Pics are day 3, New fabric pots, autopot airdomes in bottom with a 50% rx81 (Rockwool chunks) 25% coco 25% perlite mix that I mixed in eco charge into before mixing with the rx. Top watering atm but will be switched soon to autopot tray system (and no longer sat on dinner trays!! 🤦♂️🏼)
So, this is really a complete experiment from top to bottom! First time using: New lights, “maiden voyage” of a custom built Autopot style system, fabric/smart pots, Autopot airdomes and of course the “super fast” auto’s! So it’s all complete guess work, experimentation and adaptation! Think the pots might be too big for the plant in question due to how fast/short the full seed-harvest time is, but we’ll just have to see! Photos are from jan 11th (seeds germinated on jan 5th)
Pics are from jan 15th and in first 3 you can see the custom built/homemade Autopot system I made, after using their 2 pot system, I loved it but felt it could do with a bit more room between plants (same as a 4 pot Wilma I used years ago, great but a little too compact) if anyone interested it’s a “titan large greenhouse potting tray” 110cm x 55cm x 15cm deep and the Autopot float system with their root barrier around it and their “lid” that weighs the float box down. I’ve got a c02 bag suspended around 12in above plants and I’ve turned the Autopot airdomes on now, using a 2 output air pump with each of the two outputs “T pieced” so that one output feeds two airdomes....see what happens!
So at the start of the week I did what everyone says not to with autos; top/fim em!! As I said this is 💯 an experiment so, why not?? The last pic and vid are 3 days after topping
Sorry not many pics this week, struck down with man-flu! Few pics of the new 600wt lumni fully adjustable light I picked up and have replaced one of the smaller kingbo’s with it, thought about having the two kingbo’s either side of this lumni but I really didn’t wanna forfeit the 400wt cobs! Also bought another double output air pump, so going into flowering phase, watt/plant ratio has increased and so has aeration to the air domes inside the smart pots. I’ve also added a small water pump to the nutrient tank to keep it moving/oxygenated while it’s waiting to feed into the drip tray.
Bit a disaster week!! Great thing about an auto feeding system is you can leave it alone for a couple of days if needed, sadly I did that at the weekend and for some unknown reason, my carbon filter decided to disconnect itself from the extractor (been fine for a year!! 🤷♂️🏼) and drop onto and through the canopy taking 6 decent branches with it! Two of which detached completely and the others I’ve “wrapped” as best I can and will just have to see how they fair at the end!
Feed wise again, due to this strain only having a 4/5 weeks flowering phase, I’m kinda guessing a lot of it! This week I started the week with C4 then mid week I gave a 24hr ph 5.8 distilled water flush then started feeding them ultimate pk. Just monitoring each individual plant and leaf conditions daily but so far it doesn’t look too bad except I’d prefer them to be defoliated more and spaced apart more but with the “filter disaster” I am just leaving them well alone!
Yeah not bad at all considering I messed about with it, had issues with snapped branches etc and also found my feet with feeding, just coz it was such a fast grow! All in all, if you want an extra crop a year then this is the one! Good buds come off it and fast!! My yield would definitely have been much better had it not been an experimental grow!
