Day 37: She's a bit late with flowering, I hope that she goes into full flower this week. She's been stretching a lot last week and several colas reached the canopy, which is great. If flowering goes smoothly it could be a very decent yield for a 1 gallon pot. Also watered and fed today. I also think that I have a drainage and/or root problem. New leaves have yellow and/or curled tips (-> overfeeding problem?), and many leaves have their edges curled up (-> root problem?). The pot that I'm using is fairly small and only has a very small hole for drainage. I guess that root bound could block drainage even more, resulting in nutrient burn and light overwatering effects. Does anyone know if it is safe to drill additional holes into a terracotta pot? Day 41: I decided against planting her into a bigger pot, because I think that it might cause more harm than good at this critical stage. Watered and fed without BioGrow yesterday, let's see if this solves the nutrient burn

I'm already having a wet towel in my room 24/7, but I think it would be very beneficial if I could increase the air humidity around my plant to 60%+ (now at around 40%). Would it work to put a glass or plastic container on the plant until it has reached a certain development?

Definitely, that's exactly what I do. They are so delicate at this stage and need all the moisture they can get and absorb mostly through their leaves while the roots are still developing.

You will get some lighter green leafs off the newer growth they should be fine as the plants develops. As far as the curling I would suggest back off on the feeding nutes and just feed ph'd water for a couple times and see if it goes away. As far as the pot only having one hole for drainage if all possible make a few more you need to have proper drainage allowing the soil to dry and not get soggy at the bottom between feedings. Happy Growing

hello dear, I think you can decrease the dose of biobizz biogrow and increase the dose of biobloom, but be careful, do not change the nutritional levels too much.. She looks good, c'mon bro :)

@@piritino, Btw i've considered your advice to increase the pot size but ultimately came to the conclusion that it would cause too much harm to change pots while an auto enters the flowering stage. I did some research and found out that the max. yield you can get out of a 1 gal pot is around 30g, which is more than I'd smoke in 6 months anyway. Hoping for 20g+ on this grow. That said, I'll definitely get much bigger (fabric) pots for my next grow.

@@piritino, Thanks :) I increased a little bit today to 2.25ml/l each, but I'm a little hesitant to go higher because some leave tips are still yellow. Not sure if this is really coming from the nutrients or something else. What was the maximum that you fed?

hi friend, don't worry about the leaves. in a couple of days you will see that he will come back strong.

Looks good. I wouldn’t be to concerned at this point. The first growth foliage goes through such change so quickly that it can show any signs stress from light, temp, transplant ect.. If it continues with new growth, then I would concern myself with a ongoing issue. Good luck

What was your nutrient schedule up until this point? I have pretty much the same setup (Royal Dwarf in Light Mix with Biobizz grow and bloom). Im only at day 2 now and since a lot of people say you shouldnt over do it im wondering. Your girl looks great btw 💪

@TheMightyShark, ok, thank you 🙏

Hi @Leonard_Lunte, I usually fed her at 50%-75% of the official BioBizz nutrient schedule. Keep in mind that the first week of the official scheme is actually week 3, as they recommend to not feed at all in the first two weeks. Some leaves of my girl were and still are showing signs of nutrient burn. However, after observing her for several weeks and checking many other diaries, I came to the conclusion that those were most likely caused by LED light stress. Imo you can just feed 75% percent or less of the official schedule and you should be fine.

Really nice job. I have a Royal Dwarf too but she is only 3 days old now. I really hope to keep her height under control because I don't have much space. My goal would be doing exactly what you did, but keep everything on the same level. In your case even with LST you still have one cola that is way above everything else and I really can't afford it...I will have to keep everything around 35 cm, it will be a real challenge...the solution might be a scrog in the end, I don't know... In the worst case scenario I can always mount the filter outside the box gaining at least 20 cm more space, but I really hope I don't have to. Thank you for sharing your experience. It's really helpful.

@TheMightyShark, thank you! I'm using a timer and I think I will keep 18 hours of light a day until the end. I might go to 16 hours if the plant is taking to long to start flowering, just to give her a push. I hope I don't need to go lower then 16 hours because of course in the long run it will means less yield. I'm already scared to do LST becouse it's 15 years since my last grow which was done with scrog, but I don't know if scrog will do the job in this case because I should do some topping at some point but folks suggest to not top an autoflowering strain because it has a short life cycle and recovering from topping takes time. Non the less i've seen lot of people topping their autoflowering without any problem. For sure topping should help a lot if the goal is having all the branches and buds at the same height, but in the end I don't know if I'm going to do it. I only hope it will not takes so much more then 8 weeks as it should because, as you said, lots of folks went way beyond the 8/9 weeks that this strain should take.

@MicroG, thanks for your comment, glad that my diary is helpful! Frankly said I think I did a very bad job with LST. I was scared to do something wrong because it was my first grow ever, so I only bent the main stem for 2 weeks or so. After the flowering stretch, however, the plant almost completely reversed my LST. I think if you do proper LST you can get a much much smaller plant. If you do a lot of LST I think 35cm can be possible, though it's definitely going to be a challenge. Also, my vegetative stage was fairly long for this strain. I'm 90% certain that this has something to do with changes in the light cycle. I switched the lights on/off manually when I woke up and went to bed, sometimes there was more than 1h discrepancy. @Pirinto did the same in his Royal Dwarf grow and his plant even took 9 weeks to flower. I have no idea if this is a reliable method to extend the vegetative stage of auto strains, but if it was, one could apply high stress training methods like topping to stimulate horizontal growth. But like I said, not sure if this is reliable, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hey, nice diary man! Is that right understood that you used 3,7 liter pot for the whole grow for this plant?

@SavageGarden, hey mate, thanks! Yeah I used the 3.7l pot for the entire grow (which I do not recommend though)

i have never seen anyone run 15 hr light cycle
TheMightyShark
TheMightyShark
@The_Bearded_Grower, it was mostly between 15-16h since I did not use a timer socket and usually put on the lights shortly after I woke up (the plant is in my sleeping room btw). Definitely wouldn't recommend doing that, but since I'm not smoking much anyway (0.5g a week maybe), I decided to only buy a light, a small fan and biobizz soil + fertilizers. I harvested today and will update the results in 7-10 days

hi friend, I think you can go up to 2,5/3ml / L biobloom I'm glad you chose a fabric pot for the next grow :)
