Fuck knows how it will go and how it will even turn out but that just makes it more interesting & challenging for Me. GINGER NUT Cookies Week 2 of Life 9th Jan 2020 Hi folks well my Creation is doing well and has her first set of true leaves , plus a new set is just showing thru now . Ginger Nut Cookies 16th Jan 2020 Well she's still alive despite me nearly cooking her by leaving her out in the full sun for too long 😄 Should have remembered to slap on some suncream 😂 Anyway Shit happens and I only lost the first set of true treaves and i'll refrain from putting her out in the sun for now. The reason I'm keeping it on the 16hr light schedule is because I think it will be photo dependant & I'd like to see if it can get a bit of vegetation growth before it tries to flower. Otherwise I'll only end up with a miniature plant and that would only be wasting my time . If it does sprout pistils during this lighting schedule then it must be an autoflowering strain but I dont think it will. **** Great Aussie Music Videos **** Last week was Gotye with "Somebody that I used to Know" It went number 1 for awhile here and did quite well in the US I believe. Ginger Nut Cookies 23rd Jan 2020 Seems like I got another mutated plant to play with 😬 The top leaf which was the second set to appear is mutated and similiar to one of the Sour diesel autos Im growing which is apparently a polyploid. As you can see in the above pics I removed the weird leaf and I now have two distinct tops rather than the usual one forming. They do say two heads are better than one 😀 Anyway I gave this little ginger nut a weak mix of Superthrive and Seaweed solution plus a tiny bit of Great white Mycorrhizae powder. This will be the first documented grow of anything Ive created thru my "Fuck around experiments" I call them that because I really dont have any plans or goals as far as breeding is concerned other than learning how it is all done. When Australia finally bites the bullet and goes legal I want to have the basic skills needed to create my own seeds for my own use. Basically a strain that is well acclimatised to my environment with maximum potency , flavour and terpene profile. But most importantly for me is a strain that is a IBL and Homozygous, so that I get very similiar results every time I grow it. Anyway Thats enough of my rambling lets get down to the Music part of this weeks update. I hope you liked the AC/DC I played last week , This week is INXS probably our greatest export music wise other than the Beegees I suppose. Sadly Michael hutchence the lead singer of INXS died in an apparent accidental misadventure but some say it was suicide . We'll never know for sure. Ginger nut cookies 30th Jan 2020 I got a bit carried away a couple of days ago and whilst trying to be a smartie pants and Lst the two heads of the plant, I accidentally broke one off . In my defence I did immediately chuck the broken stem into some rooting powder and then a rockwool cube. If it takes I'll have two plants but still I was annoyed with myself. Now that I had only the one top , I topped it so that she can fill out and create more tops. This week I fed some High tea, and watered in a little epsom salts for a magnesium Hit. Ginger Nut Cookies and Aussie music videos week six Thursday 6th feb 2020 Hi Growers well I decided to bite the bullet and attempt some LST and topping , I gently bent it over and tied each branch down to a predrilled hole in the pot with some soft wire. I then topped each node that was showing. If any one has any extra tips or advice on how I should go about my training I would welcome it as I am still learning . This girl is definately showing some Indica dominant characteristics about her and looks nice and healthy. I will continue to train the branches as they grow and tuck fan leaves that block light . Now for the Music Videos ###### This Week I chose two songs from two different Music Videos and two different artists both spreading the message about Reconciliation and land rights for our Indigenous Brothers and sisters here in Australia . This is something I feel is very important and is still a major issue over 200 years later. Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos 13th Feb 2020 The LST seems to have been a success as the plant remains healthy and seems to be growing the way I would like it to. I'm only going to give her one more week of extra light hours with the LED, and then she can stay outside, where she can transistion into Flowering Naturally. The plant seems to have a lot of it's mothers (Fastbuds GSC) looks to it, and the stem smell when rubbed is fairly similiar too. I am still hoping for some of the Red Diesel fathers Characteristics to come thru before this girls Finished. Now for the Weekly Aussie Music Videos. Ginger nut cookies and Aussie Music Videos update 20th Feb 2020 On Monday just past, I started to leave this plant out at night thus reducing light hours to the same as a regular outdoors Plant. This should induce flowering as all my other Photoperiod dependent strains are now in Flowering mode. Thru the use of Topping and LST training I have managed to create lots of potential bud sites for this plant to develop into lovely sticky and stinky Buds. Later on today I will do some more LST & As soon as I see pistils developing I will begin to add P+K to the soil by using Guano , Mollasses , Liquid potash, comfrey teas ,Compost teas and Worm castings. The smell of the stems is increasing in strength and has a blend of Red diesel stink mixed with cookies dankness. 😛 Now for the Weekly Music Videos yes I say videos because there will be three 🙏 Last week I chose The Divinyls but this week I thought I would do something different and ask the People what they wanted to hear. Well I got 3 responses and they all made good suggestions all of which I will play this week . @Fruitgrower asked to see anything by Kylie minogue naked 😆 Couldn't manage that but the video I chose does see her prancing around in next to nothing which is the next best thing . Ginger Nut cookies & Aussie music Videos Grow Diary update 27th Feb 2020 The preflowering Stretch has well and truly begun with every branch that wasn't tied down , shooting upwards a few inches. The plant itself looks very healthy and content. Once flowering starts I'll begin to add P+K to the feeding regime. We have had bugger all sunlight here for over a week and also we have had lots of rain and wind. Daily max temps have been around the 24-25 celcius range and the minimums around 15 c. RH has been high 67% on average. That is about it for this weeks plant update . Now for the weekly Music videos. ** Last week I posted the links to three different artists who were picked by fellow growers thru the Grow question that I posted asking for requests. ** This week is back to just the one featured Artist from Australia. This week's artist is Mr Paul Kelly who is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers. He has worked with many other artists and groups and is considered one of the finest singer songwriters to have come from Australia. Once again I couldn't narrow it down to just one song as he's had many great tunes but I have chosen the two with the best Music video as that is the main criteria for my Diaries Theme. Ginger Nut cookies & Aussie music video's 5th March 2020 Flowering Begins ....................................... My little creation is officially Flowering folks!! After stretching upwards about 30cm all tips are developing little Budlets. I started to see minor signs of Nitrogen deficiency from a coupleof bottom leaves that suddenly began to yellow. This is fairly normal as the plant would have needed as much (nitrogen) as it could get doing all that stretching. I needed to feed half strength grow nutes ( professors nutrients) @1ml/L three times during the last 7 days. Now that the stretch seems to have slowed right down I will start to add some Dr Greenthumbs Bud n Bloom mix ( aprox qtr of a cup). I'll also keep using LST to allow as much light to penetrate as possible. 👍 **** Now for the Weekly Australian Music Videos *** Last week I posted Links to songs from the Artist Paul Kelly , they were Sleep Australia Sleep and Dumb Things. Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Two weeks Of Flowering Completed 12th March 2020 Ginger Nut cookies managed to squeeze in another inch or so of stretch this week but is now focusing on the flower production. I'ts only early on but I can already detect a distinct difference in aromas from both the mother plant and the Red Diesel clone "Feminised pollen " donor. The GSC mother had a strong funky smell , whilst the red diesel was straight up Gassy smelling. The buds on this plant smell sort of Fruity and sweet which is interesting. Now that the stretch is done I'll switch my supplemental feeds to More Potassium etc . Gave her a nice Drink yesterday of unsulphured Australian sugar cane Mollasses mixed with Rain water. This is a great source of Iron , Calcium and Potassium as well as lots of sugars and carbs for the roots to use as food. I did the weekly Ph and Temp check and it was 6.5 and 22c . That is about all I have to Report this week so...... Now it's Time for...... Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos 3 weeks of Flowering Completed 19th March 2020 Hi folks , I hope everybody is keeping safe and well during these trying times. 😷 The Ginger Nut cookie plant might end up needing a new name because she smells like pineapples and other fruitiness. 😛 All of the buds are starting to fatten nicely and have a generous amount of resin being produced. The rainy weather is back but this time instead of it being humid , it is getting cold especially at night. None of this seems to be having any detrimental effects on her but to be safe I put the pot under cover when it's raining. Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos 4 weeks of flowering completed 26th March 2020 Hi Everyone I hope you are well , This Plant is starting to get some frosting happening and the smell has elvolved a little once again 😏 It's still got the tropical fruit like aroma but has got an underlying smell almost like honey. I had to get up Early this morning as an impending thunderstorm threatened to drench my plants which I wasn't going to let happen 😡 bloody rain 😆 It's all good now they are under cover and protected from any more showers we may have . She had a good feed yesterday of some Liquid potasium, Seaweed solution , Epsom salts and Mollasses so she should be content until the sun returns . Ph is still keeping stable at 6.4 so that's about it for the plant update Now It's time for the Weekly Aussie Music Videos 🙌 Last Week was jimmy Barnes and his song Working class Man This week I am playing The Angels as requested from @Lovemabud . Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos 5 weeks of flowering completed 2nd April 2020 Hi Everyone , Welcome back to my diary The plant I created is growing nicely nothing much to report other than the smell has changed yet again... Now it resembles yoghurt or slightly sour milk crossed with fruit. Not an unpleasent smell by any means just unusual. I'm not needing to feed a lot as the soil seems to be providing most of her nutritional needs. Now For the Aussie Music Videos Because this plant is geeting closer and closer to harvest time I thought I had better start doing more than one video a week lest I miss out on too many great videos I could add. It's raining cats and dogs here (lucky there's no chinese around LMFAO) and the humidity is 100% so today Ive chopped this little lady down and she is now drying up in my shed with fans going 24/7. I was quite pleased with the amount of bud I got off her and it's smelling fantastic and is very sticky.The trichomes were very milky with a few amber as well. 😍 very easy to grow no fuss and no problems but we'll have to wait and see as to whether she is a good smoke or not . Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song.
