I dug up the plant after 8 days because I feared it wouldn't come out. The seed rooted but was still deep in the soil. Maybe it couldn't get through the soil or was growing the wrong way (hence the turn in the root right after the leaves). Either way, I replanted it. The leaves went green, and it started growing a pair of new ones. Watering the plant almost daily with about 100 - 150 ml of tap water. Thanks Kenethica for the help!

The plant luckily recovered and is growing. I have no idea how much on schedule the growth is, but it's still going. I still haven't given the plant any additional nutrients since the soil should have enough still. Don't know when I'll start giving extra nutrients.

Started giving it extra nutrients in the water. A small ammount of universal nutrients I also use for my vegetable garden. Since I can't spend money on special soil/nutrients. I take what's at my disposal. It's still growing, however slow. I'm curious to see how it will end up if harvesting is set to occur 8-9 weeks after sprouting (according to the info page). Sprouting happned in week 2. The pot is still inside the house. The plan is to move it outside when temperatures are better (in a couple of weeks).

Another quiet week. The plant is still growing. The plant has been indoors the entire week aswell. However today is the first day I've been setting it outside. It is 23 degrees outside and very sunny. The aluminium foil it there so the temperature of the pot doesn't get too high. When the plant is inside, I have it behind a window which has sun from about 9am until 4pm. It has shadow from 4pm until 8pm and I have it under a lamp from 8pm until about midnight. I have seen some tiny flies around the pot the last few weeks. I don't think it'll cause problems. Maybe after it has been outside for a day they will mostly disappear. Although the fertilizer mis is 8 ml/l. I only gave it about 300 ml.

Another week has passed, and it was a good one! The weather was quite nice the past week (22-25 degrees) and the plant has been outside every day. I still put it inside in the evening because the temperatures at night are chilly. The plant has grown nicely. Not necessarily in height, but in leaf ammount and volume. It also started to smell a bit. Not very hard, and only noticeable when you are very close. I'm also using a new lamp for my plant in the evening. Since it is getting dark at about 19:30, I want to give it more light in hopes to better the growth. The lamp is an 80W studio light I had lying around from my DIY photobooth from my wedding. I've also moved the pot closer to the lamp (It's 10cm now, was 40cm before) Thanks @Kenethica for the tip to use this light instead of the shitty warm white Ikea one I had up until now. Apart from that, nothing much more to report. Don't mind the chopsticks in the photos. I keep them there for extra "support" if it is very windy. I also tend to put a box behind it to break the wind a bit if necessary. Fingers crossed everything keeps going and I am very curious for the coming weeks!

Last week was a good week. The plant is in pre-flower (stretch) mode. It grew a whopping 15cm. That's about double its size in one week! The weather was not great. A few days where it could be set outside for half a day, but most of the time it was inside in my closed veranda (I moved it there a couple of weeks ago). I want to leave it outside overnight as well, but it's still 8 degrees outside at night. So I still take it inside every evening on days I could put it outside. I also gave a bit more nutrients this week due to me reading many posts of plants having some kind of deficiency during pre-flower. The smell is a bit stronger than last week, but still mild (as far as I can tell from my first grow lol). My wife makes a remark now and then that parts of the house are smelling like weed. But I can manage her :-D.

Day 50! Another week has gone by. It's doind well. The weather last week was okay-ish. It was summy most of the time, and air temperature between 16 and 19. The plant has spent most of its daytime outside. It has also grown a lot. 16cm in one week. I think it will stop however, since it has been about twoo weeks in stretch mode now and the flowers are also beginning to come up. Noticed a few leaves which had been eatem from by some bug. I haven't found the culprit. Probably it was some kind of insect that was hungry when the plant was outside. The plant was on the grass this week, maybe it's related. In any case, I've put the plant back onto the driveway. I will keep an eye out though! Don't want it to be eaten any further. The watering/nutrients ammount hasn't changed compared to last week. I'm starting to give it a bit less light each day. The goal is to be at a 12 hour schedule by next week. I also whipped out my DSLR camera for the pictures. That's it for this week.

Another week has passed, and it was a slow one. The weather was shit last week. The plant spent most of its time in the veranda. there's plenty of light in there, but nothing compared to being outside. It was colder than usually last week, and there was a much greater fluctuation in temperature this week due to the door from the veranda being open and closed often at times for ventilation purposes. The plant grew a few cm's this week, indicating the end of the stretching phase and the beginning of the actual flower phase. The plant is developing some spots on the bottom leaves of the plant. Do idea where they come from or what they mean. The bottom leaf also became very pale in comparison to the other leaves. Nothing has changed nutrients-wise compared to the last couple of weeks. I've added some pictures of the worst affected leaves Apart from that nothing more to report. Let's hope the leaves will not worsen in the coming weeks.

Another week has passed. The weather was not great early in the week, but improved later in the week. The plant has been outside roughly 4 days in the past seven days. The plant grew 2cm last week as expected. The flowers are also doing well, you can see some flowering on the stem of some leaves now aswell which is good. I stopped putting the plant under extra lights at night (I stopped about 10 days ago). That way it has a shorter light cycle which is good for flowering. The intensity of the smell varies day by day. Some days It hardly smells while other days it smells "normal". I guess there's nothing wrong with that. Harvest is till quite some weeks away I reckon. Notced the pland had leaf miners on four leaves (as I could see now). I just cut the whole leaf as seen in the pictures. Will need to keep an eye out for potential more leaves that could have leaf miners in them. Compared to last week, no extra leaves have pfysical damage. The pale leaf at the bottom is still the same, the damaged leaves from insects have not changed. All good for now! I'm also working on a "lessons learned" list which I will publish on the week of harvest to give an idea of several things I learned during my first grow (apart from the obvious things like light cycles for example). Other than that there's nothing more to report.

It was a quiet week last week. The weather was shit (and still is) and is a bit colder than I would like it to be. The plant has been in the veranda for almost the entire week. I've been able to put it outside maybe two days in the last seven days. Flowering is also coming up nicely. It is very obvious that the flowers at the bottom inside of the plant are very underdeveloped compared to some on the top or outside where it could catch more sunlight. There are a few new leaves which have been eaten by some sort of insect. I've inspected most of the plant, especially the area around the damaged leaves but could not find any culprits. I'll assume the same as last time. That is was an insect who came when the plant was outside, filled its belly and left again. Haven't changed anything regarding to watering or nutrition. I am wondering how far the plant is with regards to harvest. Due to not ideal growing conditions it is natural it won't make the times on the data sheet of the strain (8-9 weeks to harvest). That's fine by me, but makes it a little tricky for someone new to growing to figure out about harvesting. Heck I even need to find a good tutorial on how to harvest! We shall see next week how it goes.

Another week has passed (3 days late, I know) The weather was so-so. Some days were shit, some days were nice and sunny. Temperatures were always around 19-23 though. The plant is still going. More and more flowes are starting to grow and looking nice. The smell is also ramping up fast! Noticed more damaged leaves, but it seems to be physical damage, and not some insect filling its belly. The plant is also very thirsty! especially in this warm weather. I am giving it about 0.5l daily (unless the weather is shit, then it's roughly 0.25l) and I still think I need to give more sometimes. I hope harvesting isn't far off now. I'll try to get a nice shot of the flowers this week and determine how far it's at. See you next week!

Yet another week. The weather was great last weel. Temperatures were 20-24 degrees on average and lots of sun! Usually I take the plant in the Veranda at night because of the chilly temperatures, but I left it outside for a couple of nights. Didn't notice any problems with bugs or anything. I feared that leaving it outside would cause potential troubles (cats in the neighborhood, snails) but I was wrong. A few leaves halfway the plant are starting to color light green and lots of leaves are starting to show physical damage on the leaf (see pictures). I don't think that's something to worry about though. But correct me if I'm wrong. I also stopped giving nutrients. I read on growweedeasy that not giving nutrients a couple weeks before harvest is beneficial the buds. Spent some time figuring out the harvesting period and it must be close by. I don't have anything that enables me to see the trichomes clearly, so I'll use the "how many white hairs have turned curly and brown" method. Looking at the pictures, it seems to me that there are hardly any white hairs left. Especially on the buds at the top and outside of the plant. My good friend @Kenethica advised me to wait one more week. So I'll better look at that harvesting tutorial on growweedeasy!

What a week! So, the day after I last updated my diary, I noticed a shit ton of aphids on my leaves. And I mean nearly all the leaves. So much that I panicked and harvested the plant first thing monday morning! Harvesting went okay. I followed the tutorial from growweedeasy and it helped me a lot! The harvest had dried for 4 days and is now curing in jars I couldn't harvest all buds/flowers though. Because I panicked with the aphids, I wanted to cut the plant all in one go. This caused some buds to still be unfinished and unfortunately not useable. Some buds were also thrown away when there were aphids on there and I didn't feel like I could remove all of them. This, together with the not idea growing course I had caused the harvest to be quite slim. I am still happy though. This grow gave me much experience and teached me a lot on what to change next time. Don't have too many pictures this time to show for it due to me not thinking about pictures when doing stuff. Since this is my first strain I cannot compare it to others. However this journey taught me a lot about what it takes to grow yourself. I have collected a few items that I've learned and put them in a list. I learnt a lot more than this, but these are the things that are (to me) no always that obvious before I started growing. - When you fill the pot with soul, keep some clearance to the brim of the pot. When the plant grows, you can add more soil if the bottom leaves are high above the soil level. This will make the plant more stable in the wind, and gives it possible opportunities to grow more roots - When you plant the seed directly into the soil, and it doesn't sprout after 7-8 days, dig it up carefully. It might be stuck under there alive. Dig it up and replant it carefully - When you water the plant after it has sprouted, water it around the stem in a circle so the roots will seek water, forcing it to grow more roots to be able to absorb more stuff when it's bigger - A regular light bulb doesn't give sufficient light. Use a grow light, TL light, studio light, ... and put it close (about 5-10cm) to the plant - It's normal for the plant to "hang/droop" in the evening. It's tired after a whole day of growing - Be careful when you put the pot on your lawn. If you have many insects in the grass they can climb the plant and start eating. - You can wrap the pot with tin foil or a white cloth on warm sunny days to prevent the soil from heating to much - If you're feeling that the plant is still very short after 5-6 weeks, don't worry. It will grow tremendously in the two-week stretch period - Keep an eye out for insects and stuff (snails, leaf miners, ...). Spiders and ladybugs are friends, all others are bad. Thorougly inspect your plants at least every week! - Take stuff like harvesting times on the data sheet of your strain with a grain of salt if you're not going sweaty with your grow. They are not wrong, but some values change depending on the environment of your grow. Meaning plants can be smaller or take a longer time to grow if your conditions are not ideal. - Universal fertiliser is great for vegetation phase, but for the flowering phase it's better to use something with a higher PK with respect to N. - Harvesting buds takes time. Plan a afternoon to cut and trim your tree - Growing is a part of making your own product. After your plant has finished growing it still takes at least a month for the product to be completely ready (drying and curing) - Think about making pictures with many steps you take - Having the right soil, nutrients, light schedule etc.. is key for your grow. You can absolutely freewheel it. But it will really show in your harvest quantity and quality Thanks @Kenethica, @Cookie_Monster and @Mr_ROCKET for the help and everyone else for the support! I hope to see you all in my next grow!
