This is probably my favourite strain by RQS, both me and the wife love it. I'm using a 120x120x200 room with 1 x 315w CMH for veg and then I will be putting in the second light for flowering. This one is in a 12 litre fabric pot, the soil is Canna Coco Coir mixed with perlite and approx 35g of the Easy Start Organic Nutes by RQS. Temps and humidity are perfect and it looks like it is off to a great start. I will be putting it on some more organic nutes soon and I'm excited to be using these nutes for the first time so lets see how it does.
So it looks like this baby Royal Gorilla is coming along nicely. It is starting to get a decent bit of new growth now. I started giving it a bit of feed with the booster tablets and as it is my first time using all organic nutes it is going to be interesting for me to see how it compares to non organic.
So this little lady is coming along nicely so I will probably top it next week. I have fed this Royal Gorilla using the organic boost tablets from RQS and it seems to have responded quite well, unlike my North Thunderfuck. Cant wait to see how this turns out. No problems to report at all.
So I'm pretty convinced now that I have stunted this one by overloading nutes too early. So I have stopped the booster as it already has the Easy Start by RQS, so just water for now until it gets a bit bigger. So I have topped it and it looks like it is recovering slowly but I know this plant is quite hardy and will bounce back nicely with the proper care.
So I am gently nursing this little one giving just water at the moment and the RQS Easy Start in the soil. It is growing very slowly at the moment but does show signs of improvement, hopefully it will gain strength because it is getting close to switching to flower.
This poor lady has gone through me almost killing it and now it is starting to look a bit better. I've spread it out a bit to open up the lower nodes so hopefully it will start to get a bit bushy soon. I've just been giving it water this week again as it seems to be doing well enough with that.
So I really think I have messed this one up good and proper. The growth is very slow and I have only been giving it water due to the colour of the stems which is a dark purple and that is indication of over feeding. What I should have done a few weeks ago was flush it properly and I didn't do it so the plant has suffered badly. It is looking a lot better than it was but still not anywhere near what it should be.
So all I could really do with this one was pin it down a bit more to encourage growth on the lower nodes and it just looks as if things are growing really slowly and for being at week 8 it is not where I wanted it to be. Now I have to decide whether or not to give it an extra few weeks to bulk it out a bit more. So I have still just been giving water and the plant still looks like it is being over fed, I think the early application of the booster has stunted it so bad that it has struggled to come back but it is a real fighter and hardy strain and I am surprised it has even done this well.
So I couldn't wait any longer really due to other plants I have in the same tent. Not exactly my best work ever with this one but I have learned a lot through this process. I've given it a feed of the GROW booster tablet and it looks a bit better, will probably give it one more veg feed untill I can see some flowers start to show then switch to the BLOOM booster by RQS.
So another terrible week for this poor baby gorilla. At this point I am extremely pissed off with this one, it is all my own fault though. I've given a couple of feeds with the booster tanlet and I can see a bit more green in the leaves and the buds are starting to form now. I will see if I can get some organic cal mag and see if that perks it up a bit.
So it looks like I may actually get a couple of decent buds, not exactly the crop of the century but it is something. So it is around half way through flowering now, I will give it some of the BLOOM booster tablet maybe next week or the week after and then see how it goes from there.
I think this is probably the worst plant I have ever grown, what can I say about it. I Burnt it, then mis diagnosed it and under fed it and it is still going. One thing I can say is the Royal Gorilla is very hardy but I don't think I will get much from this one.
So the Royal Gorilla is still holding up but everything is just going a bit slow with this one, I have given it some cal mag and I put half of a RQS Bloom booster into 6l of water so will see how it goes with that.
So this week I am about ready to throw this thing in the bin. I gave half a bloom tablet in 6l of water, fed it from that and it starting to look like it has some deficiency, or it could be burn from the feed but it looks more like phosphorus deficiency so I will give it just a bit more feed and see how it goes.
This strain will chill you out nicely. Earthy and pungent flavoured smoke. Very easy to grow. I would recommend that people grow this strain at least once, you will not regret it.
I really love the Royal Gorilla it is one of my favourite smokes. I messed this one up good but that was completely my own fault by over feeding it at the start and well it never recovered properly. Next time though I will take what I have learned with this grow and use it to my advantage in future grows.
i will follow your grow my dear because i have also this fuck and i have 2 of them one is going to easy boost and the other with normal nutes, but you are doing good, from the beginning final pot you have balls man lol
Hey good luck on your grow she looks lovely and healthy 😊 I'd probably wait a few weeks before topping her. Me personally I like to wait until the plant has at least 5 nodes before topping 🌱💗
