OK so this is my second grow attempt, growing indoors in a 0.7 x 0.7 x 1.6m tent under a mars hydro reflector 48 and a recently added mars hydro 300. First attempt was an autoflowering strain called Autoduck which through a number of factors, namely my inexperience only grew to about 30cms high and one ended up going hermie on me so i'm hoping for a better result this time around. I definitely would have benefitted from some experienced growers advice last time around so thought this time i'd blog it, so here we go..
Did a lot of research this time round and I believe i've found two strains with great genetics:
Acapulco Gold: Leafly likens this strain as the cannabis equivalent of dinner at a five-star restaurant, that's good enough for me lads. I want a sativa dominant strain and not only does it tick that box, its apparently one of the rarest strains around so to quote a famous dealer we've all heard of it'll be almost a shame to smoke it!
Gorilla Glue #4: Speaks for itself really, one of the most potent strains on the planet. A 4.7 rating on leafy after 2506 reviews is crazy. I literally couldn't find a negative review of this stuff. Plus it yields high goes from seed to harvest in 10 weeks which is a winner for me.
I'm growing in organic soil from a local nursery, I've also mixed through some rabbit and guinea pig droppings collected in hay from a retreat near my house and added perlite for drainage, pots are 290mm deep so about 18 litres or so, give or take. Last grow I kept it 100% natural using only organic seaweed fertiliser and molasses, I've heard good things about advanced nutrients PH Perfect so I have just ordered some of that this time around as I really want to maximise my results this time around. If anyone else has used these i'd really appreciate your feedback from them.
Seeds were soaked for 36 hours in rain water I've collected and planted straight into the growing medium - AG i used a jiffy pot and seedling mix, GG I planted directly into the pot, both on 4th November 17 and both popped their heads out today (8th November) so thought i'd put in my first update today.
The plan at this stage is to Veg out the AG for 4-5 weeks before moving outside into the sun when summer hits, i'll then scale back the lighting of the GG to 20/4 which i believe is the optimum lighting for autos, and maybe start another GG then with the new space. I've put up a few pictures I've taken from the past week or so, enjoy!
