottom of tent and exhaust fan set to maximum. Colas are touching each other on hanger, but humidity isn't that high and they'll shrink a bit so hopefully not too much cause for concern. Plan is to dry at least a week in tent, and if humidity drops too much I'll turn on the humidifier to extend the dry time. There's 24 good size colas in the tent and I'm excited to see what final weight will be. Please don't be moldy like last time!

Happy Harvest Day!

Still curing so haven't sampled yet, but this was a treat to grow. Due to its size, the buds may need support or it'll get droopy in tent. First unsuccessful grow of this strain resulted in bud rot ruining the grow, so be mindful of high humidity. These plants foxtailed toward the end of flower perhaps due to light proximity and started to grow purple presumably because of the day/night temperature difference. The yield on these plants was unexpectedly phenomenal and my personal best. For pure output, this strain would be hard to beat.

1/19/2020 (post-harvest) - Last mistake of this grow was letting it dry too long. The humidity in tent dropped from 47% to 32% on 5th day of drying and didn't get to trim and bottle until very late the next day. Took until today for humidity in jars to reach 60% from a start of upper 40's when trimmed, and had to resort to boveda packs. Worrying now about loss of potency and smell. But the yield on this was far beyond my expectations and 5.5 oz more than my previous best yield. 455.5 g = 16.07 oz = 1.0 lb! Both plants came out almost even too, with left plant edging out right one by 5.3 grams. Never thought my little 5 ft square tent (20" x 36") would reach that. Going to try making some bubble hash with some of the loot.

Sorry, messed up the week labeling for HST, LST, scrog, and topping up at top of page so ignore that please. Thanks for reaching the end of this grow with me!
