The first week will include germination and the first week of vegetation. So there might be more info on this week than the rest of the weeks. 1/4/2020- Started yesterday afternoon. I have 3 gallons of water in the bucket for start. Just waiting for the seed to germinate in the rockwool 1/6/2020 - I'm starting to see it germinating! The big dent in the rockwool is my fault. I lost my balance and accidentally dug my thumb in it when I was looking to see progress. 😆 1/8/2020 I was worried because the tap root was growing sideways, but it corrected itself! I had to battle smelly water today, so I think I need another air stone. I'm going to change my nutrient solution to General Hydroponics Flora line because I don't trust the stuff that came with the DWC kit. I'm also changing to a black 5 gal bucket with black 1/4" tubing to get ahead of the algae game. I should get all that in two days. 1/9/2020 Last night I found the tap root poking out from the top of my rockwool. Ugh. I replanted it in another rockwool cube but in the process, I broke the tap root because it had curled upwards. It still looks good this morning, and it's cotyledons busted out of it's shell. I planted another seed just in case the first one doesn't make it. I also plugged the hole to see if it will germinate faster. If they both make it, I will transplant one of them in its own DWC. 1/12/2020 It looks like my new seed is germinating a lot faster then the first one since I switched over to GHE products. Got rid of the rockwool all together and used rapid rooters. I don't think my first one is going to survive (on left in new picture). It has not grow and is yellow. The new one is sprouting so fast I can visibly see a difference when I check on it hours apart from each other. I also switched to the black 5 gallon bucket and black quarter inch tubing. 1/13/2020. RIP to my first seed. Lesson learned. Second one is doing good I think!

1/14/2020 I'm dubbing this week two because I finally see it's first two leaves and I can see a visible difference from yesterday and today. It's tap root is sticking out of the side, but it's going down in the right direction. It looks to be about 6-8 inches long. This one has fibers on its root unlike my first one. I really need to get a ruler so I can measure how tall it is. I switched to GHE week 2 nutrient cycle. Hopefully I did the math right. 🤞 1/15/2020 Added another picture from this morning so ya'll can see growth process! I'm so happy Ms. Widow is doing so well. 1/17/2020 Last night her leaves were pointing upwards so I checked the water level and gave her some more. And I also backed the light up a couple inches. This morning it looks like she has calmed down a bit and is looking better! I'm going to the store today to get a ruler. 😅 1/18/2020 Still looking good, I believe! 👍 1/19/2020 Updated diary with pictures 1/20/2020 Last day of week two with pictures👌

1/21/2020 Start of the third week! It's growing so fast. Changed all the water and mixed the nutrients today. Four gallons of water this time to try to get the roots to go down instead of wrapping around all the clay pebbles. Maybe I should stop the top feed (drip ring).🤔 1/22/2020 Yay, she survived the night! I'm always worried I screwed up the amounts of nutes when changing the water, but it looks ok. I am noticing some tiny brown spots on the bottom two leaves. And I think that the calcium deficiency so I bought some Calimagic off Amazon. Should be here tomorrow. 1/24/2020 So the leaves started drooping and the brown spots became more prevalent so I decided to change the water again today and add the Cali magic before the nutrients just like the directions say to because last time I forgot to add it and add it in last. I also lessened to the water level because when I change the water on Tuesday the root still hadn't reached the reservoir. When I looked today there were three long white roots growing down hanging in the water. Hopefully I see results soon. 1/25/2020 It looks like it has gotten worse and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? Leaves are now drooping with more browning/yellow dots. I stopped the top feed last night because I think I was over watering it now that the roots hit the water. The drooping seems to have gotten a little better but not improving super fast. 1/26/2020 This community is amazing! Thank you everyone who helped me answer my question! You all didn't make me feel stupid and I really appreciate that! Now the update: New leaf growth shows no sign of calcium deficiency. I am now checking the pH level everyday and I've noticed that today was a little high so I lowered it a bit. And the last thing I changed was the light distance. Had a couple people mentioned that it looked way too close for an LED light so I backed it off a bit. I also started LST today. I don't have the rubber wires, but I did have some plant ties I had lying around the house from when I had vines growing on my deck. I'm going to use those in the meantime while I wait for the order to come in. 👍😊 1/27/2020 LST is starting to go well. Leaves look dark with no sign of spots. Added some PH balanced water to her reservoir because I've noticed her roots were drinking lots of water. I pinched the leaves off that showed signs of calcium deficiency. I'm not sure I would count that as defoliation because I don't plan to do that. I just couldn't stand looking at how sad the leaves looked. 😣 1/28/2020 She's looking good. Just topped her today. New air stone and some Hydroguard is coming in the mail. I've been battling stinky water and algae which makes me change the water every 4 days. I want the water to last at least a week so I don't have to worry about it when I go on vacation in two weeks.

It seems the discoloration is getting worse from the changes I made last night. I gave it 3 gallons of distilled water with the GHE nutes but this time I added the Calimagic because I noticed the browning earlier in the week. What is happening & what changes should I make?

Hello there, I use the GHE line of products as well, but in soil. You're in coco, doses are slightly different, but the answer is the same. This early on, I don't feel the high amounts of nutrients are necessary and this could certainly be why she's dipping out. The color and specking of your lower leaves I believe to be a Calcium and/or Phosphorous lockout. I've run into it more then once, myself and calimagic is the answer. You have already applied this and it should help pull back the spread and symptom's you're seeing. However, if you have a pH mal-adjustment, this will need to be addressed first. Keeping your pH at 6.0-6.2 will help your girls pick up the nutrients they are lacking while stopping the fast intake of macro/micro nutrients you don't want. Long and short of it is this. There looks like a Cal deficiency that was caused by a toxicity locking out that Cal (it was probably still getting some but not everything she needed). Highly suggest testing your reservoir pH consistently, backing off the heavily concentrated GHE nutes and letting her balance out her pH before upping the doses. Keep on the calimagic, this will not hurt them, and it appears that's what she wants right now. When all is said and done, those affected leaves won't come back, but all new growth should show NO new signs or symptoms of toxicities or deficiencies. This may take a little bit of time, but I fully trust it will balance out and your new growth will be un-affected. If you'd like to speak further about this issue or the GHE line of products, please throw me a PM and I can share my experiences with GHE in more detail. Cheers and don't panic! All will be well.👍😉

1/31/2020 Today was the day for cleaning buckets and changing water. There was brown goop in the water but it didn't smell. I'm guessing those are the nutrients just coagulating in the water. The roots are brown too but when I smelt them they didn't smell bad and I couldn't tell if it was slimy or if it's just wet. The brown came right off when I rinsed them. I switched net pots which was a hassle. I found that there was a sticker underneath the first net pot lid and the pieces of paper and adhesive were dropping into the water which was changing my pH level. Trying to fit the roots through those tiny holes in the net pot was hard. I ended up just cutting out a small circle to fit all the roots in the bottom of the net pot so they can reach the water reservoir. I had no idea how many roots it had until I uncovered them all. I really don't want to do that again. Breaking the little tiny roots trying to fit it through the hole was making me feel sad. I really hope I didn't do any serious damage. Added the Hydroguard to see if it will combat the algae and bacteria that's been growing within four days without having to buy a chiller. 2/2/2020 I went crazy last night and defoliated the bottom two fan leaves and when I woke up this morning I regretted it. Did some research, hopefully I didn't do too much damage.

2/11/2020 I've been MIA dealing with stuff at home but no news is good news. She is doing fine. Saw a little calcium deficiency in the leaves start popping up again but that's cuz I didn't change the water and 11 days. And when I dump the water it was clear which it usually never is. So I'm guessing that she ate up all the nutrients and was just sitting in water. I also started another white widow that's not autoflower because I'm using it as my experimental plant to learn on so I'm not expecting a high yield from it. I also have a DWC jalapeno plant and lettuce plant all in the same tent. Let's see how this goes! Haha! Also, in one of the pictures you can see that my cat took advantage of the fact that the tent was open. He loves eating all my plants no matter what they are. I wonder how this will affect him...
