First off I believe the strain name is wrong. It should be just FF03 but I’ll need to check with fastbuds. These are photo period test genetics from fastbuds and the FF stands for fast flower. They are supposed to be done in 50-60 days of flowering. I’m going to let them do their thing for a minimum of 40 days just to be sure they don’t have ruderalis. This is a brand new setup I built with floraflex 6” pot pro using coco and I’ll be testing their nutrients out as well. That being said they are about 10 days old but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to get the diary going.
Thanks for looking :)
Originally I didn’t think I had much to update until I compared the plants photos at 7 days. The ff3’s have definitely responded better to their new home than the neighboring ff2. They are definitely getting a thicker stalk and adding more foliage. I started the week with a light dose of flora flex nutrients which is by weight rather than tea or tablespoon. They call for 1 gram of the v1 & v2 per gallon of water and I opted for 1 for the entire 6 gallons. But with no response I adjusted the ph and added a small amount of Cali magic and flora grow. On my previous rockwool multi time per day feeding I would have expected these to be twice the size at two weeks. Hopefully we get some explosive growth soon.
Now we’re talking! The ladies have taken off after a 4 degree raise in temperature. I’ve topped all three of them at the 4th node and. They responded really well with a little shove back. I’ll give them a week and it’ll be time for some LST and a bump in nutes to maximum strength. Hoping to Bush them out and get them to about 30” before I flip the switch so that could be two weeks or a little more. Ps I’m liking these powder floraflex nutrients. Almost zero salt buildup.
It was a week of challenges and unfortunately I was not present to take part for work purposes. My assistant got the flu and missed a critical day of watering and the roots wen dry on all of the plants but the ones that suffered were both from the largest plants which were FF03. One was lost immediately and when I got back through a lot of trying to get the roots back up to the point they were drinking and a concocted foliar spray the front was is on the mend.
Today marks almost 5 weeks since germination and I thought that the damaged plant had recovered enough to make the journey the rest of the way home. I’m looking at other people’s phenos of this strain they can have quite a bit of stretch and given that I have another project up and going it was time to turn them to flower. I’d like to see the 36”+ stretch that I’ve seen out of others that would make these quite the specimens
Now this side of the tent seems to be doing great. At first I thought it was the air circulation with the other side so I’m still digging into that. Either way this is about these two ladies and I see the forming of pistils and can’t wait to see what kind of stretch they get into in the upcoming weeks. As for the coco vs. the rockwool way I’ve done it in the past I’m leaning towards the rockwool way. It’s easier and thus far the plants I get from it are larger. It consumes about the same amount of water although less nutrients.
These two are moving right along. Starting to show some great early flower stretch and one of which that has come back from the dead you could never tell right now. Did a water change this week to get the ppm back to a more normal number although this strain can handle whatever you give them this is not the case with their neighbors.
@stunflower, thanks! Hoping to change careers and make this my licensed full time gig sooner than later. All you need is a bunch of money and a lawyer to cut through the red tape.
Some lovely ladies. Happy and healthy. Great work. Keep doing what your doing and best of luck with the rest of the grow buddy.
P.s you like the hlg boards? Total lighting nerd and love hearing people's feedback
@ThatoneAKguy, damn now I want them even more. To bad I just built a new led a few weeks back. Either these or rapid are next for sure. Thanks for the feedback.
@Denzul,
Before the HLG’s I went through a ton of other lights. From cid to hps and halide, blurple and beyond. Bang for the buck nothing compares in my opinion.
@Silverback_Guerilla, I topped her once only and she’s back so I’m just going to leave her alone. I’m knocking off 2 hours a day of light to see how that impacts the transition to 12-12 too as a little test.
