Strain: Mephisto Genetics S.O.D.K
Tent: 60cmx60cm tent with a few other plants.
Light: HLG QB288 V2 at about 150w
Pots: 5 litre fabric pots
Soil: Canna Terra Professional
Nutrients: GH Flora Trio
First time with Mephisto but heard great things so want to give them a go. Trying a few different strains at once in same conditions.
Big explosion of growth over the past week.
Staying very short like the others which is no bad thing as I am limited with height in my current environment.
Added light FloraGro to every other watering. Hopefully it'll be another good week!
Plant has remained very short despite not being trained in any way. Still expecting some stretch to occur however.
Upped nutes to flowering quantities but may back off a bit as tips are burning slightly. Slight smell, so far so good.
Very short plant in the end. It is very pretty though with the pistils turning pink already.
I think the stretch is over as it's starting to bulk out a little now.
Going very easy on the nutes as I don't want to burn her.
Plant has stayed very small and is unfortunately underneath other plants foliage :(
Some of the lower branches are not getting any light. Is it worth removing them as I don't think they'll reach full potential. Or would that stress the plant out?
Other than that, plant looks pretty healthy.
Loving the looks of this one. Turning very purple. Would have been so pretty if there weren't the issues early on.
Still looking to be a good one.
Unfortunately as there are 4 plants in the same tent not sure on exact smell at present.
Very pretty plant still. Purple hues looking wonderful all over. Hopingfthe final buds keep this beauty. Smell is earthy at the moment but getting stronger all the time.
Holy. Shit. This is most likely gonna be my best plant up to this point
Smell is unreal and hard to describe. Sweet and earthy but still different somehow. I think judging by the trichomes that it is largely ready to be pulled, so im going to do that over the next day or two.
If anybody recommends I leave it please do say haha.
Mephisto is the real deal. These few plants are the best ive ever had and I would say this is possibly tied top.
Nice head high from this one, but if you smoke enough you'll be on the couch haha. Lovely taste and veeery pretty purple buds. Flavour is kind of an earthy spice. Smell is very distinctive and unlike any other weed i ever smoked. Will be running again next time.
This was the prettiest plant i have ever grown. Would happily have it as a houseplant haha. Grew easy and stayed short and squat throughout. I went very easy on the nutrients this run and i think ill try another brand for the next ones.
I think I got lucky with the phenotype on this one so we shall see what the next ones bring!
@Ashbash, to be honest, I looked up on Reddit and the reviews are mixed. Some say it helps and works great well others say the opposite. I'm pretty new to indoor grows, outdoors in my opinion are much less maintenance. So please don't take my advice lol. Google " defoliation of autoflowers" and some Reddit posts should show up. Then you'll be able to make a more educated decision. Anyways, all the best and happy growing!
@Hemposapien,
I'm never sure about defoliating when there's an issue. If it's pulling nutes from the leaves causing them to die, wouldn't removing them start the process earlier on leaves that aren't affected yet? I pull when there's very little material left for photosynthesis.
@Ashbash, my next grow that's what I'm going with. Every seed bank I contact says they're out of stock. There's one near me saying they're getting stock in 2 weeks tho. 🤞
@Hemposapien,
Hey dude,
I did half decide to defoliate. The methodology I used was that if the leaf came off with a little tug, then it was supposed to be removed but if it didn't come off I decided to leave it on as it wasn't completely dead.
I believe that when it's growing then any leaves that are on the plant help with photosynthesis and will help the plant grow. But if a leaf comes off then it was ready to die anyway. Once the plant is in the final week or so I don't think it matters so remove as you see fit. Will only help with trimming then I reckon.
Looking healthy!
interesting strain, i've always been curious how this strain would grow, look forward to staying updated.
Im in week 2 right now and excited to see how it goes
