This was seedling week. Fastbuds Purple Lemonade seeds were soaked for 8 hours then planted directly into FFOF soil prepared ahead of time. Soil mix is as follows: 1.5 cu.ft. FFOF 8 qt perlite 1 cup AgLime 2 cups diatomaceous earth. Plants are growing under a 1000w Plantmax HPS bulb in a gro1 hood with built in 8” cooltube. This is powered by a Sun Systems 1000w hardcore switchable ballast. Cooling is handled by an AC Infinity Cloudline S8 fan pulling through an AC Infinity 8” carbon filter and piped into my home HVAC. Tent is a Gorilla Lite line 4x4 with 1” extension

Howdy. Long story short, majority of auto growers do not FIM or top and prefer to get their results through pure LST. As there is no control on when an auto decides to flip to flower, topping or FIM'ing at the wrong time can mean no recover time. No recovery and they may get very under-developed mains and bud sights, lower yield etc... If this was the plan all along and you want to experiment with topping autos (growers have been very successful in doing so) then go for it👍. But if this is your first run (I'm not sure if this is your first grow) then playing it safe with LST is the way to go. You can accomplish the same results with LST, thankfully. I even use auto LST techniques on my photo-periods because of how well they work. I have a photo period blue cookies, trained like an auto with zero topping, just pure LST. She is the biggest frigging girl in the tent, and the other's ain't small....! lol. Anyways, I'll stop there. I wish you luck no matter what way you go with this. No matter what you choose though, couldn't hurt to through a quick bend in there when she's tall enough😉. You won't regret it.👍

Growth has really taken off. Tuesday night was last water, this is Saturday so I think I’ll water tonight to keep them happy. I’m going to do 1 qt. That’s enough to get a light drain through the bottom, but only about 1/4 of what I would normally water a 5 gallon pot with. Going to wait until week 4 to feed, tentatively.

What wattage are you currently running?

@Asegrower, looking good!

@HolySmoke, 20” is a good rule of thumb, but this has an 8” cool tube in the hood with anywhere from 300-700cfm of air cooking through it. You can actually hold your hand 5” under the light as long as you want, it won’t get uncomfortable.

@Asegrower, that's pretty close considering you're running them 24/7. I read onlin that 20 inches was as close as I should get for my light. interested to follow this one along tho! I got two of these myself.

@Fast_Buds, Thanks! I’m looking forward to this grow. It’s my first autoflower grow. Week two started today so updates are coming.

Great grow, I have had excellent luck with a single pinch and LST my problem is with this one is I waited to long this time to pinch and I thought it was a longer grow not a 56 day and the next day it flipped to flower so because of that my yields will be down considerably, for the most you are correct on the shorter autos the 56 - 63 day plants should be very light training but longer grow autos and even the 56 day ones can be pinched you just need to do it a week before flower starts and if it’s done at the correct time she develop a lot of bud the trick is veg even autos recover great in veg but once flower starts forget it not so well but with pinching I always get 2 main colas and a lot of side branches and yields from as much as 3oz from a single plant. Good luck my friend

@boew777, This being my first autoflower grow I really don’t know what to expect yield wise. They look branchy for sure. With all the training the smalkercplsnt has nine nice tops growing and the biggest has 16. I’m hoping to get a decebtbyeild overall off the five, since that’s all I’m allowed by law.
