Sunny One more attempt to grow in the same soil in the same pot the second plant. The idea is that basil roots have to be full of nitrogen. Again only water the whole cycle.

Sunny The night is cold. Around 10 Celsius. Put the lamps as close as possible. Lady is growing. With last three months experience I’m afraid to see preflower yet. Last 3 bushes were dwarfs. This one gives me hope to grow something bigger. Started LST today to stimulate branches. Leaves shows no deficit in nutrition.

Sunny Tried an old grandma method of fertilizing ) with a carrot. Just tear the carrot and leave it in 1-2 liters of water for one day. Then the water becomes full of useful nutrition. No one knows what exactly there but it works fine with room flowers. Anyway I’m not going to use any artificial fertilizers the whole cycle. So we will see how it works with weed. Preflower start to appear. So it is an auto ) so happy it grew bigger than all my plants last 6 months

Sunny It got very cold. The growth nearly stopped. Minus is not possible here so no worries. But will wait a bit longer for ripening.

Sunny A lot of yellow leaves appeared at flowering. Which means either over watering or lack of some nutrition.

Sunny The last improvement of the soil with river clay and stone powder brought a lot of new growth on the purple buds.

Sunny Nothing special happened. New growth on buds. And nice heavy smell. It’s neighbour appeared to be a hermaphrodite!! Moved it far far away and now trying to remove the balls from two branches. Can it work somehow to avoid pollination ?

What's in the growing medium? Soil and PErlite? What kind of mutes do you use and do you alter the ph of your water. I'm growing my first auto and it's been stunted since week 3 just want to avoid that next time
Sunny
Sunnycommented6y ago
@Ihbag, it is in equal volumes - compost, perlite and peat moss

@Sunny, nice i think that will be my next grow medium....for my 1st i used a organic potting mix....not enough oxygen to the roots maybe but it didnt grow much at all. Il be using coco peat instead of peat moss tho, did you use nutes?
Sunny
Sunnycommented6y ago
@Ihbag, no extra nutrition

Looking really good, must be so close to harvest. Did you just put the river clay and stone powder on top of your existing soil....I'm very curious indeed.
Sunny
Sunnycommented5y ago
@Lovemabud, i put a mix. The same as the soil in pot, but compost is replaced with river clay. Plus some stone powder added. It is a layer of 5 cm over the existing soil. The bush reacted with fresh growth of buds!
Sunny
Sunnycommented5y ago
@Lovemabud, the soil was equal volume of perlite, peat moss and compost.
