mindbuzz To start, I want to thank the good people at https://whitewidow.rocks/ seedbank here in Canada. They are wonderful people to deal with, and they have made learning to grow a lot of fun - due to such low prices on seeds, when I make one or two die here or there in the name of experimentation and getting to know growing, is nothing for the invaluable knowledge gained that can be applied to future grows. It has really taken the pressure off when you know financially you won't break the bank breaking a main stem or two. So, thank you whitewidow.rocks! With photoperiods I would normally use the paper towel method to germinate the taproot. I have pretty much 100% success at germinating from seed to soil via paper towel method. However, I am not overly confident in my abilities with autoflowers, and I do know that any hiccup or stutter in the plant's growth can substantially lower the yield, quality, or both. Therefore, I figured it best to plant directly into the final container to skip possible shock during transplant. Though I have grown about half a dozen autos now since legalization (14 months now), they have all been side projects and been less important than the photoperiods I've grown. So this time, I figured I would give it the ol' college try. And I figured you guys can come along to laugh, cry, praise or teach me a few tricks of your own, if you have some. Perhaps I'll be able to share what little I know about the finickyness of autoflowers. Wish me luck! UPDATE JAN 11/20 - The photoperiod seed would not germinate. After 10 days of trying, I gave up and thew it out. The autos will be joined by a mystery photoperiod seed I was blessed with from a strain I thought we'd lost from back in the summer, so that will also be going into the 4x4 to grow it out enough to make many, many clones for summer grow, so long as it germinates. I sure hope so. It's awful finding those beautiful phenos and have no way of keeping their genetics going. ... Anyway, I blab ... ! Enjoy the rest of the holidays motherfarmers!

mindbuzz Am I high, or why can I not find General Hydroponics products in the nutrient section? Oh well. I see others have it listed in their grows. Oh well, I can hardly see straight, and hence, be bothered. Pics are of 8 day seedlings. Planted on Dec 26, had four leaves by the 29th. I count that as day 1. Is that right? If so, today's pics are at the 8 day mark. Took the 1000W LED, 75 and 45W of various spectrums off the wee lasses, and put the 600W MH approximately 24 inches from plants' tops. I'm sure the roots are developing presently and expect explosion in veg growth in a matter of days. UPDATE Jan 11/20; Just wanted to add a 13 day pic before week's end. I was going to try mainlining one or both, but don't have the balls. I have a couple side projects, autos of unknown strain. I'll try mainlining one of those for fun.

In spring, if I put out photoperiod plants that'd been growing indoors under 24 hrs, & they're put outside into 14 hrs that gets an extra few minutes each day, would it continue in veg, or start flowering & then revert? Not related to this grow, but appreciate the info. Thanks!!

No (90% of the time) Need a couple days of 12 or hours complete darkness to trigger a flower. Moonlight is fine but any external lights from your house or neighbours could prolong the veg if you're worried but make sure it's gone for flowering because it can stop flower or re-veg (Security Lights Motion Sensor, etc.) The 10% that could trigger it would be stress and/or genetic related but if you're starting small plants for a full summer grow they'll be fine 👍 Many people start their plants indoors with a longer light cycle to get a good base plant faster to transplant outside.

Why not just start them at 14 hrs. Remember you have to harden off the plant when you take it outside.

There is no single answer. It happens that they bloom to the end with brooms. Sometimes they bloom at first, the sweat goes over to re-vegetation. There have been cases of plants dying. But mostly flowering and re-vegetation in May.

mindbuzz They've taken off this week. Eager to LST them, but don't want to do it too early. I have a couple other autoflowers in the tent that I'm "experimenting" with. I've mainlined one... that will be interesting, but little yield. Also popped 1 GG and 1 GG4xGSC ... mother plants for summer. I want some trees this year.

It's okay. I didn't like any of those answers. I think you're all missing the point. I have a tent burning light 24 hrs around the clock. Currently there's autos in there, and when they show signs of flowering, I'll flip the light to my 600W HPS. This is the reason why I wanted to know about the mother plants and clones of photoperiods I'll be mixing in with maybe the tail end of MH and the start of flowering. Plan is, I want two healthy mothers to cut clones from. The only thing I really want to know is, if I take photoperiod plants living in a 24hr environment, then move them outside for 14 hrs first day, 14:02 second day, 14:04 hours the third day... see what I mean? Will it continue with the veg as the sunlight hours grow, or will it mess it up. I guess I'm asking others experience 'cause I did it last year fine and had great harvest. I'm interested, not implimenting.

Not that I don't appreciate the info, I just think I didn't deliver it properly
