Starting this up late, however today Purple-Lemonade is at day 30 along with 3 other plants of different genetics, which will be my first time growing these strains. They were germinated in soil in much smaller pots than they are in now, and i transplanted them to their final pot 4gal about 1.5 weeks old. You can see the picture cropped outlining the 'purple-lemonade' to the left, along with the 3 other strains growing. Started LST from last 2 weeks or so, and selective defoliation only blocking bud sites. Using 'Sta-Green' Potting Soil for this run, and WATER ONLY when watering. 3ft X 3ft Space shared by 3 other plants. (4 total) Rapid LED 100w V3 puck

Day 39 from Sprout: -She is looking pretty good, and you can tell she is one perfect for LST. Even though she is well into the flowering stage, she seems to still be stretching a bit, and stacking the buds and frost all at the same time. -I am noticing hints of 'purple' at the base of the more mature buds, so i expect her to explode with colors in a couple of weeks, can't wait! -This week I haven't been training her, or removing many leaves, just letting her do her thing. Earlier on right before she went into preflower, i did remove many leaves i felt was blocking bud sites, along with tying her down using LST. -As I moved the pot around, my arm bumped her, and i instantly smelled a strong pungent odor that we have all come to love! Seeing the frost level increase over the past week, no surprise to have that odor, but when i rub her small sugar leaves filled with that sugar, and sticky my fingers up, I do smell a hint of Lemonade.... Is it because I know the strain, or really does it have that smell lol ? -Going well this week, considering the soil that I am using, and the fact I have only been giving her mostly water, with some "cal-mag" every 2 waterings or so -One struggle I'm having is with the high humidity, so here is hoping to no bud rot or mold in my future!

Day 46: -She is doing pretty good still, and has certainly stopped her vertical growth for good. She is focusing more into swelling those buds, and though her smell is weak from a distance, if you put your nose right up to her, you get a very strong smell which I am happy with. -I have been watering her every other day with about half gallon of water. Some days I add 10ml of cal-mag per gallon of water, but not every watering. Still up until now, I haven't added any nutrients to this grow, only what she started out with in the potting soil I was able to get at the time. -I have removed only a handful of leaves which I thought was blocking bud sites. -Still no real 'purple' colors yet, but shades of purple can be seen here and there, but man is she FROSTY! So, all in all, I can't complain with her, considering she started out in a 1 gallon container with Fox Farms Ocean forest soil, then transplanted to a 4 gallon container, with "sta-green" potting soil, and only getting water and some 'cal-mag' every now and then. I really look forward to seeing her finish up, and enjoying that smoke!

Has anyone very used 'sta-green' potting soil on a grow, and if so, what kind of results did you get? I probably will not use it again, but it was what I had at the time, and really it's not doing as bad as I had thought it would. PEACE!

Hey brother. Don't know if someone gave you your answer through PM but I'm going to answer this question as best I can because no one else has... I haven't used Sta-green but just looked it up. This soil is a lot like Scotts all purpose soil and even though it works, it is not tailored to our Cannabis plants, high growth rate and nutrient needs. If you have access to a store/hydroponic shop that sells mediums specifically for cannabis or "tomatoes", I highly recommend giving them a visit. Since you're a dirt famer, like me, I'm assuming you'll be growing in soil again for your next run. You will find two types of soils, in general. Some will be 'nutrient amended" meaning they have usually been primed with nutrients to carry your girls through the early stages of growth without a need for nutrients (usually carries them 3-4 weeks or so). Then you'll find what I call "Neutral" soils. Just bare bones soil that isn't amended but does have all the other things we do need (ei. peat moss, perlite, worm castings etc...). Nutrient amended soils CAN be attractive because they're amended and it sounds nice not to have to feed for 4ish weeks. But I personally had issues with these soils (specifically Fox Farm Ocean Forest). It's hard to gauge what nutrients, and how much is actually in there (especially Nitrogen-they use bat crap in there's). This made it hard to feed... How much of my nutrient line do I put in? The benchmark feeding chart with my nutrients went out the window with this soil, and since I was a new grower, I struggled. If you go this direction, however, I would look at Fox Farm's Ocean Forest or Happy Frog, both of which are tailored for cannabis (tomato) use. Which leads me to "Neutral" soils. I love them. They have everything you need in a medium, but isn't amended with any extra's. This allows complete control on my end, with what and when I want to feed, without worrying about giving too much or not enough of one micro/macro nutrient. I do recommend these soils, overall, if you want complete control of your fertilizers and what your plant will be seeing at all times. I use two main brands now and have been mixing them 50/50 for my current grow. "Dutch Treat" and "Canna-Terra". Dutch is your basic soil, conditioned with perlite and canna terra is more of a loamy peat moss blend (good aeration). Whatever soil you use, amended or not, I also suggest putting at least a 1:10 ratio of perlite to soil for better aeration and so your roots can breath with the pockets of air the perlite creates. Anywho, doesn't matter what soil you go for, but this is my two cents on what I've used, problems I've encountered and the solution I used to gain control again. I'm glad this soil worked out, it usually does, it's just not "optimal" for what we grow and are more of an all-round general potting soil. The main perk of these soils, though, is they're cheap, whereas the mediums I suggested are not... but are worth it, trust me. Cheers man, hope this helped, if at all. Throw me a line in PM if you'd like to talk further on different mediums and how to condition/tailor them for our purposes. Good luck! Talk at you soon👍

Day 54: -She is doing good this week as well. really starting to frost up, and pack on the weight. -I forgot to mention last week that I did lollipop them including the purple lemonade, and i can see this week she is focusing more on the main colas -I have been feeding her 10ml 'cal-mag' per gallon of watering to combat the 'rust spots' im seeing, which I can't tell if its because i had the light a bit too close to them a couple weeks ago or not, so had to raise it, but autoflowers are notorious for loving 'cal-mag' anyway, so why not! -I'm not seeing as much purple as i thought i would, but overall she smells great, frosty as a snowman, and faint hints of purple, so, I'll take it!

Day 61: - She is doing really well, and I'm glad to start seeing the color showing through. From the base of the plant, the stem is turning a nice purple color, and its slowly fading into the buds, themselves..... just beautiful! - This week I've been giving mostly water, with one watering that had 'cal-mag' in it. I water every 2-3 days with this plant, and about 1/2 gallon of water at a time. She isn't a large one, but the quality will be there :) - She is finishing up quicker than I thought she would, but I expect her to go another 2 weeks maybe, then I'll be bringing her down, but time will tell.... oh and a loupe to see those trichs!.... - One of the things that I have found with this grow, along with the 3 other plants in the same tent (strawberry cheesecake, glueberry, smoothie), is that the purple lemonade and the strawberry cheesecake are smaller stature plants compared to the other 2 in the tent (glueberry, smoothie). That being said, I had to raise the light to account for the 2 taller ones, so that light burn wasn't an issue, and by doing this, I didn't provide ample lighting for the 2 smaller plants in the tent (strawberry cheesecake, purple lemonade). I bring this up, because the 2 latter plants, are not as dense as expected, or compared to the other 2 plants in the same tent, and based on experience, the strawberry cheesecake, will dense up fairly nice. No big deal... Lessons will be learned! I another week in the books, and closer to harvest!!!

Day 68: - Another great week in the books. She has really started to fatten up, and continues to get nice and purple, see my shots! -She is also getting floppy! which isn't a bad thing, but maybe more silica in the future for her?? - One of my girls, has gotten so floppy, I had to support her with some bamboo sticks, (think different DP), see her in my shot! -I checked her under my scope, and I'm seeing one or two amber trichomes here and there, so maybe another week to go, or so, i'm not going to rush her, let her take her sweet time :) - I included a shot of my next grow to come, she is my mother plant....

Day 75: Well I'll be wrapping her up at the end of this week, start of next week. She has gotten very floppy and filled out decently thus far, and her trichs are looking to be right where I like them Ill be drying her in the pot to see how this method goes, as normally I just hang dry She is very pretty and the purples are showing nicely, along with the smell of this one! So good, can't wait to try her Ill post her pics up, once she is done drying and trimmed to see what she really looks like! Stay tuned...

I Chopped her yesterday and hung her to dry. I thought about drying in the pot, but I didnt want to try something new like that on her. She just smells too damn good haha. In total she went 76 days from sprout, roughly and to me she was looking pretty ready. Some amber trichomes, mostly cloudy. In the same tent I have also the strawberry cheesecake auto from seedsman, and I have let her run a little longer than I normally would, and man she started popping sacks on me haha. Literally, pollen flying everywhere, but she was only affected minor, so I went ahead and chopped them all. They all ready anyway! I'll post the harvest end of this week, with some shots, weight, exact days, etc. Look for the update!

Well she is finished up! I will say that she was super easy to grow, and didnt require much attention at all. She has very pretty colors, and smells amazing. Overall, I will enjoy this herb one way or another Haha, but I made a couple of mistakes that my end result shows: Not enough lighting and dried too long. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I wasn't able to jar it in time and well it is what it is... My plan is to enjoy as much smoke as I can from it, and the rest will get smashed into rosin. It's a win-win ! 56 grams is what I have and will cherish it Haha Peace growmies!
