Lomachenkgrow OK so this is my second grow attempt, growing indoors in a 0.7 x 0.7 x 1.6m tent under a mars hydro reflector 48 and a recently added mars hydro 300. First attempt was an autoflowering strain called Autoduck which through a number of factors, namely my inexperience only grew to about 30cms high and one ended up going hermie on me so i'm hoping for a better result this time around. I definitely would have benefitted from some experienced growers advice last time around so thought this time i'd blog it, so here we go.. Did a lot of research this time round and I believe i've found two strains with great genetics: Acapulco Gold: Leafly likens this strain as the cannabis equivalent of dinner at a five-star restaurant, that's good enough for me lads. I want a sativa dominant strain and not only does it tick that box, its apparently one of the rarest strains around so to quote a famous dealer we've all heard of it'll be almost a shame to smoke it! Gorilla Glue #4: Speaks for itself really, one of the most potent strains on the planet. A 4.7 rating on leafy after 2506 reviews is crazy. I literally couldn't find a negative review of this stuff. Plus it yields high goes from seed to harvest in 10 weeks which is a winner for me. I'm growing in organic soil from a local nursery, I've also mixed through some rabbit and guinea pig droppings collected in hay from a retreat near my house and added perlite for drainage, pots are 290mm deep so about 18 litres or so, give or take. Last grow I kept it 100% natural using only organic seaweed fertiliser and molasses, I've heard good things about advanced nutrients PH Perfect so I have just ordered some of that this time around as I really want to maximise my results this time around. If anyone else has used these i'd really appreciate your feedback from them. Seeds were soaked for 36 hours in rain water I've collected and planted straight into the growing medium - AG i used a jiffy pot and seedling mix, GG I planted directly into the pot, both on 4th November 17 and both popped their heads out today (8th November) so thought i'd put in my first update today. The plan at this stage is to Veg out the AG for 4-5 weeks before moving outside into the sun when summer hits, i'll then scale back the lighting of the GG to 20/4 which i believe is the optimum lighting for autos, and maybe start another GG then with the new space. I've put up a few pictures I've taken from the past week or so, enjoy! Vasily,

Lomachenkgrow The two seedlings have started to grow really well especially the last few days. I have watered them every other day with 500mls of PH 6 water, seaweed concentrate and worm piss (yes it's actually a thing!). I've had no run off in the saucer so i'll up this to 750mls for the next watering. Still waiting for my nutrients to arrive but expect them any day now. Resisting the urge to start LST but if they keep growing at this rate I reckon I'll have to start by this time next week. Cheers, Vasily

Lomachenkgrow The growth seemed to slow down a bit midweek. Turns out it was because I lowered the light which made them bushier instead of stretching. I raised it up to about 50cm above top of pot and switched to 20/4 and they have started stretching again, and looking very healthy, I think the 4 hours darkness is beneficial too, but at this stage its still guesswork. Gave them their first feed of nutrients today (25th November - AG at 19 days old GG at 17). They got 4mls each of the Advanced Nutrients Grow and Micro mixed through 1 litre of water - added another 500mls of PH 6 balanced water on top of this so all up 1.5 litres, still no run off to the pot so they are thirsty girls. I also added a splash of worm wiz which I've used on my previous grow. Excited to see how they go after the first feed. Ive started LST, at this stage folding and bending the leaves and rotating the pot to try and get even light to all parts, I've got myself some garden wire and will begin experimenting with tying some of the established fan leaves down, enjoying this grow :) Vasily,

Lomachenkgrow Another solid week, had a bit of an infestation of red spider mites which i treated with neem oil - so far this seems to have done the trick. The GG started early stages of flowering, I actually noticed the smell before I saw any of the pistils forming, was told to expect the GG to be a potent strain, but didn't expect a noticeably smell at barely 3 weeks old! I can't put my finger on the specific aroma just yet but its quite piney. I started aggressively tying down the AG today, pics to follow next week, I also topped the main cola 6 days ago and she's responded really well so I hope to repeat to at least two of the side branches as soon as they are strong enough, I intend on vegging the AG for at least another 4/5 weeks, to date I have 11 bud sites so want to increase this before moving her outside to flower. Thanks for reading, any feedback would be appreciated, Vasily.

Lomachenkgrow Bit of a mixed week/10 days. I upped the feeding schedule after my last post to 2 litres of solution and what I first thought was overwatering turned out to be nitrogen poisoning! Luckily my bud spotted it early and I flushed them both two days after it happened and they have bounced back strong. I forgot that I have about rabbit/ guinea pig droppings mixed through the soil so that was likely the cause, probably weren't ready for 8mls of grow/micro so I've scaled the feeding right back to 2 mls/litre and will up again to 4mls/litre this week. The AG particularly (which is still vegging) is so so green and is very thirsty compared to the GG. I've topped 4 of the stems now and they are responding well, really enjoying experimenting with the topping. The stems are also much easier to bend and shape compared to the GG which is now about 12 days (give or take) into flowering, i have found the stems to be very stiff and difficult to tie down.

Lomachenkgrow We've actually just creeped into week 8 with these girls but since I've not updated for a few weeks i've put up pictures that I took a few days ago at the end of week 7. Both girls coming along strong, GG is well into flower and is very strong smelling. AG just keeps going from strength to strength vegging under the lights, still undecided about when to flip her will try and keep it going until the GG is ready for harvest, we'll see how it goes :) Thanks for reading, Vasily.
