Doofus_McFluro Day 10: They are not looking too great but all the seeds germinated and I will be whittling down to the best four. One of the plants seems to enjoy bending in different directions and a couple have droopy leaves. I originally set my EC to 1.1 but the pH Down boosted it up to 1.2 so I am going to cut it back soon. Realised my pH Down was phosphorus based so I will be switching to a nitrate-based one soon, as I think it's getting too much phosphorus as my nutrient regime is only MaxiBloom. I will be switching to a nitrate-based one soon as I think it's getting too much phosphorus because MaxiBloom is a bloom nutrient. Day 14: Leaves still a little dark and curled. Have raised the lights somewhat and cut back EC to 1.1

Doofus_McFluro Going into week three, will be dialling back EC somewhat. Day 17: EC 1 Day 20: Had some rust spots on some of the leaves of the plants Day 21: One plant gained 10 cm in girth in the last session.

Doofus_McFluro My nutes are measured in grams per litre and that is not an option on here so don't read too much into the measurements. Day 25: Plants are growing well but I am seeing a deficiency, which looks like calmag. I will be adding calmag tomorrow. Day 28: Started to build manifold at the third node.

Doofus_McFluro Raised my pH to 6.3 and lowered my EC to 1, for some reason the site keeps changing it to EC 0.00391 as seen above. Day 30: Looks like the advice from Papabro2k to raise my pH is helping with the plants, thanks bro. pH now at 6.51 and EC 1. Hopefully now the plants will loose that dark green and the mag def will stop growing, only time will tell. Day 31: Started LST to create manifold

Doofus_McFluro Day 36: They aren't looking too good. I am lowering my EC as they are too green and look like they are having too much nitrogen. Looking at other Dod Is Dos grows on the sight it looks like I need my EC to be 0.7. Hopefully this will sort the plants out.

Doofus_McFluro Day 48: Been doing some defoliation to get the manifold sorted. Ready for the final stretch before flowering. Over did the nutes to start and have been trying to recover since. I think the plants are stunted due to lack of CO2, have ordered the parts for a homemade generator.

Doofus_McFluro Day 60: Flipped the lights today. Experienced slow growth as I have not been using an extractor and was starving them of CO2. I have now made a CO2 fizz bucket using limestone and hydrochloric acid, which has been working well but it is not metered at all, so not sure exactly how much CO2 I am giving them. I had issues with my plants when I decided to cull the minnows but the roots had become tangled up together so I had to leave two. Not sure I will use this reservoir again unless I find some way to circulate the solution inside as I think I am getting dead spots in the corners and the drippers are not circulating the solution enough. I have started another grow 25 days ago in an identical tent, hopefully I can learn some lessons and get some bigger plants. Will be doing some defoliation tonight.

Doofus_McFluro Day 63: Did a large defoliation and put them into flowering on day 60. Not really happy with them as I've made a few mistakes but onward and upward. Day 67: Have been starving the plants with 1EC as my tap is 0.6EC so I was only feeing them 0.4 EC so I have upped my EC to 1.3 and have seen twice the daily growth. This is probably what caused my deficiencies and a slight N overdose. I have ordered an RO filter to remove the tap water from the equation.

Doofus_McFluro Not much going on except watching the buds fatten up. I really messed up with the underfeeding during veg and I think it will hurt my final yield, live and learn.

Doofus_McFluro Day 123: I figure these will be the last pics before harvest. They look nice and frosty, little disappointed with the yield but that is my own fault for starving them. Next time I think I will put them into flower a lot sooner.

Haven't tried it yet as it is still curing and the yield was impacted by my noobiness but it looks super nice, better than anything I have purchased in the last decade.

Doofus_McFluro I am happy with this as a first grow and learned a few things like not counting EC of tap water as a nutrient. Need to get a way to cool my rez and some AC for the room. Did not bother to weight the bounty and haven't had a chance to taste yet but it looks very tasty. 😍

@Doofus_McFluro,ur welcome I had the same problem with one of my soil as I had ph way to low . I am sitting at 6.5 and 4 of them are quite happy . Happy growing 👌

@Papabro2k, I have gone up to 6.3 right now and they are already looking healthier so a big thank you is in order. Thanks very much for taking the time to help a fellow toker. 🙏

What are you using as a lid for the reservoir?
jgstl
jgstlcommented5y ago
@Doofus_McFluro, it's a really good idea. It has a really clean look and worth the money. Thanks for the link.

Doofus_McFlurocommented5y ago
@jgstl, Hey, it is a diabond aluminium sandwich board https://www.display.3acomposites.com/dibond.html that I had the holes milled in, its 5mm thick which is plenty strong enough. They weren't cheap and cost £115 each roughly. It is self supporting and there is nothing in the middle holding it up.

nice pics! that is a beautiful plant she looks a bit yellow though? Underfed, maybe?
Doofus_McFluro
Doofus_McFlurocommented5y ago
@@AlbertEinstein, yeah I think is the reservoir I am using, which is quite large but I don't think I'm getting circulation in the corners which I will have to rectify with the next grow.

Never messed with EC only being careful with ph, ppm, rh, temps, etc. Good luck with your grow.
