Made some upgrades and switched to living soil. Let's see how she does!
* 4x4x6.5ft grow tent
* HLG 550v2 Rspec
* Autopot watering system, 5 gal fabric pots
* Fox Farms Ocean Forest
* Mother Earth 70/30 coco/perlite mixed in about 20-25%
* Nature's living soil at 1 lb per 5 gal pot
With soil supplied nutrition, all I have to do is add pH'ed water to the reservoir and monitor temp/humidity in the tent! I have calmag and other products on standby if any issues arise, though. Stay tuned!
I definitely overwatered the gals this week, but I'm learning--this is my first time in soil. Also we had a bit of a cold snap, so lower temps and humidity in the temp could also be throwing things off. I'll wait until Sunday probably before I water again,they definitely need a break from me! Soon, I'll turn on the autopot system and let them drink for themselves.
Grape Walker Kush is plugging along! Autopots have been turned on and I'm seeing darker colored leaves and believe the roots have reached the Nature's Living Soil Autoflower mix. Autopots are getting pH'ed water + Mammoth P at 1ml/gal. Not a lot of pictures because nothing too exciting - yet. More coming! These girls are growing so fast now.
So far so good! I removed 2 fan leaves to encourage growth of lower nodes, which are playing catch up. She's doing well with super soil + autopots with mammoth p. I'm enjoying having no inputs whatsoever into the growth cycle. It's fun just to watch them do their thing!
When I looked back at pics from last week vs this week, she's easily tripled in growth. The stretch is real! I think we'll be flowering next week. Stay tuned!
First week of flower underway! I did some defoliation earlier in the week (as seen between pic 1 vs pic 2), and went a little aggressive. Removed all undergrowth to focus all energy to the top of the plant. I think she's gonna be really stretchy, but has all the vertical room she needs to grow. The light is currently 3 ft above her already. The soil has all the nutrients these girls need, I just pH the water and add mammoth P for increased structural density to hold up the heavy weights she's gonna have when we get close to harvest time! Stay tuned!
Gave her quite the haircut to try and keep down rH in the tent - this is also tough due to two 3-week old autos also growing in there. She's doing great - minimal light stress and even leaf color otherwise. The light is now at the top of the tent, so she's just gonna have to manage from here! No special input from me, just keep filling the autopot reservoir with 6.5 pH tap water with Mammoth P. I think she's gonna be a beast when I harvest in the next 5-6 weeks!
So impressed with how well this girl has tolerated the light, heat, and autopot system. The Ewok OG next to her has been droopy from oversaturation and sunburned from the light, even though the Ewok is 6 inches shorter. This GWK is going beast mode and should be ready for harvest in 5 weeks or so. Stay tuned!
Still very impressed with the size and sturdiness of this girl. She's starting to show some sunburn too, but has otherwise been very resilient. I looked at some of her trichromes recently and she's still got a long way to go.
This girl has impressed me every single day. She's my tallest plant ever, AND she's ready for harvest before her 10-day-older sister the Ewok OG. Blows my mind. Will be cutting both of these ladies down this weekend, I think.
Good evening dude, You're 100% right about the colder temps and the fact that you've been over watering. The lack of heat in you're tent is resulting in lack of water saturation by the plant and the plant is actually feeding off the moisture in the air, therefore meaning you're soil stays wet for alot longer, roots get water logged and that stunts plant growth. I did all of this on my first grow and learnt the hard way. Try up you're temps, water less and try too not worry about them too much, it's a weed, it will grow!
@Bashgrowsitall1989 thanks for the input! Temps have stabilized and the girls have recovered from overwatering as well. Autopots have been turned on, so they can water themselves now, too. More pics incoming tomorrow!
Oh baby those are some absolutely gorgouse ladies. So many beautiful buds. Fantastic work my friend. Keep it up and may the ganja garden gods bless you along the way with this grow and all future endeavors as well
@Pot_Portraits, thank you very much! I'm so happy with how this lady grew. I'm constantly thankful to be able to grow beautiful plants in my own home <3
@Yucreepin, that means a lot, thank you! I vaped some of this last night, it's got a lovely flavor to it. I'm terrible at describing these things, but it had a lot of depth and was kinda sweet. I was very impressed. Can't wait to grow another!
@Yucreepin, thanks so much! It's absolutely delicious. Still maturing from the cure, but I'm very pleased with the results. Stay safe my friend. Grow well!
