Week 0:
Germinated 4 days ago and put them on some rockwool and under 6.1pH water took about 4gallons to reach the net pots to where I like em. No nutes for the 1st week just straight pH balance baby!
Im gonna be growing 2 seeds each in a 5gallon DWC one is behind because the other didn't germinate but it's all good, just popped another one and see where this goes.
the set up so far:
2x Optic 1XL (100w)
DWC Set up
5Gallon bucket
8in Net Pot
Advance Nutrients
Sensi Grow A and B
Sensi Cal Mag Xtra
Rhino Skin
This is my 1st Grow EVER! after tons of reading am kinda confident to tackle this grow so come along and see if I can't mess this up lol
Stay Up
One Love
UPDATE: a week has past and this will be officially week 1 since I really don't count the germinating process. So far I checked my pH and it Rose to 7.3 am leaving it as is, till I need to add nutrients, or until I see something wrong with the girls but other than that slow and steady wins the rave. Till next week 🤟
This week I gave her a small dose of nutes, they looking good, the 2nd seed looks like it has a deficiency.
I also had to raise my lights as you can see the leaves were "taco'n" so I set them at 45"
Gave them a refill of 1 gallon of nutes at 5.3pH just to bring the pH down and she sitting good. Till next week and happy growin'
Entering Week3*
Soooooo, recap of last week after correcting the pH I finally got it stable at 6.0ph gonna test it out here for right now, and in flower drop it to 5.8pH
So I flushing & cleaning everything and started from scratch.
(shout-out: wildeWeed)
I pH my water at 5.0 and I guess from water temperature that rises the pH rise as well and it stays at 6.0
I did a test run and did a bucket at 4.8pH and came back 4hrs later and I recalibrate my pH Pen (just in case) and it shows at 5.8ph so yeaa. lol
Gonna give her some nutes again this time a little bit of last time.
In last week's I say I put 24mL per gallon that was a "type-oh" meant to but 4mL just a fyi.
So a lil catch up from last week,
Both plants are thriving and are growing by the day, I did a light defoliate on both plants, the 1st plant I got rid of the bottom nodes it was getting crowded l, I wonna focus all the energy ok the top
The 2nd plant I just got rid of the brown leaves nothing to major
Defoliate on Tuesday 03/03/2020
Always checking my pH and it's at 6.0pH and it's consistent, also the roots are coming out of the 8in pot nets and they are pearly whites =D
all good sign, let's just keep the momentum going, now I know everybody keeps telling me never defoliate a Auto, but from what I see, it recovers really quick in DWC.
This week was a flush week
Nothing to special just plain pH balance water (5.8) and a little of H202 (hydrogen peroxide 3%) just give them time to recover before adding some nutes again.
I did notice that the 2nd plants is having some issues, and I can see the roots are wanting to "brown" So did some research and people point me to the right resources I found hydroguard and gonna buy some once I get a chance and mix it with the nutes.
Other than that I do start to smell Everytime I open my tent which is a faint skunk smell, I'll let u know more as the plant matures and develops and how the smell changes as it goes.
Cheers guys and see u guys next week
=D
Wassup guys & guy-ettes lol, this week I introduced this ladies to some LST, they were tall enough to bend then around, am also gonna change the water to just some pH balance 5.8
(no nutrients).
Q: my only issue is am having pH imbalance, and due to the COVID-19 MAYHEM I can't find hydrogen peroxide lol and I've notice my water gets warm inside, my question is can I throw some frozen bottles in there filled with just water to cool down my water temps. maybe that will lower my pH? Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated.
F.Y.I.
I just finished stressing them as am writing this and just check my pH and am sitting at 6.8pH gonna change the water asap.
This week was rather an interesting one, so the only thing I did was flush and 24mL of hydroguard because I notice I was getting root rot, so I just let it do it thing and recover.
I did a heavy HEAVY defo. Because the leafs were turning Browning from the root rot so I just bit the bullet and defoliate her (2nd plant)
Their both seem to grow new roots and they seem to respond well to the major stress I did to them
This week I just but some new nutrients and pH balance my water and so far it's been consistently at 5.8pH am always check it twice a day once in the morning and again in the late afternoon.
Not really stressing over my yields since this was a trail run for DWC but loots of new things I love learned from this grow. Thank u to the community this site has I've been getting support left and right u guys freakin ROCK!💪🤘
This week all I wanted to see some kind of growth and I kinda see it, they both still look sad , the first plant looks like it's doing "ok" I do see new roots developing so that's a good sign.
The 2nd plant still some brownin' appears on some leaves I don't know BUT I do see new roots growing on her my question is: should I still keep her going? OR let her get the axe?
The deficiency still appears and I've done everything on the book but don't wonna give up on her (just yet) but I really don't know what to do with her? I wonna give her sometime see what she tells me or if u guys know what am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate
This week: air bubbles, air bubbles, and AIR BUBBLES, that's why my growth has been weak lol. AAAAAND I wasn't giving them space between the net pots from the water!
VERY IMPORTANT NEW DWC-ers lol
Sooo this week I was just letting them be. Until I realize I was messing up, everything in the book EXCEPT those 2 things I state above. I just received my new air pump today as am writing this (everything is installed) very pleased with the new pump. But I gotta replace those airstones they seem clogged up (yes I did wash em, warm water and a firm toothbrush)
But I've been checking everything down to my pH that's it's constant at 5.8
My PPM is the same when they drink so let's see the difference a week from now.
I do start to see lil pistols coming out on the 1st plants I think shes done veggin let's see next week.
Appreciate everybody u guys freakin rock🤘 a toke from me to u guys much love and happy growin'/keif'n
This week has been great progress on the plants, as u can see, giving your plants the oxygen it needs and they will flourish I wish I've gotten a better pump from the beginning, but o well learning curve lol, it has been getting warmer now that spring is arriving, the inside of my tent is at 80° so the only issue I see in the future is water temp. rising but ama try to keep her as cool as possible.
(Not running a chiller)
I did started to see some pistols coming out so, she starting to flower. Ama switch her nutrients to bloom A&B next week as with some Nirvana see how that goes.
Am still checking the pH twice a week
(Once in the morning, and again late afternoon.)
I just entered flowering stage,
I switched to the bloom nutrients and I've stopped putting Rhino Skin like 2weeks ago and now am adding NIRVANA to help with the phosphorus
I've also gave them a well needed defoliation try to focus all the energy in the pistils
I've dropped my lights as well and my I've been keeping an eye for my temp. Don't want it to go above 80°
The order am mixing my nutrients are:
•hydroguard
•Nirvana
•CalMag
•Bloom A
•Bloom B
• pH balance to 5.8
So far their pryin' up wards after I dropped the lights the seem to respond well.
